  1. Problem- I finished my six months dr supervised diet, final weigh in, last test will b done Wednesday, paper work to b submitted this week to insurance. Heres the problem- after doin my sleep study I found I do need a CPAP machine. If I get da machine now its $500 because of deductible. Now being that its so close to the end of the year and my deductible starts over in January- should I wait until next year or is there any possibility I can have my surgery before year end

    Waiting Game

I live n Natchez MS but I go to Dr n Jackson, MS
  3. I think you can do this on your own!! If u can loose 90 to 100 pounds without surgery then u can do it. U jus have to stay focus on your daily habits which is what you're gonna have to do with the surgery anyway. The surgery only "helps" you get the weight off but YOU have to keep it off. I have a friend who had the surgery 13 years ago, she got really small (maybe 150), but not being determined shes back to 220 and still climbing. So if you don't have determination, its only gonna be a temporary fix anyway. Put your mind to it and do it. I wish I could loose 90 pounds without surgery. Go for it!!!! Good luck with whatever decision u make!
  4. Had final weigh in yesterday (loss on 10 pounds), so now Im jus waiting on my info to b submitted to ins for their response. Hope I dont have to wait too long! Wonder if Ill get n befo New Years??
  5. Wow, I hope I can hav mine before the year ends
  6. Where r u? Whose ur dr? Whose ir insurance with?
  7. First visit- yo will b weighed, they will take pics, vitals, and answer a lot of questions.
  8. I go Monday 11/4 for my final weigh in. My NUT has been telln me to prepare for a Nov surgery. I called to talk with my coordinator today to maybe get a "round about" time I might be havn surgery n she informs me that insurance can take up to 60 days to answer yay or nay. Then IF they approve it, I have to wait to b scheduled n. The sound she had it sounded like January or Feb. Ive come too far to give up but its definitely in my mind.
  9. I,too have Dr. Carroll. Since u have been thru it can u kind help me with a time frame. With the holidays coming up, (job purpose) I kinda need to know how long before surgery. Ive completed 6 months supervised diet, going for my final weigh on on 11/4. Ive had psych eval and blood work. Can u help and tell me what to expect next??
  10. I noticed u have BCBSMS, thats MY insurance. When I talked with them I was told they did not cover bariatric surgery. So I used my husbands ins. What did u do? What are their qualifications? Out of pocket expenses? If u don't mind me asking.

Sleeve to Bypass, NO NO NO?

Please dont "settle" for something you dont want. In da long run you'll probably get the bypass anyway. Just pray, that money will come.
  12. Im going to Transformations. I had to do a 6 months diet plan because of my insurance (BCBSAL). Had my 6th visit 10/15/13, go bk 11/4/13 for final weigh in . I have done everything required (PCP letter, blood work, psyc eval) and waiting on an all day class I have to attend. My dietitian say my surgery should be sometime in Nov.
