Why do protein powders have to take up so much space!
Cerrin replied to anonemouse's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What about buying nice containers for the countertop? That way they are where you need them but look pretty -
I dont have kids, never had surgery before. I should be having surgery on a wednesday and I have no choice but to be at work the following monday. I sure hope I do great with post op because I dont really have a choice in the matter. I will be fired if I cant get to work. Luckly I have an office job where I am answering phones and on the computer and a bathroom is close but I just hope I do well. I think I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. Every root canal and tooth pulled I only took alieve and when I had the cortizone shots in the bottom of my feet and was ok. So I hope HOPE I will be ok.

Ranchgirl, which naked protein do you drink. I tried them they seemed too thick. I was thinking about adding a bit of water to them.

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?
Cerrin replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am waiting for insurance to aprove then to set a date for surgery. My Surgion says I should be approved no problem. I am refusing to buy new clothing. Does this seem wrong to anyone. I think I have enough clothes to last me for 6 months or so. and Just hate the thought of buying more clothes that once I am banded I wont be wearing again. -
I did take them up on it. I am just waiting for my surgery date now. One of my friends is taking a vacation day for my surgery and the others are staying the night to make sure I sleep and wake up I dont know how I feel about them staying the night. But I think I am just going to be thankful I have good friends.

Something I am trying is getting pictures together of things I want to do and cant at my present weight. Or wont may be the case. Like horseback riding and kayacking shopping in "normal" stores Wearing pretty shoes buying bras from a fancy store having matching bra and panties, playing on the floor with my nieces, rollerskating. If I have a reminder of WHY I want to lose the weight I am hopping it will keep me on track. I am actualy very proud of myself I went to the gym yesterday to work out when I would of normaly wimped out on going. I had PMS and a quiz to take and still went to the gym. Props to me.

Just so you are aware Caffiene actualy can make you dehydrated. For every 8 oz of a cafanated beverage you have you should have 16oz of a non caffinated beverage. I had an issue with being severily dehydrated because of my soda intake. I have since given up soda completly. Just be careful.

I am at 376 and have been using a trainer for about a month If he tells me to go on a machine that I know I cant do I just tell him and he adjusts my work out to be on another machine. I do a lot of walking and weights for upper body strength training. I have big legs and my trainer told me he didnt want to build up my legs any more and walking or riding a bike would be good enough for keeping them in shape. I am still pre band and just by working out I have lost 10 lbs. I can even make a muscle and tell I have one. It makes me so happy -
I have to say dont beat yourself up 22lbs is much better then gaining. Be proud of yourself for taking the steps you HAVE taken and dont beat yourself up of the things you havent done YET. One step at a time

I am still a while off from surgery but I gave up soda's cold turkey about 2 months ago. The headaches lasted a long time and I refused to take migraine medicine because they contain caffeen so I just "worked" thru the headaches. It does get easier. It is just hard for me sometimes when I go eat somewhere not to say large coke. I forget sometimes and have to catch myself. It is more of a habit then a craving for me any more.

Cerrin replied to hazeleyegrl1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love the idea of the infant fork and spoon. I did buy some baby bowls to keep my portions small I also bought some nice Asian bowls that I think are for Sushi but I think I can use them better because they are small -
First Day Bak To Work After Being Banded
Cerrin replied to REDGIRL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If your close enough with them to share the kind of information about food and your surgery. Just bring what you will be eatting. If they ask what your eatting or IS THAT ALL?! Just tell them your still healing and this is what you can have. They may be interested in a positive way and may even be thinking about the surgery themselfs. Some times I think everyone is judging me on what I eat and how much I eat. when sometimes they are just curious about the awsome food I have and how it is made or where I got it. I have a co-worker who is diabetic. and eats pancakes every morning in the office. I know she shouldnt have them being diabetic. but it is not my place to say. and I will bring that up if she judges my food choices after the band. -
What do you use for "security" on the road?
Cerrin replied to kacee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks for the understanding. I do apreciate it. So do you "feel" a PB comming on? Or is it a all of a sudden thing? Do you have time to get to the bathroom or not? is basically what I am asking. -

Cerrin replied to kacee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yeah that is it the fat trapper. I bought my extra's at wal-mart. I have seen them in walgreens and target too. It is one of my big fears to PB in public. My parents and close friends know about the band but the rest of my family dosent know. Seems backward I know but if you knew my family you would understand. They are the "You dont NEED to be eatting that" while they are eatting it. Or even the Here Save the big portion for Cerrin you know she eats a lot. Geesh can we point out what I eat and make it any more embarasing. My sister even went so far as to tell my niece her daughter. you shouldnt be eatting that because you dont want to grow up to be fat like aunt Cerrin do you? I was sitting in the next room. Talk about a stab in the back geesh gotta love my family. sorry for the small rant. -

Cerrin replied to kacee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have these bags at hole that are super thick. they are for Oil or Grease from cooking. They belong in an oil trap that i have kept under the sink I have bought extra of the bags for a few dollars for like 8 or 10 bags. Maybe something like that will work. thicker and not too big but big enough and not too expensive you dont feel bad about using them. What do you think? -
The company I work for has slowed down on the SHIRTS but the best things are the duffle bags! I prefer them and they get used. anyway I also have to agree with reading Wasabubblebutt comments she is awsome! and very smart about what she says. love her

Farewell to food tour..Not for the easily tempted
Cerrin replied to sbee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am in the waiting for insurance phase too. But what I will miss the most is french fries. The thing I will miss the least is the fat clothes -
I'm shocked!!! The lapband isn't magic???
Cerrin replied to guinessgirl77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Something I want to add is why think of someone elses 30-40 lb loss in a year as bad. THEY LOST IT! hell I have never managed to lose 30lbs and keep it off. If the band does at least that much for me the booyah! I plan on working my but off to be a BIG LOSER but hell I would never snarf at someones 30-40lb loss. because it is still a loss! -
Thank you Faith I think it was very well put. I am NOT banded yet but thinking about doing damage to a tool I ASKED-BEGGED for them to put in it stupid. I know it is going to be really hard to stick to the liquid thing. But I can do ANYTHING for a month/ two months if it means my LIFE is going to be better
