I would like to lose 100 pounds if at all possible. I really don't have that many health problems. But have a history of Diabetes in the family. I also got Gestational Diabetes with all 3 pregnancies. I sure hope insurance pays for it. I am working hard. I was suppose to see the psycologist on the 18th but I called them today to see if there was a cancellation and there was! I go to them on Monday! I can't wait! That means surgery date would be put up a couple more weeks. So hopefully I can get this done by the time I go to Vegas in June! Thanks to you all that have welcomed me here. It is really nice. I can't wait for my journey with the lap-band and the new friends I will come across! Angie

Thanks Kathy! lol They are probably wondering who the hell I am? lol I will definetly do that. When I talk with Dr. Baumen again before surgery I will ask him about this and see what he has to say. I am happy to hear that he does them so I don't have to find someone else. Hopefully they will change their minds and help you out. I have really enjoyed the forums today, especially the poopie one! It was hilarious. I think the people in here are great and can't wait to go through this journey with you all. Thanks again for welcoming me. Angie

Hey, Thanks for posting! I am really excited about this and can't wait. It is great to know there are some girls near me that will have the lap-band. My other friends have had the gastric RNY with Dr Rutledge and Dr Bauman. I am the first of us girls to go with the lap-band. I am sure will go well. I can't wait to see your results and how you do with the surgery. It is coming up fast!

Forgot to answer about Bauman. He is up in Concord, NC. He is a good hour away from me in Lake Wylie. Check out his website http://www.lgbsurgery.com/I like him and I know 4 people that have gone with him and have all done really well.

I am hoping Insurance pays. My friend Steve has the same insurance and they payed for his and his BMI was 38. He has sleep apnea and so they went ahead and payed for it. So keep your fingers crossed they will pay for me. I don't see a problem. I just need to get all my paper work done and submitted to get a surgery date and approval from insurance. They said it will take a week after submission to approve it. I will keep you guys posted.

This is my first day on this forum and I am in awe! You look amazing! I don't have a date for my lap-band yet. I am in process of it. Hopefully in May. But I hope that I do as well as you have with your band. What a beautiful family, I am sure you are very proud. I have three little girls and I know what your going through with all of them sick at once. Good luck and hope they feel better soon.

Hello Girls, My name is Angie and I am from Lake Wylie, SC. I am going to Dr Bauman for my Lap-Band procedure. I don't have a surgery date as of yet, but I am working on all the pre-op paper work. I hopefully will be able to have it in May. But I still have to see the nutritionist and psycologist. I just got done with an upper GI and lab work. Then today I have to go to my OB and get 5 years of documentation of my weight. There is no problem's there. I have been over weight for some time now. This is nice to see others going through the same thing. Hopefully I can get to know you girls and we can set up a good support group. I have a friend that just had it done and he is doing pretty well. He had his surgery and left that same night. Then three days later he was at Carowinds running around with his children. I will send this website to him so he can have some support if he wants. Men are weird about stuff like this! lol He had surgery on the 8th of March and has lost 15lbs. so far. Please keep posting and let me know how you all are doing with your surgeries so I can see how it goes for you girls. Good luck with everything, don't give up! This is for a healthier, and happier new you! That is how I am looking at it.
