When the trainer in the gym told me to change it up some I had to question them. Basically it boiled down to. When I am on the Elliptical Not to do one pace. Speed it up for a while then go slower for a while then kick it back up. I can tell that when I do it My fast pace is much faster then it ever has been.

Has anyone found their grocery bill.....
Cerrin replied to OceanGal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
OK here is my truth. I ate out at Breakfast out 5 times a week 5 dollars = 25/week lunch out every day about 10 dollars = 70/week dinner was out at least 5 times a week 15 dollars = 75/week Then I would buy groceries for home about 30 every week I spent 200 every week on food. Now I spend 50 every week on food. I live alone so I dont buy for anyone but myself. -

Sneezing and hiccups are natural Your really not going to mess something up by doing either...It might ach a bit if you do them the first few days after surgery. But that is natural. You should definitly avoid throwing up...at all costs. But That is just because you dont just do it once. As for the excercising and being stiff. Honestly I dont even think about my port or band except for eatting and getting fills. I dont feel it, I dont notice it. I notice the incision at times because mine still has a ridge on it. and I just rub it when I am reading or watching a movie. Weird I know. But just move arround. The less you think about it the better off you will be. It is secure. Surgins dont want to have to go back in and fix things so it is going to be secure. -
Well the plus may be you wont have the sagging issue. since the muscle is attached to the skin instead of the fat.
-
Wow I am glad to hear your ok now. I get gas bubbles every time I have a fill. but not pain. well kinda pain but nothing like you were talking about. I havent been to the gym in 5 days I am going today. My house got broken into so I have been nervious about being away from my house for any length of time. I bought a security system today. So I hope I will soon be able to get my life under control again and be able to get back to the gym with out too much stress.

Missy You are doing an awsome job! I just have to say that I love my dr and I love my band. It is an amazing feeling (to me) to know I am on the downward track. I am even thinking about doing a 5k which before surgery I hated walking. lol Now I am actualy thinking about participating in a 5k wow.
-
lol OK I guess I am not the only one. I just figure Everything that was stuck is gone. I dont want to drink. because something that got to my stomach I dont want to wash away. and if I chew better I can eat again. Seems to work.
-
Cool I think I will have to look into it
-
Man this is so what I want to hear! This is awsome! I can wait to be able to wear shoes that are not tennis shoes!
-
Where are you going to do your 5K? I think I want to do one. I am doing 4.5 miles in an hour now on the elliptical and I really want to do a marathon. But am not sure how to get into doing one.

I started at 376 I was VERY against gastric bypass. Just because it is so drastic and non reversable. That is me. I wanted a more gradual loss. I am active. always have been. So when my doctor found out I was very against the gastric bypass she sugested the band and we talked about it for a while. And then I started my reserch. I am thrilled with the band. For me it is like I am in control of what I eat. I can have ANYTHING just not in the quantities I was used to eatting. So I dont feel deprived if I want chocolate I can have it. It is still my choice. So I have a piece then go work out a bit. I feel like I have just gotted smarter about what I eat. and the band helps me not eat as much as I sometimes mentaly want to eat.

I think I am the only idiot who after a pb will try to eat again. I do go a lot slower. But I know that nothing went in. So I need to get something in. But mine dont hurt. icky but not painful
