Should I go pescatarian and dairy free for one month with my sleeve?
TheNewSusie posted a topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Know I need my protein, and being 21 months out and losing 90 pounds has been great, but I really would love to get to 145. I'm 5'6" and 160 now. I've started working out 4 days a week and wonder if changing up my diet for one month may help?!? Really unsure on what to do. I'm strictly low carb, 20-30 grams a day. I wanna give up dairy because I love cheese way too much, it's the first thing I grab when I open the fridge, and the quickest snack we have in my home. If love some help and insight and wonder if this is a good choice/ challenge for me? I hate my stomach! ;( -

Thanks ladies for the replies, only reason I said a month is because I wanted to see if I feel and see a change, and if I do, then I'll stick to it, if not, then I'll go back to high protein from all sources. I did it today and I feel awesome! I'll keep updated and see what happens in a month. If anyone else wants to chime in opinions, feel free!! -

pre.sleeve but dreaming of plastics.

I'm dreaming of plastics too! I have a date with Dr. Quiroz in MX for June, but I know ill have to cancel because I won't have the money and my wedding is in October too! -
I don't know where to start, what a life change and what a life saver my sleeve gave me. I started out at 250 pounds, at 5'6". My ultimate goal was 150 and a size 10, now I'm 160 and a size 4/6!! One day I'll get to that 150, if it wasn't for my muffin top and extra skin, I'd be my impression of perfect, I plan on doing some kind of boot camp classes soon and hoping that will help me. We all go through a lot making this life change, I don't regret anything except that I wish I can find a new motivation for some kind of new exercise routine because the gym gets boring and old! I stick to 13-1500 hundred cals and barely even hit 1000 most days. I gotta have my iced coffee every morning and Water and iced tea as well as my flavored drops to keep my hydrated. I do extremely low carb, 20-30 max daily and that's due to my type one diabetes and if I eat more carbs and sugars that leads to more insulin. I feel like I've cured myself with changing my habits. I love who I am now more and feel way more confident than before! Thank you Dr. Alvarez !!

I'm a 4/6 and was a 20/22 at 5'6" I still think I'm big because of loose skin and a muffin top. I'm 160 and was 250 DOS 7/2012

It was a better option for me. My doctor came and did a seminar in Houston and I knew my choice after that. I'd do it again tomorrow.

I didn't know it was used for all that. Good to know. I just grew up with my mom using it in baking,

It's used in middle eastern recipes for baking. I make what us Arabs call hilbeh and it's not healthy at all. Tastes great though with all that simple syrup soaked in the little cookie cakes

I double brew mine the night before and then out it in my big cup with sugar free vanilla. The next morning I take my lactose free mootopoa vanilla 1/4 cup, and mix it with stevia and vanilla whey. Quite delicious!

That's great! It sure is hard though, I'm a certified chef too... -
I'm 21 months out and I've been type one for 17 years. I always carry quest bats on hand when my bs drops. I take 3-5 units of novolin N and 1-2 units of Novolin R when I over due the carbs. I used to take a mix of both at 60 units a day and easily 150 carbs a day. I keep my carbs 20-30 a day and drink my water. Also have single vanilla protein packets in my purse that I mix with milk when I'm at work or a mix the milk and protein mixture with my iced coffee and it brings it back up.

Thank u!! Sounds like something I need. I will definitely look into that and I want to start weight training as well. Great tips!

Hey all, so I'm down 90 pounds. I bounce from 161-164 and I really want to see my numbers of 145-150. I'm 5'6", so that would be normal for me. Wondering if I should protein and liquid diet it for a week to jump start myself? I eat extremely low carb 20-30 day, sometimes I exercise , I work in a restaurant 6 days a week and I get worn out! I'd love some tips or tricks and motivation to get me where I need to be. Ready for my LBL in June! -Susie

Thanks for your reply queen. I've tried 5:2 but since I'm a type one diabetic, I couldn't do it because my BS always dropped on fast days and I ended up being sick each time. I do have a fitbit, thanx for the tip.

I Have a wide variety of jeans from sizes 8-12. Wore each pair maybe 2-3 times. Bought them all from $50-70 a pair and will take $15-20 a pair plus shipping. Tired of looking at these and not being able to wear them because I shrunk! Lol! -

What a transformation! Now I wanna go shopping, lol. Does express run small or normal? I'm a size 4/6 and always worry their clothes may be too small. I was a 22!! Inspiring!
