  1. I've just been thrift store shopping. I can't afford buying new clothes all the time, so I started buying clothes from places like Goodwill and the Salvation Army before I had surgery. Not a lot, but enough to get by. Some sizes I've only worn for a couple of weeks before dropping to the next size, so I may only have one or two pairs of pants in any particular size, I just do laundry a lot. Once I get to goal, I'll buy new clothes.

    Don't feel full!

I just went back and looked at my food log from when I was in purees, and I was eating about half a cup to a cup depending on how thick or thin the food was. Like pureed hot and sour Soup, one cup. But if it was refried Beans, only half a cup. Hope that helps!
  3. Look up CowgirlJane on here. She had plastics in Mexico and looks amazing! I think she has pics on here and maybe also on RealSelf.
  4. I've never heard it called reconstruction, but going from the band to sleeve is usually called revision surgery.

    My Husband is the Cutest

Well, if you lived anywhere near me, I could practically guarantee it would happen. My husband somehow seems to make boobs jump out of their bras all the time. I've never in my life seen so many women have "wardrobe malfunctions" as when I'm out with him. And it's not people doing it on purpose. It's just almost a sure thing that if he goes to the grocery store, some woman is going to show her boobs at some point. It's the strangest thing I've ever seen.

    Protein shake help

You might try using some sugar free torani syrups in it like caramel. Or maybe add some PB2 powder to it. I'm sorry it's not good. I've never seen premier Protein in a powder, but I drink at least one of the RTD every day, I love it.

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

Excellent! It's not easy but with determination you can do it!

    How old are/were you?

I was 39 and my husband was 49.

    Reflux

My reflux was not controlled before surgery. I didn't take anything regularly because none of the roughly 278 prescriptions they tried me on did any good. Since I was sleeved and had hernia repaired, I take 20 mg of generic omeprazole daily and haven't felt a single bit of reflux. If I can eventually stop taking it, great. If not, that's great too. It's still light years better than it was before.

Not being deliberately obtuse, but what accusations are you talking about?

    Pre op liquid diet

After surgery, while on all liquids it was still liquid in, liquid out. Now that I'm a few months post-op, I've settled down into pretty much regularity. I am very careful about making sure I get plenty of Water and Fiber every day otherwise things do start to slow down. A lot! But since I started taking a fiber supplement every day, things are running smoothly. Lol.

    Pre op liquid diet

Wow, I sure don't. I had the exact opposite reaction to the liquid diet. Let's just say for me it was lots of liquid in and lots of liquid out. Sorry you're having to deal with this.

Cheated every day of 7 day pre op diet

You know, I'm not really sure what exactly your major malfunction is, but you have really lost any and all credibility in this thread. You're coming across as someone with either serious mental issues or a serious grudge against a few other posters. In short, you're coming across as a nutjob.

What is Your Goal Weight at 5'5

I'm 5'5" and 40 years old. I started at 320 and am currently at 227. My goal is 140. My surgeon has never given me a goal, that's just what I want.

    Anyone try hormone replacement therapy

I took estrogen for several years pre-sleeve. I was started on it for symptoms of early menopause. However, I had to stop taking it right after surgery because of the risk of blood clots and I never started taking it again. I no longer have hot flashes or night sweats or any other issues, so I saw no reason to start it up again. That made my doc happy as she didn't like me being on it to start with because my mother had breast cancer.

    Food Question

I eat Peanut Butter daily. I have eaten rice a few times and had sweets a time or two. However, sweets tend to make me sick now, so I don't really want them anymore. Rice is just not important enough for me to bother with. But overall, I think that you will be able to eat those things again, just much smaller quantities and not as often.
  20. I lost weight one before and kept it off for about two years. I know what I missed about being fat then, and I imagine once I'm thinner I'll miss it again. The fat is a handy crutch or excuse for pretty much anything you need. You didn't get the job you wanted? Meh, they probably just don't like fat people. Or maybe you use it to justify NOT doing something. Why should I bother setting up a profile on that dating website, no one will be interested in my fat ass. Being a healthy weight will require me to get to know myself more because I won't have the fat to blame for my shortcomings.

    Halfway there! with pics!

Thanks, everyone. My husband hasn't lost quite as much as me, but he didn't have as much to lose anyway. He's lost 85 pounds and is 4 pounds away from goal. We are so blessed to have found a way to have this surgery. Dr. Jayaseelan is forever my hero!
  22. Okay, I almost peed myself laughing over monster crotch and sascrotch. I thought I was the only one! I have some scarring the groin area due to some surgery I had (unrelated to WLS or plastics). The first time I looked at the incision after surgery and saw that line of big black stitches, I gasped and told my husband "holy shit, it's Franken-Cooter!"

    Day after tomorrow!

    Hope all went well!
