My highest was 351 and i got down to 306 by the day of surgery. I had my operation 4/21/14 and am down 30lbs so far. A little slower than I'd like, but I know that if I added in exercise it would help. I have lost a total of 75 lbs now, though, and am so happy about it overall. Still a ways to go, but we will all get there

You know you lost weight when
tmcbride replied to Thomas CPA's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
you don't have to worry if you will fit in the seats at stadiums, or seats with sides you can pull your legs up kind of normally to paint your toes you can see your collarbone starting to form you can see the definition of knuckles you put on your winter coat you could not zip up just to see and not only can you zip it up but it will most likey be too big by then you no longer have to buy 26/28 tops and are excited you can float between the junior plus and women's plus depending on the top because you are an 18/20 now you have to twist the seat belt before latching it so it fits right instead of latching it, sitting down then pulling just he chest part in front because it doesn't fit your co-workers tell you you're wasting away and i will be so glad when i can say some of the other things people have said on here! -
I am 7 weeks post op today and like the other ladies I get so full on so little. I love that I can just share with my husband if we go somewhere. Before i would have to eat a lot to feel really full and then not only did i feel really full, but it was heavy on my stomach as well. I really love being able to feel full on little BUT without the heavy feeling. I would feel really full after half a pudding too at first, now I can at least get a whole pudding down, even a yogurt for Breakfast, even though it takes me a half hour, lol. But i love that just a yogurt will fill me up. It's been very much worth it! I had no complications, everything healed nicely and i am so glad i did it! I have lost 20 lbs so far. Good luck with your surgeries, hope all goes well

I have the unflavored and chicken soup Unjury. I didn't like the unflavored in everything but it wasn't bad in blended up soup or instant potatoes. I also put unflavored unjury in baby cereal and instead of mixing with water or milk i mixed in no sugar added 100% juice. I also added a bit of the strawberry protein powder to a berry based yogurt. I started out on the protein shakes and just couldn't get all that liquid in, and quite frankly got tired of it as well, but I did what i could fit in. Hang in there. When you get further along you can cut down on the amount of shakes you drink and get protein from other sources. BUT you will still need to drink some protein. I will be 7 weeks post op on Monday. I have Body Fortress Whey ISOLATE protein which is 30g per scoop. I throw some frozen or fresh strawberries and banana in my nutribullet with 100% cranberry juice and then shake in the powder once that is blended. I make up the rest with nuts, yogurt in the morning, cheese, cottage cheese and the P3s they have out is really good. I can eat beef jerky, which i love because there is a lot of protein there. It gets easier. Wish I had an answer for you, but really its just that part you have to get through right now. I thought the exact same thing though, lol. Try mixing unflavored in things with flavor and dont forget you can use any seasonings you want. Good luck!

I know this thread is pretty old, but in the case someone else is reading this and is looking for feed back, here is mine. I was sleeved on April 21, 2014. I had a good experience with my surgery. I have a desk job and was back to work in two weeks. I was sore for about a week, but like the lady said above, it felt like bruises. I didn't have any complications. My incisions healed really well. It has been some getting used to the new lifestyle, but it was well worth it. I am finding that I can tolerate things I didn't think I could from what i used to eat before. I just know what to say no to, what to only have a taste of. I shared a small peice of cake with my husband (about three bites) for my neices graduation. No problems. I didn't over do it. I can have fresh squeezed lemonade-with splenda. I have had a small peice of pizza-thin crust. Yes i moved into solids a little before some poeple, but i have been able to tolerate it. My body is different. Like was mentioned above too, I drink bigger sips of Water now too. It does get easier, and better. It's just those first 4-6 weeks vs the rest of your life. I was up walking 5-10 laps around the halls in the hospital the NIGHT of my surgery. I went walking after. It helped a lot. I haven't thrown up. I have had a few times my stomach hurt from a particular food. that just meant i wasn't ready for it yet. I would say that my surgery went very well and am happy I did it. It will change your relationship with food. It will make you take a look at why you eat some of the things you do. It will make you want to make healthier choices. You will get to a point where you won't have to worry about every single thing. It does get better. Hang in there everyone who is thinking about and are having reservations about VSG or any weight loss surgery. I would rather spend the short amount of time getting used to a new lifestyle, losing my excess weight, compared to the lifetime of obesity and the shortened lifespan. I wonder what I will do with all the extra years I am gaining back! Good luck everyone

5 weeks post op and slow weight loss
tmcbride replied to Tammylb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So glad I'm not the only one feeling like that! I am 4 weeks post (sleeved 4/21/14) and I am only down 14-15 lbs. I fluctuate between 291 and 290 for over almost 2 weeks now. I have been having a hard time getting enough protein and water in though. I recently bought some Whey Isolate protein (60g protein per scoop) that my DH makes a protein smoothie with in the morning and I drink half in the morning and the other half in the afternoon. I had a hard time keeping up with that when i returned to work. I am hoping that if I can keep getting enough protein in and try getting all my water in my body will start moving the weight again. I even walk at the mall near my work at lunch, 1 1/3 mile (twice around the inside) almost every day. Hang in there everyone! -
I have added it to potatoes. I could tell a slight difference, but the potato taste was still very dominant, so it wasn't bad for me. I have also added it to baby Cereal. I use no sugar added white grape juice with the unflavored and baby cereal.
