You might think about getting a small unfill. Dont wait as long as I did. I was lucky and nothing slipped...but I am extremely loose right now waiting for everything to get back to normal so I can get an fill that wont go wonky on me.
-
OK I have already started looking to see how much this is going to cost me. lol But hey what else am I going to spend my tax money on. lol
-
OK I am probably going to break down and buy a Wii then get the Wii fit and the Wii active lol whew I might break down from the cost. but I think it might just be worth it lol The cost is just what is killin me right now.
-
WOO HOO I fit that weight limit now! That in itself is a NSV!!!!! I kinda want the Wii fit also...but It is just so much money. I dont even have a Wii. Geesh Yeah Moxie...I keep lookin at peoples weight when they say how they feel they are huge and they weigh less then I do. lol I know I am big and I know I am losing slow. But I am healthy and I am thrilled with my slow loss and I would be terrified if I dropped super fast. My body needs the adjustment time while it is losing. Or it freaks out and does weird things lol Hang in there!

OK let me tell you my little story. I started out at the local Gym. About a year ot two before thinking about the band. I would go and walk...a couple times a week. Then I would stop and go back in a few months. But After I was banded I was in the gym about 4 or 5 times a week working out HARD Elipitical and weights (which were only guys) and let me just say that I had the respect of all the guys in there. Yes I was still the biggest female in there but all the guys saw how hard I worked out that they were encouraging and very supportive. I stopped going when I messed up my ankle and this is actualy making me want to get back in there. It is difficult during tax season. Maybe I will find myself a Wii and start working out on one of those. lol my brother has one and even the boxing is a work out. even though it is considered a game lol

Yeah but some of us like that feeling. Especialy when we feel were still HUGE. Pulling out those old BIG clothes is nice to see how far we have come. NOT EVERYONE is the same. I like having the reminders of how far I have come. So just because one person throws stuff away dosent mean everyone should.
-
Sorry I have to disagree with everyone. It is ok to hold on to them. Just box them up. And put them away somewhere. and next year when you see that box again you can pull them out and have a good laugh about what you wore...OR if your feeling down you can pull something out try it on and remember that you have lost weight. You body is getting smaller. It is OK to hold on to things. Just not neccessary to kep it all in your closet.

Wow I can so relate. Who buys those stupid white chairs anyway? I stood up at a party for like 4 hours because all they had were those chairs lol To this day I have the good folding chairs in the trunk of my car. lol I have to say that it was really nice to tell the flight attendent that I fit into the seat just fine arm rest came down and all so she couldnt bump me off the flight lol AND I sat next to 2 guys and none of us were squished. Guess my mom was right my butt is smaller lol

Wow I love these. My grandma is the worst I know. She has always made mean comments to me...But I found out that it is not just me...She hates all the youngest females in the families. Sad I know but helps to know it is not just me she hates. -

I had a real tight fill nd kept it too long. I didnt have reflux But if I drank Water too late I would have to PB it up after I layed down. PMS affected me...Flying was bad...Stress made me tighter. So I had my Dr take some out...And well he took too much out. And now I can eat anything. lol But I cant get back in there till after Tax season is done. lol Not that I want to...The stress of tax season and any too tight issues would just not be fun for me. I am still losing with being too loose...so I will deal with it for a while. If you are having PB issues...and Reflux...TAlk to your DR -
Hi my BMI is 61.5, I am 5 foot tall and weight 315 pounds
Cerrin replied to hollyluke73's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I also had a High BMI. I am losing slow. But that is by choice. I dont deal well with being too restricted on my choices. So my Dr is happy and I am happy I am losing...just slowly. I only had to do the 2 week Pre op diet...it was tough but I just kept looking forward...it is not forever. Once I was banded I had lots of things to choose from. I just could not eat much of anything. But I still could taste everything. lol -

I am so sorry. Even with the problems I have had I would do it all over again. To me it was worth it. BUT that is something your going to have to decide for yourself. I am a slow loser. But when I start thinking about how little I have lost I add on the 30lbs I would have gained each year. THAT IS 60 LBS extra I have lost...by not gaining. I hope things work out for you. -

I also got an unfill. But that was because I was getting stuck on water a lot. But now I am too loose lol Tax season and all I will be waiting till after April before getting it adjusted again. -
i think i'm starting to hate my band.
Cerrin replied to mommytoethan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Being sensitive myself I am also big on charts. I am not the best about logiong what I eat BUT I do log a 1-10 scale on HOW I am eatting 1 meaning I am stuck on Water...10 meaning I can eat a huge meal. My Dr is impressed with me being able to keep track that way. then he can see how many bad days I have...what time of the month it is falling on...I also log PB's so we can chart when I am stuck and when I PB. Charts are great way to keep track of more then just food. -

I had a huge problem this summer. I had Poison oak...the steroids and other medication I was given to get rid of that reacted weird to my body...My band was either super loose or super tight. from one day to the next. I kept hopping my body would regulate itself. But it didnt. I finaly went back to my Dr to get an adjustment. and He took some Fluid out and told me to give my body time to adjust. Then we will add a bit back. So...your not the only one who is sensitive. lol But I still love my band. I lose slow...and that is ok with me...because I am still losing. -
You get excited when you can take a big drink of cold water...and not have to sip

How long have you had your band and are you still happy?
Cerrin replied to Beka's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have been banded for 2 years...I was skipping my way on up to the 400lb mark...I am a slow loser...but that is ok with me...I count the 30lbs that I would have gained each year when I think about how much I have lost. I just got back from seeing my most excelent Dr. He took some fluid out...a first for me...I should have had it done months ago...but I am stuborn and thought the problem would correct itself...it didnt...but I am lucky I didnt have any slippage issues. Very lucky. I would do it all over again in a heart beat! The band is the best thing for me! lets me eat food with out letting me over eat. It is my little reminder to not pig out. Well that and all the new clothes I am fitting into... OH!!!!! AND I FELT A RIB!!!! Yes this is a first. I am feeling bones. lol -
I am in the habit of messing up my food in resturants so it looks like I have really been digging in lol Just so they stop asking me if everything is ok. lol It is the family food pushers that get me...My Grandma actualy told One of my cousins that I must think her food is gross because I wouldnt eat her deviled eggs. Thankfuly that cousin knew about the band...and well I got really good about carrying food for all my cousins kids. lol They loved me for sneaking them extra's lol:lol:
-
When you worry more about hiding how LITTLE you eat then how much your eating infront of the food pushers in your family
-
Good luck! My doctor never put a restriction on how much I could eat...The band did that for me. And I would get fills when I was telling him how much I could eat. My dr just restricted me on Snacking and Liquid food. All Doctors are different. But for me that is good there is no way I would survive if my Dr told me I could NOT EVER have something...mine tells me if you want cake have some...just dont over do it...this is a life long eating change...no one would want to give up something they love forever...I just dont eat in the quantity that I used to.

I am so happy with my band...even though it is kinida tight right now...stress makes mine tighter. but I am doing good...I am smaller then I was in 1999 lol -
ok let me just say I LOVE the Elipitical. But I had to work up to it. My first time on it I managed a Whole whoppin 2 minutes before I thought my legs would give up. I felt so bad (mentaly) about not being able to do more then that. But the next day I got back on and did 4 minutes...then 6 then 10 then 15 then 20 then 30 every time I pushed myself a bit harder to get the hang of it. I am not up to an hour on it. and I feel exilirated when I get off. To see the little things get on and only able to complete 10 minutes and check out my time as they walk by feels great. Now I am going to try some sprints on the elipitical along with my normal pace. To bump my metabolism up. I say give it another shot. I find it to be easier on my joints then the treadmill and I also go faster and further then I ever did on the treadmill.

I totally have to agree with everyone else your Dr is a nut job. I love my Dr. He is all about how you feel. My weight loss might be slow. But most of the time I feel great and not deprived at all. He is all about eatting like a normal person...With smaller portions. NOT miniture portions. Just smaller. So I can lose the weight with out feeling like I am on a restricted diet. He actualy told me to taste all the candy that comes by...Not to scarff it down like I used to but have a taste. and figure out what I REALLY like...instead of eatting just to eat like I used to do. I love him he is the best! and believe it or not I lost 15 pounds during Thanksgiving vacation. lol Everyone walking arround moving and playing...and not eatting as much I felt great!
-
I have to agree here...If you have less then 100 to lose and have tried and tried then...maybe. But having surgery for 50 pounds seems kinda massive. But just be aware the band is not an instant thing. You still have to work really hard. It is just a internal tool to help you out.
