I went to see my Dr last week he took some Fluid out and I feel so much better. and when I dont drink while eating I am eating so less. no more throwing up either. I feel so much better now I got the lecture because I let it go on too long

OK after about a month of this waking up in the middle of the night throwing up salivia I saw my regular Dr and she said it may be alergies...So I am on alergy pills...did not help. So now I am going to have to see my Band Dr. really dont want to he makes me feel like it is my fault that I cant lose weight...I tried to talk to him about the fact my band was too tight when I was stressed and he told me well you are going to have to figure out how to work with it...SO to go back to him is not something I WANT to do but I am just going to have to do it. I eat fine during the day. Tough and slow but I dont throw up during the day but when night hits NOTHING will go down. And as soon as I sleep I back up and wake up purging and coughing. And sleeping on an incline is not helping. After reading these posts I think It may have started with a stomach flu/cold. And maybe I still have it. I will post after going to my band Dr.

A Few Tips From A Slow Loser - Now Past Goal -
Cerrin replied to NewSho's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow! Thanks everyone for posting on this. My Dr dosent believe I should be doing any Restrictive diets and as long as I am not gaining he and I are ok with my slow loss...OK I am not Great with my slow loss BUT I am happier then possibly gaining. I have been adding Protein for the past few weeks and it is really starting to work PLUS My hair is comming back in. lol I have always had really thin hair and well I have a bunch of new growth and that is awesome! I eat a boiled egg for breakfast. And I try to have my version of tuna salad...Change out High protein greek yougart for the mayo. It is really good! Then I kinda do dinner as a whatever...just not a lot of food. Tostadas are my favorite...beans cheese sour cream YUMMMY! So I am working on higher protein and Well I am starting to see some movement. So Awesome! Good Luck all -
I use unjury unflavored. You can order some individual pouches on-line. As long as your not heating it up past a certin degree It dosent change anytihng. I add it to pudding So I get desert with a Protein kick to it. I also add it to cottage cheese and other food that is creamy. I was having a really hard time getting enough protein in my system. AND my doctor told me NO MORE Protein shakes. So I have been trying high protein meals...Boiled egg for Breakfast...Takes a while but I manage to get it down. and super high protein Tuna salad...I use Greek yougart instead of Mayo for less fat and more protein. Seems to be working And I also make hummus for an added snack/lunch.

My Doctor had told me I was gaining about 30 lbs a year. So even though I am a slow loser. I count those 30 lbs each year that Iwould have gained as a loss. Atleast in my brain. I cant see myself getting smaller. But my mom told me my butt looks smaller. So that made me feel good. lol Stop looking at what everyone else is doing. And just work on eatting healthy. And focus on YOU. Your doing it. Keep your head up and look forward not back. -
Well before surgery My Dr had me on a strict low carb to no carb then liquids the week before. all to shrink my liver for surgery. Then After surgery I was on stages of liquid to mushy purred then solid foods...My dr didnt have super strict time table on how long I had to be on liquids...just to go slow and be aware of the full sensation and If I was not staying full then I was to move to the next step.

lol I have found out that my body dosent work like others. If I concentrate of food and eatting healthy then I dont lose. No matter how many calories I get in. But if I ignore it I lose...I have to eat unsteady high calories one day low the next...for me to lose. If I stick to 1100 calories I may lose the first week...like 2lbs...but then I plateau till I start ignoring it again lol My body is so fickle lol Thank goodness I have the band where I can NOT concentrate on the amount I eat. I just have to remember to not eat crap and to not drink while eatting. I am getting a fill today and I am going to take this time to restart myself on the correct path. I miss excercising...but when you work 2 full time jobs there is honestly no time to work out. I am walking arround as much as possible...with out getting sweaty because of work. *sigh* 6 more weeks and I will hit the gym hard.

Phyl and I are slow losers! but We are still losing so that counts. Being heavy makes it difficult to work out at times. But every little bit helps. For me the Tax season makes it difficult for me to have any kind of life. lol Hopefuly with the new fill tommorrow I will have restriction again.

Reflecting after 2 years of changes....

I find I am having a hard time not drinking when I eat. I had a long period of not getting enough food in so I would drink to try and get some thing down. I kept waiting for the swelling to go down so I could eat normal again...but it never happened so My dr took Fluid out...and well I had picked up bad habits again. I am being tightened again tommorrow. Hopefuly I can achieve good habits with the new adjustment. I am a slow loser. but untill this unfill I had not gained anything back...so with the small 8lb gain I am determined to get back on track of losing. -
My little crock pot is not tiny but it is definitly smaller then all the others I have lol Probably good for a family of 2 or 3 So I just portion things out that way lol I believe I got mine at walmart for 10 dollars one year. I absolutly love it. With recipies using chicken breasts I use pre cut chicken strips or tenders. They just work better for me and my small pot. Good luck and feel free to e-mail me if you have a question about how to cut a recipie down...I am getting quite good at it lol

I, who also live alone, have found 2 different solutions. 1. First time I make something I bring it into work what is left from eatting one night making a portion for lunch and putting 1 more away for a later date for myself. Everyone at work loves it and I usualy get at least one more lunch from someone returning the favor. 2. The next time I make it I use my small crock pot and half the recipie. It seems to help using a smaller crock pot. and just halfing it. I still save money by cooking for myself and giving it away then I would by eatting out:thumbup:

I went on a cruse after being banded...I was super tight. Not loose. I had trouble eatting anything. They do have plenty of healthy things available...lots of baked fish and salids. I would honestly not worry about it. I am going on another one this year. Me and my Band dont travel well. And I love to travel But eatting when traveling is really difficult for me. I would sugest you bring some Protein shake stuff just in case. But I definitly suggest you not sweating the food the more you worry about it the more you will want to eat it...

Cerrin replied to christasha's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
wow. Good luck. I had to have a bunch of fluid removed due to swelling...all complications from getting poison oak last summer and the meds I had to take. But I have been unfilled for a month and I made the apointment yesterday to get fluid back in the band. I am super loose now. I can eat everything. And I am so hungry that I almost do. -
Sorry I was looking at the Tortilla soup. I love a good Tortilla soup. I havent been able to get pork chops down since I was banded.

Treadmill VS Elliptical
Cerrin replied to bandster_1007's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I want to get one...but I just dont have any space for it. I think that as soon as I ass the covered back deck on I might be able to get one for out there but I dont know how it will work out. I am going to rent a Wii for a month to see if I will use it enough to actualy buy it. -
Your new eatting habbits will evvect your breath. But I sugest you get a tounge scraper. And maybe a dental Water pic. What kind of foods are you eatting? more spice then before? lots of Protein shakes? more garlic? As for the dry mouth. It could also be a dental thing. plaque will make your mouth and throat feel really dry. What does your breath smell like? You might be having gum issues and need to see your dentist.

What are the benefits of doing yoga or meditating?
Cerrin replied to aadrika's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Meditating is not a religious thing. It can be, but not for any specific religion. I am budhist we meditate to bring one self peace and center yourself. My mother who is Christian meditates to bring herself peace and center herself. She has done this for a long time and started during a bible retreat. Meditating is a great way to releave the stress of the world. It really helps you gather yourself and can really help you focus on the important things. And to stop stressing about the things you have no control over. Yoga is a great way to lengthen the muscles to give your body a sleaker look. It is also really good to help you increase your stamina. Holding those poses is hard. Balancing is a great way to stabalise yourself. I say go for it. -
I didnt have a group of guys back then that would do that for me. I do now. :cursing:
