    Smoking

We are a non-smoking household and do not allow anyone to smoke in our home but e-cigs are allowed. My son smokes e-cigs and makes his own e-liquids. I actually like the fragrance.

Tilapia-Yum! I tolerate fish/shrimp/crab better than chicken or beef.

    "Operation Operation"

Knt4ever. Fortunately I had the morphine "button" when I woke up in recovery and I was so glad. I in a lot of pain but after pushing the button 3 or 4 times I was very comfortable. My pain was managed very well while I spent one day hospitalized. Once I came home I took Vicodin as needed. The pain was not bad at all. I described it as like being punched in the stomach. It only lasted about 4 days. Best of luck to you.

    Grieving food?

I am (was) a soda junkie and drank diet soda up until my surgery in July. Since the surgery I have not craved soda at all. I tasted my son's soda and it didn't even taste good to me at all. I hope it stays this way for me.

I only weigh and measure myself on the 2nd of each month (anniversary date of surgery). It helps to keep me from being discouraged and heightens the anticipation and excitement when I read the results.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

That's a good idea. I was thinking when I resize my wedding ring I could still wear the eternity ring behind it like I always do. Since the diamonds go all the way around it doesn't matter that it turns. If not, like someone else suggested I will put it on a chain.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

All my rings need to be resized but I need to wait since I am only 5 months out. My diamond eternity band can't be resized. I'm so sad about that.

Has anyone tried the cottage cheese test?

I eat cottage cheese with pineapple several times a week. I can eat approximately 1/3 cup without the pineapple. I usually add 6 chunks/bites of canned pineapple and a little juice. YUM!

    How about some NSVs!?!?

My rings keep slipping off! And I can wear an 18 inch chain/necklace without it looking like I'm trying to strangle myself.

    That is so awesome!

    What ya eating tonight?

I crave vegetables all the time. My faves are fried eggplant, brussel sprouts, peas and canned spinach. I know, I know - canned spinach sounds gross. But I love it and eat it right out of the can. I just told my husband today that I want him to grill a tri tip this weekend and I'm going to make some roasted winter vegetables.

    5 Months Post Op

I am five months post op and have lost 92 lbs. I have lost 13 inches in my bust. 14 inches in my waist and 12 inches in my hips. I only weigh and measure myself on the second of each month, the date of my surgery. Sometimes I get discouraged when I read posts about others who have lost more and have had their surgery around the same time that I did but as so many have said everyone is different. Try not to compare yourself and be proud of your own accomplishments !

    Help...I'm Falling Off The Wagon

I'm only five months post op and a sugar addict. Up until the day before my surgery I had to have something sweet before bed, I. E. Cookies, ice cream, sweet Cereal. I also am a soda junkie. I am just now starting to crave sweets again but I find that if I have a few bites of fresh fruit it satisfied my sweet tooth. Hang in there and keep plenty of fresh fruit on hand.

    Hobbies Anyone?

I like to cross-stitch. I cross-stitch baby pillows for friends with baby's name, meaning of their name and a Bible Scripture. Last year I cross-stitched Christmas cards. I also like to make homemade Christmas ornaments out of lace - usually angels, stars, Victorian wreaths and fans.

I feel bad keeping my surgery private

I had my surgery almost five months ago and still have not told anybody in my church except my pastor (who had rny), his wife and his daughter ( who had the sleeve). I could name a dozen or more people off the top of my head who attend my church and have had wls sadly I could name half of them who gained weight back, some even more. There are a few friends who have been vocal about their opinions against wls which is part of the reason I keep it private. I need support and encouragement not someone telling me I am making a huge mistake. It's my private business and unfortunately it's our church family that tends to gossip more than people outside the church.
  23. Yes. I will call the bariatric nurse and/or my doctor. This is really scaring me. I just took a glucose tablet and ate half a protein bar and feel better. I just want off this roller coaster ride!
  24. Here I go again. My blood sugar dropped to 43. This up and down all day is wearing me out. I get the shakes, I perspire and I get spotty vision. Not fun
