  1. I have attempted time & time again over the course of the past week to update my profile. I am trying to upload new photos because since the first photo I posted, I have lost an additional 100lbs and am very proud. I have also seen on other peoples profiles where they are able to put there starting weight, as well as where they are now. I also am not able to send any private messages to anyone at all. My profile name was changed, or rather a sequence of numbers added to the original when RNY and Bariatric Pal combined. I do have the Android App on my phone, and this is what I use since I do not have a computer or tablet. I am able to open up the full site on my web browser though. Can you please help me? Thank you kindly, Samantha Johnson

    Drinks?!

My surgeon and dietician have both told me I need to stay away from alcohol. You have too remember the carbonation will expand your stomache.
  5. Do you by any chance have anything left??

    Anemia

I actually received 3 pints of blood earlier in the yr and b/c of this, my iron and B12 are severly low. My blood dr administers B12 weekly. This Im told stores in your liver and can take a minute too get correct if you never knew it was low. I also receive rhe iron infusions. I got one the day before my gastric bypass in Aug, and the next in Oct. They are a 4 hour infusion but according to my dr, the infusion works its way into the bone marrow and kinda wakes it up to begin reproducing the red blood cells. The pain felt is usually a couple days after infusuon and is more or less flu like symptoms. Just the pain and aicking...spelling im sure is wrong. The blood drs call the infusion devils juice b/c its so red. The infusionist will give you a benedryl injection during infusion, so you can sleep while receiving it. My surgeon told me that its normal too have anemia after surgery. The iron pills make you constipated, and as you know laxatives are not good for us. In my opinion, it would not hurt too ask about it. I hope this has helped in some sort of way.xoxo

    Steri Strips!

I had really severe nausea and my surgeon gave me a new antiemetic med. It works AMAZBALLS!!! You just put the strip on your tongue and it melts. The peppermint taste helps soothe the nausea too. I wld be careful about the surgical tape coming off. Be very careful with both things going on. I wld hate too hear something else was going on and you just rhaught it was nausea. Xoxo

    Anyone who can help me!

Good Luck too all of you. The worst thing you could do is stress the checkoff list. I am wondering, if you were also assigned a patient advocate? If so, stay on their butt...thats what their job is. I had many, and I mean many medical issues before my surgery. But, I was able too get all of my preop tests scheduled for the same day. I was there for the majority of the day, but I knew it was all taken care of. If you go to a pcp or specialist each month, most insurances will use your weigh in from these dr visits. They just need to be 3 weigh in in past yr...some require 6 months weigh in. Call now to make appt with psychiatrist b/c they are usually 2 or 3 months behind unless you have your own. As you finish tests, keep copies for your own records. The nutritional classes are awesome. They teach you so much. Take notes, and ask questions. Im 2 months post op and 80 lbs lighter. It took me exactly 6 weeks from Seminar to surgery...feel free too ask anything.xoxo
