I am 2 days post and wondered the same thing. It's painful!

Exactly! I'm day 2 post op and have a moment or two of "oh, @&$?"! But I keep my eyes on the prize of health. So I'll sip my shake, wishing I could just guzzle and move on. I think if you are vacillating in your decision, then you're really going to make the right decision. Looking at it from every direction is a good thing. All good programs should make every candidate do some soul searching and homework. I was not willing to be 300 pounds the rest of my life. I also know the real work starts now. It's a journey for sure. Good luck - keep posting, reading and asking questions.

Thank you! I am sipping on my first protein shake and it's going down better than anything else. It's scary to realize how easy it would be to get dehydrated! Just want to get past the pain stage. Please God! I hope that's true for me too. Can't wait to get farther out. Still rough at 2 days out. Getting fluids is hardest!

I'm post op day #2. Sleeping in my own bed felt great. Lots of pain. Trying not to take narcotics because of worsening nausea. Cajun, does it still hurt to swallow (when liquid hits belly)? This makes getting fluids in so much harder! Gas finally moving and that feels good. A few moments of regret here and there but just trying to keep eyein prize!

Sleeved yesterday. Heading home now. When does it stop hurting to swallow? You can really feel a tiny sip. This is going to be tough!

Last night was rough. Better today. Sipping is hard. I actually feel hunger to some referee. I just can't handle narcotics well. Makes it harder to deal. Should go home tonight.

Day after surgery. Rough night last night with pain and nausea. Better today. Much harder than gallbladder but it's doable. I just have such a hard time with narcotics. They make me so sick. Hopefully going home tonight.

I forgot gas strips and I wish so badly that I had them with me. Gas makes more pain for sure.

On my way to hospital. Feeling good and focused and not too nervous. Finally shook off the last 4 pounds that had crept on over the last few weeks and going into this at 297. I really wanted surgery day to be under 300. I was bummed because it didn't look like that would happen but liquids and nerves seemed to do the trick. And I quit all caffeine a week ago (that was harder than anything in my opinion!!!). So here I go. Ready to conquer the world! It's a bit surreal to be here after this "hurry up and wait" for a date. I am meditating and praying and I'm asking for any and all prayers to come my way too. Thank you to all who have offered encouraging words on the journey so far.

This site is wonderful. It has helped me prepare emotionally probably better than anything. I'm here for you! Touch base tomorrow. I'm gonna try to sleep. Try being the operative word.

Hang in there! It's such an arduous process. I started last August and will be sleeved tomorrow. You'll get there too. This is a wonderful place to get support. Read as much as you can. Good luck!

Thinking of you! Just had a bedtime prayer with my 8 year old. Sweetness is to hear your child pray for you. It's terrifying too. But deep breaths - we got this! I'll be at the hospital in about 13 hours. Hope you're doing ok. Post when you can!

Good!!! That helps...... I'm so nervous and excited and tearful and.... JUST EVERY EMOTION! Whoever posted that your emotions are all over the map is right! Hoping for sleep tonight but not thinking it'll come easy. Report as soon as you can. Can't wait to hear. I'm so glad first night has gone well for you!

It's a nasty bug. I hope you get well soon. I've read about the fecal transplant - fascinating stuff but not seen it done at my small community hospital. Its really a cool concept though! I work on a cardiac telemetry floor. We usually have outbreaks in spring and summer. I've seen a few bad outcomes but most recover with vanc. But vanc is scary too. I feel for you! I'm having surgery Thursday and I'm scared of a lot of things, c-diff is definitely on my list! Good luck either way. My tummy cramps for you in sympathy!

Having a hard time sleeping I'm so nervous. I know some of this is normal. Just hard to believe I'm going to voluntarily put myself through this in 2 days. No cold feet, just reality settling in! Please keep posting your updates- helpful to hear how everyone is doing.
