January 2014 Sleevers Come In!
shungsleeve replied to HipsAndLipstick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm pretty sure 85% of us January sleeves have hit stalls by now. I've had 2 maybe 3 stalls already. I was sleeved on 01/06. I go down 3 one day to be up by 5 the next day. It's just back and fourth. I'm down 52 from HW and 47 from the day I was released from the hospital. I have up my protein to 100g to help pull me out of the stalls. This is a hard journey. But I don't regret it one bit. I will say I have noticed a decrease in weight loss since I have been working out. I'm not sure if it's from gaining muscle or what. -

It will pass slowly. I'm almost 5 weeks out and that feeling is pretty much gone. But I do have it from time to time. -

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you not as happy as you are for yourself I'm sure LOL. So I have to ask, now that you've hit the 30 day mark, what has been the hardest thing to adjust to? Does it affect your family? Friends? Are they all aware that you had the procedure? I'm asking because I haven't told anyone. Including my family. I know for sure some of them will notice a difference. And at work, definitely. I work with a bunch of women who habitually feed each other. Is going to look a little strange when I don't partake in meals with them anymore. I'm trying to figure out how to break it to them... Without the world knowing my business since I am militant about my privacy. Sorry from bombarding you with questions, but I really want your point of view on this. Thank you. The hardest thing for me is not eating and drinking at the same time. I know it sounds crazy but if you knew me before the surgery drinking was a must have while I ate. My husband is the only person that knows about the surgery. Everyone else believes I went to mexico with a girlfriend. Which was not all the way false. I end up meeting an awesome person there and we have grown really close in such a short time. All of my friends and family have noticed the weight loss. I tell them I eat healthy and control my portion size. Which they noticed during my pre op diet. So they think I'm sticking to it. Which I am I have no choice. I also walk 30 minutes a day 5 days a week. I will up that when my 6 weeks have passed. -

They are awesome. I went alone. I was sleeved on 01-06-14. They take great care of you. You will have both doctors and nurses checking on you around the clock. They are very attentive. The hospital room is good nothing fancy very clean. The facility itself is a very clean throughout. I loved hanging out with Abraham and Eldorado. We had a blast on our shopping trip. -

I am 5 mos post op--- how do ya'll feel about this surgery for a teenager?
shungsleeve replied to scarbedazzles's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I actually want my daughter to have it as we'll. She is very short for a 15 year old and very over weight. I'm going to speak to her about it over dinner tonight. He self esteem is so low because of her weight. If she agrees we will go to mexico this summer. Dr E. Ortiz did my sleeve and I would like him to do hers. -

I'm having a very hard time with constipation now. I have not went since 01/08/14. That's the day I was released from the hospital. I had the runs right after surgery on the 6th up until the 8th. Now nothing. I have took all kinds of laxatives. I'm going to give myself a enema. I sure hope it works. I'm miserable at this point.
