R there any Dec 2013 sleevers
Stacy_wls replied to chanelle102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am down about 45 lbs. I had surgery on the 12th. Don't stress about the numbers, just your behaviors. Just because you can eat more doesn't mean you need to. I know I eat less when I portion it out correctly. I try not to get the full feeling - it's better to eat a little less than that and just be satisfied. I am staying away from carbs for the most part except veggies and a little fruit. Most meals are 2-3 oz of Protein and a quarter cup of veggies. Check out myfitnesspal diary if you like. Your progress is good - you can't control the number, just your behavior. -
Work Travel - weight fluctuations (blah!)
Stacy_wls posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone! I just started back at work. My work generally required me to travel 4 days a week and typically work very long hours. This makes eating right and exercising more of a challenge. Yesterday as I was on my way back home, I was feeling great. My project is interesting and going great! I worked out everyday - found a yoga and spinning studio that I could drop in at. I ate well - with one not so fantastic, but not horrible meal out with the client and supplier. So I was just feeling like I had this - I could do it. This morning when I weight myself, I was up 1.2 lbs. It is so frustrating! The weight loss had already been slowing down, so I was hoping for a good drop. Could this be Water retention from the airline travel? I know this is normal and if I keep doing everything I should then things will move. But ahh! It is a mind f*!k. I hope everyone has a great Friday. thanks for listening. -
Work Travel - weight fluctuations (blah!)

Thank you guys! I just went to the gym and feel great. The scale is just a number, but feeling great is the real goal right. (I'm still kind of addicted to the scale, but am trying to get away from it. -
Today: 236.2 first stall . I am hoping I am retaining water because I was flying yesterday. It's a bummer because before my rip I had hit my goal of 235. Hard to do most everything right and come home to a gain.

I love (LOVE!) Chike. I have it every morning. I also like unjury chocolate splendor, but only have that on rare days when I need 2 Protein shakes. -
Let's talk CARBS!
Stacy_wls replied to cathibass13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My carbs tend to be about 50 per day. I'm truly not watching them all that much. I am more focusing on protein and then veggies. My carbs are coming from veggies, protein shakes, and vitamins. -
My Lunch: A Pictorial Attempt To Show You Life Will Be Normal

I have those same little bowls from target! It makes serving my meals so much easier. When I use regular size plates / bowls I over serve myself. -

I'm 5'10. I know I'm a ways away. I was at 195 about 12 years ago and was in a 12/14. I know I can get smaller than that, but it is still hard to imagine. Looking forward to the ride. -

I am concerned my goal is unreasonable. It changes a bit, but really I was hoping to be about 170. I'm trying not to stress about it, the numbers are dropping and things are going well. I will have to see where things end up. Really I would like to be able to shop at any store and not have to worry about them having my size. That would be glorious. -
How long did it take your mind to catch up with your body?
Stacy_wls replied to Comfy_Blue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I second what buffleheads says. Every morning I look at myself in the mirror in just my bra and undies. I smile at myself and tell myself how good I am doing. I am taking notice of the small things, my stretch marks getting smaller, my chin and cheeks coming back. I am also enjoying the big. Things: feeling stronger and healthier. It is easy to see all of the stuff that isn't perfect. We will never be perfect - even super models don't think they are perfect, so we need to enjoy our progress and make peace with our bodies. Enjoy what you can do today that you couldn't do yesterday. -
Today 236.5. 1.5 lbs to valentines goal!
-
I am getting close to 800 calories per day. I really focus on Protein avg 60-80 g / day.

I'm 7 weeks out and doing lots of cardio. I ran 3 miles yesterday. I'm also doing spinning and playing ice hockey. I started doing yoga as well each is great. I have been working out almost every day. I think I may be replacing my food addiction with exercise, but that may be ok. Once I see my surgeon on Monday I am hoping to be released to start lifting weights. Then I will add that in about 2 days per week. My doctor said I was free to do cardio as long as I was not hurting. I worked up slowly with walk / running and my strength has really come back well.

So bored by food
Stacy_wls replied to GotItDoneInHarlem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My slow cooker has become my best friend. The meat becomes so soft that I have not had trouble with anything. I love Asian food, so have done those types of recipes, but there are so many recipes out there, just do a search online. -
Finally got home. Weight is 240.2 I am hoping I. Am retaining some water from the flight which will quickly go away.
-
I am not home. I won't be able to weigh until Sunday. Good job everyone!

Does anyone know why we dont sweat anymore? or it takes a long time to begin to sweat when working out ?
Stacy_wls replied to OHHLALA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I noticed the same thing when I first started working out after surgery. I think there are a couple things going on . 1). You are probably slightly dehydrated, so your body won't put out as much sweat. 2). When you are out of. Shape your body doesn't react as quickly - you cooling system is out of shape, so you won't sweat as much. After about 4 weeks of exercising and getting my Water in, I have started sweating again like crazy during hard workouts. -
I'm going out of the country at 6 weeks out. I have packed my Protein powder( and magic bullet), but am planning on getting most of my nutrients from food. I really have not had any problem with any food that I have introduced. I am moving into the full healthy diet this week. I have yet to try raw fruits and vegetables, so that is still questionable.

How often do you weigh?
Stacy_wls replied to Holly Lewis's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I weigh everyday that I am at home. So lately it is everyday. Once I go back to work, it will be only Fridays - Sundays. I think it helps for motivation and correction if things start to get off track. We have all been through weight loss so many times that we understand that weight fluctuates because of many things, so I will just need to keep this in mind when things go in the wrong direction.
