1. I was banded on 10/21 and have lost 34 lbs without any fills. After 6 weeks I was schedule to see my Dr. for a follow up and possible fill. Because I was losing weight steadily and had not experienced and problems (votiming or loss of energy, etc) he did not want to give me a fill and possibly experience discomforts. The concern that i mentioned to him was that am able to eat approx. 12 oz of food at one time. Explained that as long as I continued to make the right choices (I stay at approx. 1500 calories per day) and was eating chewing and eating slowly he was not too concerned at the moment. My next check up is January 2nd to see if possibly I might need a first fill. But for know I'm liking it because I don't feel jipped on my meals.
 2. First off... I would like to say hello and thanks to all of you for the wonderful support and information you all have provided that has made my decicion for the lapband surgery a informed one. I happy to say that on Friday july 27, 2007 my insurance finally approved my surgery. It took 6.5 mos for me to complete the approval process for the lapband (bypass would have only taken me 2 mos. for approval) surgery. I had to submit my medical history, counseling (nutritional and psychological), consultation, Doctor talk, attend a support class and enroll in a weight loss program for atleast 3 mos. Smart & Lite Dimensions ( Angeles and Orange County—Lite & Smart DIMENSIONS™ ) have been wonderful and very helpful in the approval process. I'm currently waiting for them to call me this week with my surgery date. I'm so excited to finally be receiving a surgery date:whoo:. TBA
 3. Guess what ??? I received my call today from the doc's office. My surgery date is October 3rd. (that was the earliest date available). I have my one on one with the doctor on September 18th. I'm guessing he's going to have me go on my pre-op diet at that time. I'm excited to finally have a date for my surgery. I already informed my employer that I would be taking a week off from work. I heard of people returning to work 3 days after surgery; depending of course on the type of work the person does. I fortunately don't have a physically demanding job so I think a week would be sufficient, maybe less. As far as I know my surgery is 100% covered (will double check), plus my fills are covered (just have to pay the $20 co-pay) for the 1st year. After the 1st year they only cover a portion of the cost. What about you Michelle, do you have to pay any money out of pocket?
 4.

Michelle, Wow we both received our approvals on the same day. But lucky you received your surgery date the same date. I have to wait for the surgery scheduler to schedule mine. They promised they would call me this week so you can imagine me running to the phone every time it rings hoping it's the doctors office. I 've believe this is the first time I have actually want the doctor to call me. How many days do you think we will need to take time off from work? Best to you Michelle and keep posting.
