I'm still going through my full liquid phase so maybe about 600

The hospital knew I had dietary restrictions and never had to say a word. They all knew why I was there. I was on a clear liquid diet So for bfast lunch and dinner I was served the exact same thing....broth, jello, tea, crystal light. I managed to get down one broth once and the tea. Jello was not agreeing w me. And I would rather ice chips and water over their juice.

I'm 5'10 and started at 245lbs. I was just sleeved a week ago. I would love to be 170 as that puts me in a size 12 jeans perfectly. If I lost a little more I wouldn't complain tho :-) In high school I was this height and weighed 144 every year. I look at my 15 yr old son who is about an inch taller and weighs 140 and I honestly think he looks too skinny. Now granted, he is a boy with different bone structure but he's kinda what I used to look like way back then. And honestly, that would be too skinny for me now. And to think, back then, I thought I was soooo fat! If only.....

I was sleeved on the 3rd. I remember waking up from anesthesia and immediately feeling the pain. As I was still groggy I was saying ow and the nurses gave me meds right away. I guess they had taken the catheter out already cuz it wasn't in. I actually didn't even know I was getting one in. My boyfriend told me later on that they mentioned something about it and me having to pee before I left but I was so doped up I guess I missed that part. I went to the bathroom no problem tho. I was in a surgery center where it's a same day procedure. I went home that evening feeling ok, still pretty doped up, and I took my meds that night before bed. I slept for about 2 hours before I awoke and was in extreme pain. I was up for the next few hours trying everything to make the pain go away. I walked, took meds, gas x (even tho I didn't feel like I had any gas) sat, stood. Nothing worked and I couldn't take the pain anyway. I called my doctor who told me to go to the hospital. I did and I was given a shot for pain and eventually checked into a room. I stayed an additional night on pain meds and it made a world of difference. If I had to choose again I'd have it done in a hospital overnight so they could control my pain. I, like you, read so many stories of everyone feeling great that I thought a same day procedure would be fine. Boy was I wrong! Now I'm 6 days out and I still have some pains here and there. Incisions are fine and I sleep well. Only issues I really have is a cramp in my stomache every time I put anything in it. I know that will get better tho. Or at least I hope it will. I'm sorry it hasn't been so great for you but it sound like u have it under control now. Don't worry about weighing yourself. We are all different and I'm sure when u go to the doctor u will be so excited to hear what u have actually lost.

I'm 5'10 as well and I'm just like u.. Always like seeing others who are my height to compare to. I was sleeved on Dec 3rd and am down 12 lbs post op. SW 247 CW 235 I've been extremely happy at around 170 myself so for me, that's my first goal. I can't even imagine being 150 but would sure be nice! Good luck tomoro and I look forward to seeing ur progress.

I have a feeling I may be too. I'm a lower bmi. I would like to lose around 80lbs and I'm pretty tall too 5'10.

Yes they are as I didn't lose any weight from just the one day

I was sleeved on Dec 3rd. Just one day of preop liquids for me. I would like to lose 77 lbs as my goal. If I succeed, I may lose a little more but if not, I'd be happy to just lose the 77. I have lost 9 lbs so far.

I have been taking the 2oz bottles of Dymatize Elite shots from GNC. They were on sale for $1.97 a bottle. Easy to take and a great way to get protein in. The protein shakes can be as much as 10-14 oz in a bottle with 25g protein. Ur if ur newly sleeved good luck trying to drink that much. So for me, the little bottles work out good. I did put a call in to my doctor to make sure those were ok. Still waiting to hear bak tho.

Hi Tami, who was ur doctor? My diet sounds the same. Days 1-3 clear liquid days 3-21 full liquids then a week or 2 of soft then onto normal eating

So great it must have felt! Very happy for you. I had a question for u though. I believe I read that u said ur SIL was in a size 18-20 herself? If that was true, I would think that makes it even worse that she looked down on you. Who is she to say anything! And now it's been a few days, have u heard anything from her yet or have u heard she has commented to anyone else?

This was the absolute best thread! I am being sleeved on Tuesday, ahhhh but all the feelings everyone has talked about with members of their families, I can relate. No one has ever said anything negative to me per se, but I have one member who constantly talks about diet with me and always looking me up and down and also at what I eat. So annoying! I can't wait to see her at Xmas when hopefully I'll be at least 20 lbs down and then any other holiday where she can't do anything but look at me and be jealous. Btw, no one knows I'm having the surgery

How did u make out with insurance? Are they covering it?

I'm with ya on the not really being nervous thing. I have done so much research and read so many things that i honestly feel like I am as ready as I'll ever be. I just want to be done with it already!

I know I had you all excited in the other thread about horizon and them covering my surgery. But I see that u have BCBS Advantage. Not sure what that is. Mine is Horizon BCBS HMOAccess. Not sure if they are the same so I really hope it gets covered for you, especially since you switched insurance companies. Which doctor are you using?

All normal feelings. I'll be getting sleeved on the 3rd as well! So we can go through this together day by day.

This doesn't seem to work. When I go to profile there is only a way to add a picture. Nothing in top right corner to click on. Any ideas on how here to go to change? I am using an iPad if that makes a difference.

My doctor would not write my letter because she said I can control my weight with diet and exercise. Yeah ok, if that were the case I wouldn't be looking into wls. Duh. Anyway, I am also on the border with my bmi which is 34.9 I also have no other underlying symptoms like sleep apnea, acid reflux, diabetes etc... So if your bmi is higher and/or you have any accompanying symptoms, hopefully they approve you as well. Good luck!

I have BCBS NJ and my doctor wouldn't write me a letter. The coordinator that I work with said that BCBS is one of the easiest companies to get approval from. NJ anyway. Not sure about other states. Anyway, all she submitted was, my behavioral and nutritional evaluations and a letter written by me stating why I felt i needed the surgery. She submitted it on a Thursday and it was approved on Wednesday. We also wrote that my surgery was already scheduled for Dec 3rd. Don't know if they hurry things along or not since the date was close (I doubt it tho) but they approved very quickly. I was shocked quite honestly that it was approved without a doctors recommendation. So much so, that I looked into and even booked my surgery to be done in Mexico as a self pay. Good luck to you. Every doctor is different. Yes, the longer you do the liquid diet the more your liver may shrink but I guess some doctors are ok with different times. I've heard some say to do 1 week, 2 weeks, some more, some have said it's ok if you fall off the wagon one day etc... My doctor only requires 1 day of liquids the day before. Obviously my liver isn't shrinking in one day. I think they also put you on a liquid diet to help get you used to our new way of eating. Seeing all the different rules from doctors, I wouldn't worry if you weren't perfect for every single day. But that's just me personally. I think everyone should follow their doctors orders.
