hehe lizziee.......my family has always called me peaches......we are both fat fruits.....but not for long!!!!

I was banded on Oct 2....took pain meds the day of surgery and that is it. My body feels fantastic and you can hardly see the scars...excepte the port area one...it's still scabbed over. I have been back to work a week now.I have a very physical job...but i've not been lifting. My only two complaints is the fatigue I have since the surgery...I know this will just take time to build up the ole' endurance again. And secondly........the dreaded liquid diet I've been on. It's been so difficult and I've cheated 3 times now and had reg. food like chili, sausage and egg....all went down fine but i'm back on liquids again.

I too will confess. I was on Clear liquids for three days before the surgery (i had it last tues on the second) and for 7 days after....then I've been doing bad eating chili with meat, sausage and egg in tiny little bites.....all is going down very easily. I have had no problems. I called the doc. office today though and the nutrit. said to go back on liquids till monday. This feels like torture going back and I am so depressed. I just want to chew! Anyway, I know it will eventually get better....but it is hard now. Take care and Best wishes and blessing to y'all.

Hi, just wanted to encourage you a bit. I had my surgery on Oct. 2....on the third day after surgery was the first day I could sleep on my stomache. Today is the 10 and it doesn't bother me at all....to sleep on either side or stomache. My port is on the right side. I too am unable to sleep withoug sleeping my my tummy. I hope you are able to as well Take care

I did the 10 day pre op diet and also did 7 days of pure liquids. I am supposed to do 7 more days but yesterday I ate real food. For lunch I had cottage cheese and blended tuny...with no problem......then for dinener i had 1 piece of sausage and 1 egg.....also with no problem. I cut it into teenie tiny bites and ate so slowly. I am glad I'm doing so well with eating the foods. But so mad at myself that I haven't followed the doc. orders......I really want to do good with this diet...but I haven't...and for that i just am ashamed and so mad at myself. I also have not been exercising at all. I went back to work 7 days after surgery and have had no problems except fatigue. I have a somewhat physical job so when I come home I am very tired. I know I need to change this habit......I am just so tired all the time. I am very frustrated....there is no one to be angry at but myself. I really want to lose this weight that I've put on....I just am not doing as well as I had hoped. Frustrated and upset... pvchickie

I did great after surgery...no complaints at all physically....only needed pain med the day of the surgery. I am so happy about this. I had the surgery on 10-2 and it's now 3 days later and i am just wanted food so bad. Soup is not really cutting it for me. I am not physically hungry.....but very head hungry right now. I am continuing to pray for everyone this month who's having surgery.......I hope you all have a great experience like myself. I also pray for all those on liquid stage.....it's so hard and I am counting the days to get out of it. take care.....GBYalways

I am having surgery tomorrow oct 2nd and am ready for this. Thankfully I am not nervous but just excited to get this done and over with. The prayer request that I do have is for my parents. I pray they aren't too nervous waiting while i'm in surgery...I know that waiting can be tough. Lord, I pray for all of us Oct. bandsters. I am praying for a surgery without complications. I pray each of us have a calmness and peace before surgery and feel your presence with us...knowing you Lord know all things and are with us at all times. Also Lord i pray each of us are receptive to this new change in our life and have a successful journey with it. In all things, we believe and trust in you. In your precious and hold name amen. Thanks so much Holly. Hey I forgot to say...they weighted me right before going into surgery. I have lost 10 lbs being on the pre op liquid diet....i'll have to figure out how to change it on my ticker some other day. Right now it's off to bed with me. Take care all!

Just wanted to give an update. I had surgery on the 2nd and all went well. My insurance required me to stay overnight...today is the 3rd...I haven't needed any pain meds as it just isn't that bad. I am so thankfull for the prayers and just wanted to update all....I am doing good, tolerating liquids well....and just sore...They say third day after surgery you are the sorest...this is the evening of the second day and i can tell my belly is sore,,,muscles...but no pain to speak of. Thanks again for the prayer and God Bless you always!

Just wanted to write and say....you are going to do good at this! God is going to take care of you and I pray He gives you a peace about the surgery. I know He will be with us all. I too have major depression and I have Bipolar. I am doing well on these meds and my psychiatrist said take them they night before surgery and I shouldn't have any complications. My psychiatrist first recommended this surgery as I have gained 120 lbs in 4 years due to psych meds and increased appetite. Trust in Him in all things! I am praying for us all.....

Well, my surgery is in just a few days...it's time! I'm ready to get this done and get on with my new way of living. I have had all sorts of emotions over the past few weeks...but now I'm just feeling good about this and ready for it to happen. No more feeling sorry for myself! I am glad I've had the support of others here and especially on the chatroom. That has been sooo much help to me. My surgery is on October 2nd I am praying for all of us...GBYalways!

Ok I have to vent a bit...why do they put us on a diet before the surgery...don't they know that we bite at dieting? And as far as the whole farewell to food tour...we i've been having a farewell to each type of food tour hitting all the types of food I like...mexican restaurant, steakhouse, italian rest, chinese buffet...you get the picture... Anyway, it's two days until the liquid diet starts...(i've been on a diet for 2 weeks) liquid diet will last 10 days...surgery is on Oct. 2. I'm not quit so positive at the moment...though i know this is the right decision and i'm doing the right thing....just nerves i think. my real name is Tara aka pvchickie...I weigh 265 and hope to lose 120 back to my weight four years ago...my surery is oct 2...i am not nervous about the surgery at all...though am quit nervous about the new life style change. I have no friends but have a supportive family that lives close. food has been my friend and made me feel better in a sense....although i realize it has also been making me unhealthy, tired and has decreased my self esteem. I am sad to have to give up so much of the foods i like to eat. I started crying when the nutritionist told me what i could/couldn't eat from now on. hey there...i don't know about you...you may do wonderful on the drug...but I took topamax as well in hoped for weight lose (as well as for other reason)....it didn't work for either problem and gave me some screwy side effects that lasted for quit some time. anyway, just my thought on that drug...i know they do work differently for ea. person. Hey there, I am a therapist in a hosp....at the last hosp. i worked at all therapist wore polo shirts ordered by the managers. All the 'girl' shirts were tailored, cute and peach. The 'guy' shirts were big, long and blue. I wore a 3x therefore, had to get a mens shirt. I tell ya I just hated it at first and thought everyone would question me. But, nobody ever did and I finally got used to it and didn't care. In life we tend to make BIG MOUNTAINS out of molehills...believe me myself included! I am learning to take things with a 'now, who really cares' attitude. This has helped me because i am finding out that I care way more than the people around me do. So, I am in turn trying not to care about the small things. I am starting to care about my weight and my health though. So this is why I've chosen to have the lapband. I am excited to get this done finally and finally care about the body that God gave me. I wish y'all the best....GBYalways!
