Endless great thoughtful post-another perspective that you don't hear often IMHO it's ok to tell people about your wls if you choose but just add the fact that there are risks associated with it incase they don't do enough research and are inspired by your progress -
This is depressing...hope its because you're surgery was recent I don't want to go through life with constantly feeling either of those feelings

I kind of hope I have to do a barium test. I want my doctor to check for every conceivable complication risk, especially after reading about the poster's sister dying. I won't complain about any pre-op testing. -
Ouch... Not to cut in but I have had that same problem at times-I believe it has to do with the skill set of the person taking your blood because sometimes it doesn't happen

Just try to focus on the why-she's your mom she loves you and is concerned about your safety-she probably doesn't know how to have the discussion with you about the surgery even when you bring it up

Sitting in the waiting room now-waiting for someone to take me for my sleep study. I was nervous about just this. I'm going to be a wreck when it's time to go in for surgery. Thanks for the heads up-perfect timing!

I am still pre-op but just wanted to say that I'm sorry you've had to go through all of that. You are a strong person! If it's any consolation your weight is really coming off. Hope things get better soon and permanently!
