Considering Sleeve Surgery
sissy13 replied to terri07's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Unfortunately the surgery did not help my acid reflux I have to take prilosec daily. Surgery was 11/12/13 I didn't have any problems with surgery after the 1st night other then getting dehydrated. I came home with pain meds and didnt even take them. The surgery has been such a great tool for me and I'm am very happy I did it. I have lost 42lbs post op and 15lbs pre op total 57lbs. Gone down pants sizes from 20 to 16. It is definitely a "journey" though and u need to be prepared mentally for it. So I agree read and research all u can. Good luck -
I felt same way but its not too bad. I have my days sometimes when I think what have I done but when I get on that scale its all worth it. I dont really care to eat like I use to but I can't so I don't dwell on it. I feel so much better and looking better too (people notice me morr now love it).

I'm peeing atleast 3X's a day so idk. I'm still not getting all 64oz of water like they want me too but doing better then I was before I got dehydrated. I do know I don't feel bad like I did when I was dehydrated and no burning or pain when I do go just wierd. The amount seems normal when I go but the stream not so much (if that makes sense) lol. Gonna ask doc but curious if anyone else experienced this.

Congrats

I'm 6 weeks out tomorrow and within the past week and half I can tolerate water where before I couldn't (I even got dehydrated). I never had a problem with being able to eat ice just couldn't do the water. Hang in there and keep trying. I got tired of hearing it gets better but I promise it will

Good luck with ur journey. I was sleeved 11-12-13. I had to do a 6mo thing with my pcp before ins would cover surgery. During that time I lost 15lbs. Morning of surgery I weighed 260. I was very nervous the day before surgery but surprisingly I wasn't too nervous that morning. I had a rough 1st night in recovery threw up/dry heaved all night so I had to stay an extra night but the next day was better. It took me a couple of weeks to feel 100% human again but overall had a good experience. Only issue i have had is i got dehydrated and needed fluids at 3 1/2 weeks out bc i couldnt get enough fluid in. Still having a hard time with that but getting better. At 5 weeks out I got on scale and for 1st time in 15 years the scale was under 250 (I almost cried). I'm at 227 now and so excited to see whats in store for me . I wish u well for ur journey. Good luck!

I didn't have any outter staples either just steri-strips. I'm 5 weeks out and can't still eat much. I'm on soft food phase and usually only eat 2 meals which consists of around 6 bites (and I'm stuffed) then I usually do a snack once a day and a morning protein shake. Not eating much or drinking much at all but what I do have fills me up. I guess I'll take it because im down 33lbs since surgery and 48 since beginning of my journey.

I am feeling great. Had a rough start with dehydration bout but thank God that's water under the bridge. I'm now on soft food phase. Enjoying trying few new foods but can't eat much which is ok I'm just glad to be feeling human again lol. Still having trouble getting my water in everyday but its getting better. On a positive note I got on scale in for 1st time in 15yrs it read under 250 ...started my journey 6mo before surgery date weighing 275 surgery was 11/12/13 I weighed 260 and now 12/15/13 I'm 230...I'm so happy.
