You should quit before any surgery but I guess it depends on how your surgeon feels. You want to set yourself up for as much chance to succeed without complications as possible. Whats more important to you healing right or that two minutes with a cig? It won't be easy but it really is better in the long haul. -

Being a smoker can interfere with the healing process because of circulation issues and skin something or other. I'm not preaching because Ive have my share of bad habits but the sooner you quit the better you will heal. -
My surgeon requires a 3 day 2 night stay and then at least 2 weeks off.

I was told that alcohol is a no-go like caffein since it isn't good for the pouch. Is this just my Dr, or is it just a strong recommendation?

December Surgeries!?!?!?

Scheduled my surgery for December 5th--Drs office says insurance will be good by then even though its only 3 weeks. Trusting them since they are the ones who scheduled it. Fingers crossed everything goes according to plan I will be happy to start the new year with a changed lifestyle. Good Luck to everyone else, and I am very glad to have found this forum.
