Congrats! You're one day before me.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I like that there are so many fellow December sleevers as well and look forward to hearing everyone's stories but I think once December hits I will probably just start a new thread saying December 1st-5th sleevers or something like that and whoever wants to follow that thread can. For me, I think it will be nice to have the support and be able to talk to others going through exactly what I am at exactly the same time.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi everyone, I have a suggestion. Since December is fast approaching and this thread has over a thousand responses, it's getting hard to keep up with everyone and their sleeve dates. Would anyone be interested when December hits to maybe start new threads so that the ones who are sleeved within a few days can keep track of each other's journeys since we will be going through exactly the same things at the same times. Any suggestions on how to categorize? Maybe something like Dec 1-5 Dec 6-10 Or even a week at a time. What do you guys all think? I'm sure we are all very happy to have so many people being sleeved in December like ourselves but I'm also sure we will probably be paying closer attention to those who are sleeved the same day or within a day or two of ourselves more.

Most of my tops are outdated from years ago so I won't be recycling any of them. But when I lost weight long ago, I went on a jeans shopping spree, all the size 12s and have kept them hoping one day to fit in them again. And luckily enough, all the jeans are basically the same style as now so I'm good there for a while. Only jeans I don't have are skinny jeans but that's not really my style anyway Lol

    The Dreaded Cellulite!

50 lbs is a lot in my opinion! So great job so far! I have about 75 to lose to be bak at a weight I was happy at. But if I can lose about 20-25 more I would be ecstatic!

    The Dreaded Cellulite!

Ok ladies. I have a question. We all know that the awful cottage cheese lumpy looking dimples, otherwise known as cellulite, are just our fat deposits. And no matter how much we may work out, if we have excess fat, it's not going away. It might be a little firmer, but it's still there. So, to all of you that have lost a fair amount of weight already, do you see a decrease in all the cellulite? I for one am hoping next summer to not have to wear Bermuda shorts!!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I am also getting sleeved on the 3rd. Sorry for the short notice you received but I wouldn't worry about missing a day. All doctors require different liquid diet pre op phases. Some one week, some two, or more. My doctor actually only requires one day of liquids the day before surgery. Thank God, cuz I don't think I could do it. But don't even give it another thought missing one day., you'll be fine.

I am just looking to fit into all the clothes I still have in my closet that I haven't worn in years. My skinny clothes I call them. I am mostly a size 16, tight though, sometimes 18. I have size 14s and size 12s. Last time I wore all my 12s was about 75 lbs ago. And speaking of which, wouldn't you think that a 75 weight loss would drop me more than just 2-3 sizes? But I do look forward to just shopping anywhere really and having the stuff I try on actually fit!

    Hair Loss

I am hoping to be sleeved in early December and I am most scared about hair loss. I have read the hair loss section in the veterans forum and it didn't make me feel any better. My hair is med length but it is very very thin. I try to use hair strengthening shampoos and not dry or flat iron it every day to help it. It has helped but it's still extremely thin. Top, newer hair is a little thicker but not much. Don't think I can handle it if I lose what little hair I already have

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi. New here. Hoping to be sleeved on Dec 3rd. Will know at the end of week if my insurance will cover it. If not, I'm going to Mexico! I will get this surgery one way or another. It's going to be hard getting it done in December as I have about 5 different holiday parties, Christmas as well as starting a new job. I know it's a lot and I'm a little sad I won't be able to eat or drink at any of these, but then again, I don't want to gain the usual holiday weight or feel uncomfortable in all these social settings like I usually am because of my weight. Looking forward to all the fellow December sleevers stories as we will all be going through this together.

  13. With my Doctor, he only requires one day of liquids the day before surgery. This was a huge relief for me as I have read so many posts about 1 and 2 week liquid diets pre op. But now that I may have to go to Mexico to have this surgery, can you tell me what diet the doctors there require? I am possibly using Dr Illan. But do most Mexico doctors require the same pre op diet and what is it exactly?

    Mexico Dr Illan Pre-Op Diet?

Thanks kyrie. One week doesn't sound fun to me so I can imagine what two weeks is like. What I don't like is that my United States doctor said one day and a lot of other doctors say one or two weeks. I think to myself if I have it done in Mexico would they really know if I only did it for a few days preop
  15. Hi therei am currently awaiting word from my insurance company to get the sleeve here in the United States. I am on the border with my BMI, 34.9,so I have a feeling I might be denied. No other factors to help out my plea unfortunately. So I am looking into Mexico as an alternative. Learning some great information here. I am down to two doctors. Dr illan and dr and sr alverez. I am leaning toward dr illan because of the cheaper price though. What are your thoughts between the two?

    Between 2 Doctors

Sorry about the typos. Couldn't see what I was writing as I was writing it. Weird. That was supposed to read, I'm between dr Illan and dr alverez.
