Hey Guys, I am down 32 pounds as of today! I am eating very well and loving my band. This is the best thing I have ever done for me in my life. I have lost 5 pounds since seeing the nutritionist on the 15th of August. So that is pretty darn good. You guys are doing great. Keep eating right and exercise and you will see the pounds go. I am working out 5 times a week at my local Y and eating my Protein first and then my fruit or veggie. It is going really nice and I appreciate everyone's support! Angie

When were you banded? 6/30/2005 What was your weight ON DAY OF SURGERY? 226 What is your weight now? 199 What size do you wear? Not really sure. I have been living in my sweat pants that I always wear, but they are getting loose. Not buying any clothes until they are practically falling off of me. How tall are you? 5'1" 1/4

Congrats! I hope I have such a successful story at my one year anniversary! Angie

Yes I have had problems similar to yours. Mine hurt between my breast bone and into my back. The doctor ordered an upper gi and that came back normal so he prescribed me a medicine that is like mylanta but stronger and it helped and soothed it. IT has stopped now. I can't remember the name of the medicine. If I find it I will PM you and let you know what it is. Angie

It is hard but you have to suck it up and do it. We all have to have that Protein. You will do great. Try to swich the flavors around. I found that Boost shakes tasted the best. Plus you can mix up a Protein Shake with Banana's and Peanut Butter. Let me know if you want some recipe's and I can PM you and send them your way. Angie

Congrats!!!! I am glad to hear how well you are doing. Angie

Hello Everyone, I am back from my Camping trip. It was a bunch of fun! I really enjoyed it. I have a website to check out the pics and all here it is: http://spaces.msn.com/members/bondgirls4/ Go on there and you can look at the pics and read my blog. It is so fun to have that. You can also post a reply to it. It is a lot of fun. I hope all is going well with everyone. I am doing ok. My burning in my chest is feeling better since he gave me that medicine. I actually need to take some now. I will get it in a minute. But he said that if it doesnt clear up after taking it he will do an endoscope to see whats going on with me. I have already had an upper gi and they said it looked great and the band hasnt slipped which was a relief. Ok I am going to get back to work here. Just wanted to stop in and let you know I am still around! TTYS! Angie

I am the same way. The lap band was the way to go for me. I had it done on the 30th of June and I love it. I am very happy with it so far. Good Luck to you! Are you close to Raleigh? I think there is a support group up there once you get things going. Angie -

I think all my questions were answered before the surgery. Right now after the surgery, I am having a burning sensation in my chest. Everytime I burp it hurts and burns. I called the Doctor yesterday and they said I need to go in for an Upper GI to see whats going on. I am taking my nexium everyday and making sure I have that in me. So not sure whats up. When I find out I will let you know. I would ask if it is common to have a burning sensation in your chest after surgery? Probably not but just to see what they come up with. Angie -
No Keep them on until he tells you to take them off. I had mine on from Thursday until Sunday and then I was able to take them off. Then I went to him on the following wednesday after surgery and they took the staples out. Angie

That sounds great to me. I can do that. I do not care what anyone eats. I have learned that I have to eat what I am suppose to and to feed the children and husband what they need. It isnt that hard and I am not giving into temptation which is a good thing. I will see you all on the 27th at 11:30am! This is going to be great. And I know exactly where Ruby Tuesday is. See you all soon! Angie -

Welcome to the board. Congrats on taking this step to a happier, healthier you! I have Blue Cross out of state and they paid for mine. I would try and fight it and see what you can do, then you could be the one to open the door for many others. Keep positive and push through I am sure you will succeed. You just need to show that insurance company who is boss! Let us know where you are from in NC, we have a great group going on in Charlotte. Angie -

Yes, Arrowood area would be great for me. And any date really in August is fine. I just need to let my man know so he knows he has the children. The 27th would be great. I can make that and 11am would be fine as well. Kathy you sure keep up with things girl. You amaze me! lol I can't remember from one day to the next sometimes. Especially since I have five kids right now. Whoa! They are good boys though. I have enjoyed having them. Kim, I know I hate scales at home. I just want to weigh at the Nutrionist every month. I am tired of the scale. I dont have one at home thank god but I am buggin' my neighbors to use theirs! lol I dont know if that is worse. hehe Melissa your hair will turn out great. Just dont go to short. I would be a bit scared to tell someone to do what they wanted too. Can't wait to see the new you! Ok, Kids are here. My day is starting. Busy, Busy, Busy!!!! Angie -
