I have already lost 9lbs and am wowed all I am doing is watching how much protein I am eating And chewing my food and No Caffeen (my spelling sucks sorry)
  2. You probably didnt put enough Miso Paste in it.

One final fat humiliation *I hope*

Years ago I worked in a Quality lab where we had green long sleeve work shirts and Lab coats. I bought mine from Sears workers catalog. They had really large sizes and work clothes and uniforms. I make work reimburse me for them it took a long time but they eventualy did. You might even consider asking for the suplier e-mail or number and calling and asking them if their is a size cut off. I also worked for a video rental place that had special shirts and they only came in XL I needed atleast 4X. I called the company that supplied the shirts and told them what I needed and they provided me with a 5X with the logo and everything. They said they dont advertise it because too many people try and get the super baggy and hangs down too far. ANYWAY...you might try going around the office people
  4. My first question to you would be Do you Really want to lose the weight? if you do then follow the doctors orders. If you dont then dont have the surgery. Personaly, I would rather be on liquids for 2 months and have a healthier body after then to eat the whole time and wine about why I am fat. You know why you shouldnt be drinking. So listen and follow it.

Take it to HR and get them to step in if it is really bothering you. Making comments about someones personal aperiance in a work place is a form of discrimination. I assume you told them you dont apreciate the comments. Now take it to a higher power. If it dosent get resolved that way. You then have the power to sue on basis of size discrimination. But if your like me you will just put exlax in their drinks or something mean like that and let it go.
  6. I REALLY APRECIATE ALL THE WONDERFUL REPLYS TO MY POST! Tat was the one thing I was worried about with the band. I can deal with the no bread, it will be hard, but I can accept it. I have no problem with the pain and I think I can handle the bandster hell. It is just the focus on food that does me in. I have all of my dr, surgon, psychyatrist, and nutritionist apointments between the 17th and the 18th and am so ready to start this journey to the new improved me. I already am working on eating more protein and finding some smoothie recipies and ways to get all my nutrients in. I think I am prepared for whatever they throw at me. I apreciate EVERYTHING you guys help me with.

    Worried about Food

Dont let the guilt kill you. But you may be damaging your band. If your doctor put you on a diet for the band he did it for the band(this is how I look at it) You are the only one that can control yourself. You need to think about why you got the band and How your going to help YOURSELF succede with this band.
  10. I have to drive almost 45 minutes too get to my doctor and phycyatrist and nutritionist. I plan for the day and all of them are really cool about giviing me the last apointment of the day or even schedualing all my apointments for the same day. I havent been banded yet but I dont mind driving out of the way for my own health. I figure I am worth it to take the longer drive. and take a day or so out of my life for something that will save my life and greatly improve my quality of life.
  11. Like I said my BMI is 63 my dr's told me they would prefer I get the band because they want me to lose the weight slower and learn the good behavors. And this tool will be my reminder to do that.
  12. If you have the option to go somewhere else for the surgery I would look into it. This is your life. Dont let others decide for you.If you want the band then I would see if you had family and/or friends somewhere else where you could stay for a few days. I could not even consider the by-pass just because it is non-reversable. it just scared me too much.
  13. If it helps you out my BMI is 63 my doctor and surgion both think the band is healthier for me because they dont want me dropping too fast. I would prefer the 1-2 pounds / week vs the quick loss and possible regain of it all. You can see as many surgions as you want till you find one you like and trust. If you dont trust your surgion or your surgion is pushing you for something you dont want. I would find someone who is willing to help you get what you want and need
  14. Damn the capital of Italy......"I"? what if I have been on magazines?! Man I am doomed...lol I actualy have all my apointments schuled for the 17th and the 18th of this month. I am SO excited!
  15. I personaly would ask another doctor. If you WANT the lap band then I would get a second opinion.

    Lunch Ideas

The Mayo alergy is weird. My mom would make home made mayo and NANase is ok but the processed stuff gives me hives. Someone posted a TUNA salid soup with yougart instead of mayo. I think I am going to try that for tuna salid.
  17. I am not sure where you are located but Where I am the local natural food/ health food stores have postings for classes on everything from yoga instructors to cooking.
  18. I havent been banded yet but I am putting together a poster of the things I want to do once I am at a more manigable weight. like horse back riding, kayaking, take my nieces to an amusement park, wear my seat belt, shop in a mall and be able to try on clothes in any store. Walk in the park with my friends,
  19. I really am not a good cook. I have become better. but get really nervous if it is something I have never tried before. I made my brother walk me thru the miso soup thing. and was suprised on how easy it was.
  20. My sister always makes stir fry with Tofu. I dont know how she does it but it always turns out tasty.

Also, I noticed you said to use whatever amount of miso I wanted to make it taste the way I want, but how much should I start out with? When you say to put in just a small amount...are we talking about a tablespoon or more or less??? Thanks again for all your help! The kind I have is a soy base kind of redish brown in color. I dont think it matters. I start off using about 1/4th tsp mix it in a seperate bowl with broth so no chunks are left. Then mix it into the soup. a little goes a long way. so be careful if you use too much you can just add more Water. Have you ever had Miso soup before? Like at a resturant? Very fragrant but wattery with just a tiny bit of veggies and tofu. I am not a huge fan of Thai food. it is usualy too spicy for me or just dosent turn out good when I do it. I am not the mose experimental when it comes to making food. I've never had it before so this will be totally experimental for me! I'm going to make it one night this week so I'll let you know. Maybe it would be beneficial to others if you would also post what you just wrote on the thread. Thanks for your help! Lynn I thought I would just paste this from the mail....I am lazy that way lol
  22. Here is something else to think about. Yes the carbonation expands the pouch. BUT the regular sodas is empty calories and the additives in the diet kind have been recently shown to mess with your insulin levels and will make you hungrier. Not something I need. PLUS the stuff that colas are made with corodes the teeth. AND can make you dehydrated. Too many negitives. I havent been banded yet and I gave it up cold turkey. It is hard sometimes but I think I am worth it.
  23. It is just the one thing that I know is a downfall for me when it comes to dieting. The constant thought of food. I think I may go for counseling. Thanks
  24. Yes that helps a little. I just dont want the rest of my life to be thinking about food. What can I have what cant I have how much did I just eat or did I eat enough. That kind of thinking trigers my brain into thinking I am hungry and want more food. It is like watching comercials if I am focused on food I want it. ya know?
  25. Would you experienced banders say that food is not as important any more? The reason I have failed diets is because all the focus is on food. What you can and cant eat how much your portin is and when you eat. Too much focus on food makes me want it more. Does it slack off once your at your sweet spot?
