Thanks I really needed to hear that, I'm almost 2wks post op and only lost 8lbs. My surgery weight was 242lbs. Don't know if it's because I'm not eating enough Protein shakes and drinking enough water. .can't stand the taste of water anymore. I decided to buy zero Vitamin water so far was able to drink it all yesterday. Starting to think I will be one of the unlucky people WLS won't work for..Plus my abdomen still feel bloated all this time. Good for my post op Monday. Hope to get some answers. .feeling defeated!

Can't wait til I feel normal again. .1wk post op yesterday. .still feel very tired and drained. .no energy at all fatigue most of the day. After a shower I feel I like just ran a marathon. .Plus still bloated big time with gas pain. .walking and taking gas X. .not much relief. .wish I could fast forward 2-3 wks from now. Only lost 6.8lbs :-(

Yes. .very true. .only 1wk post op..no pain or nausea. .but right side of abdomen very bloated and really uncomfortable. .taking gas X , walking. .nothing helps. I feel things are moving around on whole right side of abdomen. .don't know if it's trapped gas or excessive amount of stomach acid. .frustrated big time and miserable. .big time buyers remorse :-(

1wk post op yesterday. .I'm bloated on right side of my whole abdomen. .it's really uncomfortable, bloated and feel like things are moving around on my whole right side. .taking gas X moving around no relief. Anyone experience this kind of discomfort?

I'm 1 wk post-op today, I lack energy big Time also. .I'm beat after a shower. .have my follow up Thursday. Taking vitamin doing ok with water and protein shakes. Don't know why I m feel so much fatigue and no energy. I get winded soooooo fast. Having buyers remorse big time.

Still not able to stand up straight myself. Feel so bloated. .was speaking to a friend that had surgery almost 2 yrs ago..she said in 2-3 wks. .I feel will feel completely better. .glad to hear that, wish I could fast forward time. .tomorrow I will be 1wk post op. Was telling her I don't have much pain from incisions, but I'm bloated and swelling. .she said I needed to give my stomach time to heal..Plus she said drink slowly..told her I was drinking my protein shake and I have a bottle of water I'm sipping on..she told me I'm drinking too much and I'm putting to much fluids in my small stomach. .which is true cause I'm so afraid of being dehydrated I keep drinking water and drinking shakes to much. .I will slow down and see if I can get some relief. .cause my abdomen is extended big time and I'm VERY uncomfortable. .will keep u posted.

Had surgery last Tue 4/15..I'm so miserable. Also feel tired, no energy I get drained so fast. Only thing I can do is make something to eat, shower and I feel like I ran a marathon. I'm really regretting this also. Plus I'm started to feel hungry all the time. .stomach always freaking growling. .I'm a drinking my water and high protein shakes from doc. Taking my vitamins daily. .I m just tired all the time. .I lost 6 lbs. .thought I would be happy, but I'm finding it hard to get happy when I feel fatigue most of the day. .haven't left the house since Tuesday when I got home from surgery. .I keep saying I want to walk outside in the evening. But I get tired and winded soooo fast. .really sad. .and I hear people say after 1wk. .they feel great and full of energy. .I have been sleeping on my coach since Tuesday. .can't lay flat in bed. Sorry for the long vent :-(

No energy myself. .was sleeved Tue 4/15..I have NO pain, , but the gas pain is soooo freaking painful. .I walk, drink warm tea, broth. .I take Gas X..nothing is helping. .I am able to keep things down. I'm miserable with the bloated pressure in my abdomen and right shoulder. .I'm not even able to take a deep breath cause my chest hurt to bad . wish I could fast forward time. .no happy at ALL.

Doing ok..no nausea at all..trying to keep up with shakes and water. .taking vitamin so daily. .The only big issue for me is the gas pain..OMG! !..it's a killer..walking, Gas X, warm tea, broth. .absolutely nothing helps with it gas pain..bloated and very uncomfortable. .finally was able to have BM yesterday. .thought that would relief some of the bloated gas paim..NOPE..still very tired. .can't do to much at all..feel drained very fast..hope next week I feel better. .cause I hate feeling tired and extremely bloated with gas..gas pain in abdomen, back and left shoulder. When is your surgery date? Had surgery Tue 242lbs. .today 237lbs. .don't even care at the moment about the pounds. Just want my energy back and relief from all the gas they pump into our body during surgery :-(

Just had surgery Tue on liquid diet til next wed..I miss chewing/ eating soooooo much. .I try to keep sipping on protein shakes, water throughout the day..Also my broth soups. And my popsicle..I try not to let myself get hungry. .This soon shall pass. :-)

Haven't had the urge to have a bowl movement since Monday. .had surgery Tue morning. Should I take something. I was thinking maybe I have nothing in my bowl since I've been on liquids only. Feel bloated, I keep thinking it the painful gas..have been taking gas X since Tuesday day of surgery.

Day of surgery Tue 4/15..was 242lbs..got on scale on Thursday was down 239 lbs..going to have my hubby hide the scale for me..don't want to become obsessed with the schedule. .

I'm doing pretty good. .was a nervous wreck few days before surgery. I checked in the hospital on tues @7am..was discharged 1:45pm..I was able to eat ice chip and popsicle at the hospital and was about to use restroom. Haven't been nauseous at ALL..still in stock..I have been medicine, use it a little bit only. And nausea medicine. .didn't even open that bottle yet since I got home on Tuesday. .not hungry at all..more mental hungry can I'm not chewing only liquid til next Wednesday. Sipping on my water bottle , broth and protein drinks. .small sips. Only thing that hurt is the gas pain. .OMG!! Feel bloated and pressure in left shoulder and next..taking gas X. Helps a little. .you will do great. .I was freaking out prior to surgery for no reason. .trust me..The gas pain is the worst. I have 5 small incisions. .very tiny. .Please keep me posted after your procedure.

Interesting topic. .had surgery Tue 4/15. Was 242 lbs day of surgery. .I plan on treating myself with get a pedicure and French tips on my finger nails. Once I drop down to 230 lbs..setting mini goals for myself.

I will add benefiber. .have you got on scale yet? To see if you lost any weight?

I had my surgery on tues..surgery wa $ delayed til about 10am..thank God everything went well. .surgeon did leak testing will still in surgery. .have in recovery room by 12 noon. .was discharged by 145..I was able to use bathroom and pain was under control, able to eat ice chips and popsicle. .they must of gave me a lot of nausea medicine, cause I have taken any of my nausea medicine yet..do have the patch behind my ear to help with nausea. .will have to remit after 3 days..I have more head hunger than physical hunger. .trying to keep up with my protein and water. Taking my vitamin. Only pain I have to the bloated gas pressure. But I purchased Gas - X. .which really helps. .so far so good. I move to soft food by next Wednesday. .

Had my surgery yesterday. .started the same weight as you 243lbs. .morning of surgery. .plan on weighting myself next Tues to see if I have lost any wk..Plus it will exactly 1w..keeping fingers crossed

I was soooo excited when I started the process back in September. Ever since I got my approval and surgery date, I have been a nervous willy. .can't sleep, don't want to socialize, just want to keep to myself. I keep thinking I will end the one 1-2%..that will end up with leaks and severe complications. .knots in my stomach. I guess it's because I'm worried about my 2 small kids..keep thinking I'm taking such a drastic measure and they will end up without a mom. Hubby says he supports me 100%. .but my parents and sisters not to keen on wls..afraid it something bad happens, they would say "told you so"..After I will feel all the pain during the procedure and I'm not able to communicate with doctor while on the table. Also I will end up having a stroke. I should be happy insurance approved me an I should be grateful. .but instead I'm in panic mode..I just want to be happy, but my fears are overwhelming me..sorry for long vent :-(

Thank you so much for the reply. .feel like I'm about to have a nervous breakdown. .I feel frozen like I can't do anything. Wanted to go shopping for when I get back home from surgery. .my jelly, popsicle & broth. .and clean the whole house up..did half the house..lol..thank God I have no health issues. Just weight issue, which has affected my life for the last 10yrs..and it got worse within the last 5 yrs. .never want to go anywhere. Just church & work. .wow can't believe how being overweight affects people so much. I even got to the point I don't even want to be intimate with my husband and it has put a strain in our marriage.

Anyone was or currently on only 1wk liquid diet post op? Having surgery next Tuesday 4/15..my doctor office only requires 1wk liquid diet post op. I thought it was very soon. And the 2 nd week is soft diet. .moist chicken, fish, lunch meat. Seems fast to me..anyone liquid diet was for 1wk only?

Any VSG from Ga? Lets start a forum..did you start your journey yet? Pre-po? Post-op? Who was your doctor? Your location? HW, SW,CW...I'm 5'4 239lbs, Gwinnett county, Dr.Hart.

Only my parents, siblings and husband know..I told my manager I was having surgery and my doctor said I needed 4wks off (work in hospital)..manager didn't ask any questions. All she asked was if I started the process for FMLA. .not telling coworkers. .I hear how most feel about wls..we have a lot of patients that comes to our department post op for recovery. .I'm extremely a private person. I didn't even tel any of my friends. .sometimes I feel soooo guilty and like I'm hiding a secret life, not sharing surgery with anyone. Especially when at work 2 of my coworkers tell me private things about themselves. .I feel like, why can't I be open like them . Then again if someone tells me something I can keep secret. .I don't spread people's business. .I can't have that trust in others. .didn't know if would feel so hard keeping this wls a secret. .don't know how or what I will say when I return to work after 4wks off. .my surgery is 4/15..or what the hell I will tell friends when I start losing weight. .soooo confused. .wish I didn't give a DAMN!
