You know you lost weight when
jewelgirl replied to Thomas CPA's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When your sports bra is loose on you, when you cross your legs. -
I also use it in my protein shakes. I use unsweetened kind, only 60 cals per cup. I actually only use half a cup of it and half a cup if water so I don't add a lot of calories to my shakes. Makes them creamier.

1 1/2 years after the sleeve
jewelgirl replied to makeupartist80's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
What time frame did it take to drop to 118? I started off at 250 lbs and I am currently weighing 174. A huge accomplishment, but I am still clinically obese. Just wanted to see where I stand I am 9 mo post op sleeve -
Juicing is so amazing
jewelgirl replied to CurvyCakes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I juice on and off. I got recipes from Pinterest boards. Rule of thumb is lots of veggies and a little bit of fruit to sweeten it up. My favorite is spinach or kale, carrots, celery, cucumber, an apple or pineapple (small amount) and a pinch of ginger. Very satisfying, very good, and I feel wonderful when I juice. I don't do it for every meal. Maybe as breakfast or lunch as a meal replacement. -

Thanks! I'm actually using that protein too.
-
As anyone tried the system body by vi? It consists of shakes, cereal, etc. One of my friends is pushing the product so I am interested, but is it a scam? If someone forces a product down my throat I tend to resist and wonder why they are promoting it so much. Maybe because they are selling it? Is it just protein shakes? I am 9 months post op gastric sleeve, down 76 lbs, but I still have another 30 to go. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

I kept it a secret until I had my surgery date and there was no turning back. I did my research and when my parents had their doubts, I had the knowledge to back up my decision. Ultimately they are just wanting to protect me as their child (even though I'm 32 lol). I would do the same for my daughter. I had my surgery as planned, only told my husband,my step daughter, and my parents. After the surgery I told my friends and family. When they saw my happiness and success, my parents supported my decision. Do it for YOU. It's your happiness and health.

Non-plus size stores...where did you go first?
jewelgirl replied to PuraVida37's topic in The Gals' Room
Congrats! I am now shopping in non plus size stores too. I just bought a few bras at Victoria secret and black heart (stores I dreamed of but could not fit into) and I bought my first size medium top at the Gap!!! No more plus size for me. I also would recommend pants at American eagle. I like the high waisted jeggings. -

Scared of losing hair............
jewelgirl replied to Memily's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had the gastric sleeve in April and I did lose some hair. It has stopped and growing back. Luckily I had a lot of hair to start with. Now I just have annoying baby hairs. My teeth and gums had no change. My heart is in better health since I am down 70 lbs and now not in danger due to obesity. Losing some of my hair was a small price to pay for a healthier me. Also, you don't lose hair to the point where it's noticeable. My hair just thinned but I wasn't bald. -
Scared of losing hair............
jewelgirl replied to Memily's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes you will lose hair around month 4 post op. It stops about month 7 post op. I have a ton of baby hairs now which means my hair is growing back! Take biotin. I also use Aveda Invati hair system. It helps. -

Never got an email but finally discovered the switch through my notifications and the app wouldn't load. I tried logging in with my old account info... Nothing. Had my password reset twice and both times it said incorrect password. Sent an email to resolve the problem... Nothing. So I have a new account. Lost all my info. Old account:Aubreanna new account: jewelgirl. Super frustrated.
