Well I've been narrowing down my choices, and at this point I think it will probably come down to who gives me the best price between Ortiz, Gonzales and Rumbaut. I have heard such wonderful things about all of them, that aside from flipping a coin I can't think of any better way to choose which one. For those of you who are already banded, thanks for the support! you will be seeing me here often, and for those that are about to be banded...good luck, I'll be joining you shortly!! jill

I've been researching doctors in Mexico and have narrowed it down to Gonzales, Alvarez and Rumbault, but you guys may just convince me to go with Gonzales. I am a little nervous about going to Mexico, I'll be going alone, but I've made my decision and I know that it's the right thing for me and the right time. Got my financing and now just need to choose a doc. The thought that I could have this done within just a few weeks gives me such hope! Sent my email to Dr Gs office tonight, so I'm guessing I should hear from them soon. So glad to have found all of you and to be a part of such a supportive group. New Me on the way!!!! Jill:whoo:

I'm new to this forum and have not been banded yet, but I'm hoping to be soon. I will attend first seminar next week, and I'm hoping that they'll be able to tell me how to get IHC to pay for my banding. If insurance won't pay I probably won't be able to have the surgery, can't afford to self pay. A little about me... I'm 34, Iv'e lived in SLC all my life, went to Skyline High, live in Sugarhouse, and I'm a Sleep Tech at LDS hospital. Love my job, but working nights sure doesnt do much to help my metabolism and weight! Everyone here seems so supportive, I'm really excited to have stumbled across this site! Jill

Hello Banders! I'm new to this forum and just getting started on what I hope will be a wonderful journey to a new me! I have an appointment next week with the Surgical Weight Loss Center at SL Regional and looking forward to it. Has anyone been able to get IHC to cover their banding? I've been told it is non-covered so I'm working on appealing. So happy to have found you all!! Jill

I'm in Salt Lake City, Utah, and hoping to be banded next month if I can get insurance approval!! So happy to have found this site!

Just made appointment today for consultation on Aug 13th. Getting letters of necessity from all my docs and praying I can convince my insurance to cover this. Just discovered this forum tonite and am very excited about it!!
