Warning<< Gastric Sleeve Surgery Failure Dr Rod
TheNewSusie replied to kacee109's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This post should be deleted because their is no support here. It's one person bashing "Mexican" doctors when their are very high skilled doctors who have degrees and certificates who know what they are doing no matter where they r from. People saying that if you don't do the procedure in the US you're wasting ur money , give me a break. If US healthcare is so great, why is it that I can NOT get insurance because I have type one diabetes and I'm considered "high risk" and I have to pay out of pocket for my insulin. This post is a waste of time. -

Alvarez Price Vs Us?

U mind me asking how much ur cousin lost ? -
I haven't been sleeved yet but I already know I've made the perfect choice. Meeting him in person did not surprise me one bit. I agree about him being passionate and loving what he does.

Alvarez Price Vs Us?
TheNewSusie replied to made2beme's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I personally chose him because of experience. I live in Houston and I know Dallas has competitive prices, but I honestly wouldn't choose any other, I know Mexico has a lower cost of living and that's why it's cheaper, but his hospital is less than a mile over the border and that may be why he's a bit more costly. I got the chance to meet him last week, and that made me even more confident in choosing him. Hope that helps. -
Mine is a little tangy and spicy here's how I make it: Boil one can of garbanzo Beans in a can on medium heat for 10-15 minutes, (until soft) you will then drain the Water out and place the hot beans in a robo coupe , to that add 1/2 to 1 jalapeño with or w/o seeds depending on how spicy you like it. Then add a cup of tahini paste , two garlic cloves and a 1/2 cup of fresh lemon juice. Blend until smooth. If its too thick add ice cold water (drain the ice) until you get the desired consistency (1/3-1/2 cup usually is the most you need) To serve: spread hummus on a plate and add some evoo just enough to taste and dip and garnish paprika and fresh chopped parsley. you can eat it with or on about anything! Yum! This is as traditional as hummus gets (I'm Arab so I know, lol)

Click Protein Powder?
TheNewSusie replied to starsleeve's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Wow lots of vitamins and things we need. Maybe that can make up for so many vitamins we take ?!? -
Even if I had insurance approval I feel I would not even think twice about my decision

Try buying a juicer , I have one and I love it. You don't get the same texture but u get all natural fruit juice.

It may sound gross to some but I live hummus. I make my own. I add a teaspoon of olive oil because that's how it's garnished and it adds good flavor and I just eat it like that or you can eat it wrapped up with ur favorite lunch meat.

Eating And Then Going To Sleep
TheNewSusie replied to june13sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told not to eat anything three hours before sleep. -
Thank you skinny! Good luck with ur insurance. Pm me anytime hun
-
No they don't need ur medical forms because when u fill out the patient history form it kinda answers all the questions they need answered. Good luck with ur doctor but even if someone here offered it cheaper I would NOT change my decision.

I met a few patients and they looked great. He had a patient reunion that he has every year but I couldn't stay. The other patients looked great and I can't wait to be their shoes.

In order to hold ur date it is $1000 deposit, which also gets deducted off the total of $8750. It holds ur place and you can change it at anytime, it's also non refundable. I'm not worried about the border because I've crossed the border before , not this border but the tx/matamoros border, and nothing happened. He's a little more costly but I went with my feeling and how he treated me and always responds to my messages and calls. Susan his assistant will answer all ur questions too. If you go to his website you can try out financing on his website . I got approved but it fell through because he's not certified here in the USA. He has done about 4200 sleeves and his leak rate is very low. The leaks happened only 5-6 times and it was either a revision on someone eating a sandwich or something while healing. Their fault not his. I'm happy with my decision and look forward to his help each day.

I'm going to Dr. Alvarez in July! He's is great, I had the pleasure to meet him a few days ago and couldn't be happier. Susan, his assistant is wonderful. She always replies to emails pretty quickly and is always ahead of the game. I can answer questions if you'd like.

Click Protein Powder?
TheNewSusie replied to starsleeve's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I want to order it so bad. I don't drink hot coffee too much but can drink a cold one all day long and this sounds like the perfect fit! Thanks for posting -
I am also insulin resistant and have been for 15 1/2 years. I'm 30 now and it just gets harder. My doctor told me I will always need insulin due to being type one, but I will be taking way less once I'm sleeved and I can't wait!
