Hey! I had my surgery on 11/5 and am down exactly 99lbs...that 1lb is going to be a stinker! When I got into "onederland" was an awesome milestone, now this 100lb mark will be the next!! Congrats to every one else on the weight loss! I am averaging 2-2.5lbs a week and when I stall I find its because I'm not getting enough calories or Protein so once I increase those it picks right back up. I do workout 60 minutes a day 6 days a week and eat about 800-1000 calories per day. I miss chocolate something fierce!!

Surgery 11/5 and as of today I'm down 87.2 lbs. Only 2.9lbs away from onderland! woop! For exercise I go to group fitness classes and mix up cardio and strength. I haven't tried Yoga or Pilates yet. Really just working on the cardio but making sure I add some strength in which will help tighten up the skin. Plus muscle burns fat. This is my normal weekly schedule (each class is 60 minutes); M - Flirty Girl Fitness (dancing) T - Body Pump (strength) W - Zumba T - Kickboxing F - Zumba Saturday - Sculpt (strength) followed by Kickboxing. And then I collapse on Sunday. LOL

Oops, I meant Myfitnesspal! I don't want any money from you

My surgery was 11/5 and I'm down 83lbs! Some of the more "psychological" accomplishments: - Getting on an airplane without worrying if the seat would be too small, or if the seatbelt would fit. I could cross my legs and have slack in the seatbelt! - Zipping up a size 14 jeans -- I think the last time i wore a 14 was in highschool - Buying size L shirts from a "normal" store (i.e. not a plus size store) - Weighing the same (soon to be less!) than my husband - 6 lbs away from "onderland"! While I definetly feel better physically, without those emotional milestones noted above, I'm still having problems really believing I look any different. I'm sure it will come in time. It helps when I see a before/after picture of myself. That's when I see the drastic difference. But in my mind I still look 291 lbs. If anyone is on mypaypal, my username is alimarie0915 if you want to follow me and support eachother!

Any more than a 1/2 cup and I'm overly full and uncomfortable. It also depends on what it is. Eggs and chicken breast make me feel uncomfortable but beef and turkey are ok.
-
I've also found that tracking my food and exercise daily in My Fitness Pal helps me stay accountable and I can really see a pattern -- days I don't eat enough calories or Protein I don't lose enough weight. It really helps! I made my diary public to my friends and have many Bariatric Pal members as friends on there to help us support eachother and provide encouragement. There's another feed somewhere with everyone's user names if you want to add friends. Mine is alimarie0915. Feel free to add me!

I had bypass 11/5 and am down 71lbs so far. I'm averaging about 2-3lbs a week which I'm completely satisfied with. I've noticed my hair is starting to fall out though, anyone else? I know it'll grow back and it's due to lack of protein. I'm getting about 60g protein and around 800 calories a day. I work out 6 days a week, have about 40lbs to go before goal weight! How is everyone else??

alimarie started following My Fitness Pal

Don't be discouraged, it will come off! What I found when I had my first stall was that as soon as I increases my calories it started coming off again. Make sure you're getting enough calories otherwise your body goes into starvation mode and doesn't want to burn the fat away. My doc said about 2lbs a week is expected, or 1% of total weight. They also said right at 6-8 weeks is when the weight loss will start to slow down and become more steady instead of rapid unless you introduce more calories combined with exercise. I'm out of town visiting family right now and they have no scale! It's driving me nuts to not know how I've done. Especially since this trip has been really challenging trying to get enough protein in and eat healthy when the only thing around is unhealthy food. Keep your head up and good luck!

Oh Boo -- I just checked out the Vitafusion and they are calcium carbonate, which bypass patients don't absorb. I need to find a good tasting calcium citrate. Did your surgeon ok the vitafusion kind? Maybe I can run it by mine =/

Thanks! I'm going to look for the gummy calcium. I have a gummy D3 that I love, so hopefully the calcium will be good too! I had the same BM problems as you for the 1st two weeks but it gets better once you start adding more Protein. My doctor told me to take a dose of milk of magnesia to clear it up but I ended up not needing to.

Has anyone started their Vitamins yet? I've been on B12 and D3, but just had my 4 week follow-up today (36lbs down, yay!), and was told I can now start Multivitamins, Calcium and Iron. What brands do you like? I got some chewy caramel calcium bites from bariatricadvantage.com, but the smell of them makes me so sick so I refuse to try them.

Well don't be discouraged! If your saw people posting the 20lb loss in this forum it's because they had a different procedure. Most of us had 2 weeks of liquids before surgery and longer time on liquids after surgery. You'll see results! Keep positive!

Ohh. I may be in wrong forum, I had bypass.

Probably a dumb question but what is a "fill"?
