re14768 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have appt tomorrow to inform my pcp, that I'm in the process of getting WLS. i'm already going into my 4th month diet visit with nutritionist. How do I approach him about it and have him write a medical letter of necessity to submit to insurance company. The end of the 6mnths diet visits is closing on me really fast..hope he doesn't give me a hard time. -

Also I don't end up looking unhealthy. .they are the type to say "I told you". -

My current weight is 240lbs..5'4..I think that's pretty big..getting realllly nervous...anyone got to skinny. .I realllly doubt I will get down to 120-130lb..after wls..any advice? -

I would take them with me, but no use..I've already made up my mind to go with it..just need God's hand while doctor is performing the surgery that everything goes well. .I'm confident I will not drop down below 120-130lbs. -
Anybody sleeved for other medical conditions besides obesity?
re14768 replied to CarolinaCutie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm keeping my wls procedure to only letting hubby, my mom, 2 sisters only..people are so judgemental. I carry most of my weight in my hips & thigh. When I went for my upper gi, the technician asked me why I was having wls, when I'm not that big. My current weight is 239lbs, 5'4..painful knee & foot pain..thyroid conditions, which makes it extra difficult to loose weight. Definitely not telling coworkers about my plans or even some friends. Upper GI, results show I have a small hiatel hernia. That's what I will tell them when I'm approved for wls. -
I also had H polyric, had to take medicine for 10 days..8 pills per day..not fun at all, but not to bad..then you have to wait a total of 4 wks after to retest..has results yesterday. .now test came back negative.

Anyone diagnosed with hiatel hernia?
re14768 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to see surgeon today, I was diagnosed with hiatel hernia. Anyone had to have hernia repaired during surgery? My doctor said it's small & he will repair it during surgery. If anyone had hernia repaired during surgery, how was recovery? Did it take longer to return to normal activity? Please let me know..hope to have wls early spring 2014..going on my 4th diet visit in Jan. .tnx -

I'm in Lawrenceville area, I had all my testing done already. Only thing remaining is psychology evaluation. Haven't schedule that yet...also I have to attend at least 1 support group meeting. Next month will be my 3rd diet visit with nutritionist at surgeon office. I also have to let my pcp know knows I'm seeking WLS so hopefully he writes me a letter of medical necessity.

Not yet sleeved, insurance required 6mnths diet. Hope to have surgery April/ May 2014.

How Do They Weigh You?
re14768 replied to Comfy_Blue's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was Soooooo happy to weight in at a BMI of 40.07...never in a million years I thought I would be happy to weight heavy. Usually I'm embarrassed to get on the scale at doc office. .life is so funny. .glad I was fat enough to qualify, since I have no health issues. Just thyroid, joint pain.
