  1. glad it all worked out. Start drinking! --Lisa
  2. One of your incisions might be infected--make sure to mention it to you doctor ; I know I had one incision inside my belly button--the one that took the longest to heal. I think you said you are seeing your doctor today? --I think mentally you'll feel alot better after he can diagnose what's causing your symptoms and within a few days of following his instructions, you'll feel back to your normal self. The first 3-4 weeks are really overwhelming--both physically and emotionally but I promise this journey will be amazing. keep us updated --Lisa
  3. Call your doctor. You should be still a little uncomfortable still but not in pain. Most important, you shouldn't be dizzy--this is probably from dehydration or your blood pressure. You definitely shouldn't be driving if you are dizzy. I had extremely low blood pressure after my surgery and had to postpone my return to work. I went back to work at 3 weeks once my blood pressure was better. I still felt a little weak at that point but able to commute to work and do my desk job. hope you are feeling better soon!--Lisa

    Nervous

Congratulations!--it's the start of a new life. Not sure what advice I can give except listen to your doctor and work their program. Also, keep coming back here or to a support group---it's important to have support from people who have been there. If you do that, you'll be successful. Best of luck tomorrow--I'm sure all will go well--make sure to keep us updated on your progress through out the months/years to come--Lisa
  5. Hi Joymarie---I think you're fine. They should only use the 3 month program results that you are currently in. Sounds like you'll have surgery soon--how exciting--best of luck on your journey!--Lisa

    Weight gain and freaking out.

I totally get your fear--I'm there with you. I was sleeved in November 2013 and hit my lowest in 10/2014. I had my gallbladder out and then the holidays hit--I did put on about 3-4 lbs and rightfully so but in the last month, I have reduced my calories, cut out all sweets and I lose 2 lbs and then gain 2 lbs-it's so frustrating. I don't mean to hijack your thread just hoping someone out there has some words of wisdom for you (and for me). --Lisa

    Just got surgery date

Congratulations--what great news! good luck on your journey and keep us updated!--Lisa
  9. I didn't have this concern since my BMI was much higher when I started but I've heard on this board that insurance companies use your starting BMI. You should check with your insurance on how what co-morbidities they consider. Good luck on your journey!--Lisa
  10. Hi Lisa---great news! I know it's a bit scary but it's wonderful as well; just keep your eye on the prize and you'll be on the loser's bench before you know it. The first few days of the liquid diet aren't easy, but after those first days, you get used to it. (and yes, it's totally worth it!) Best of luck on your pre-op diet and surgery---keep us updated on your progress---cheers, Lisa

    Feeling discouraged no support

Don't be blue--Not everyone understands; that's why you have all of us!. seriously, only people who have walked in your shoes can fully understand the decision you have made. Others, even the ones we love and love us, don't always understand ---they may not express it well, but most of them are just worried about surgery & complications. If you've done your research and you're committed to this process, then just remember you are doing this for yourself and it shouldn't be based on everyone else's opinions--just yours & your doctor's. I know that everyone in my life that was against the idea of surgery has since changed their minds now that they see how my health and my self confidence has changed. I'm truly happier and that shows in my relationships as well. Best of luck on your surgery and your journey; Keep us updated on your progress!--Lisa

Mimi--Gallbladder surgery wasn't bad. I was in a lot of pain for few days before so I was just happy for that to end. Surgery was laparoscopic. I was able to go back to work 1 week later--- it was pretty similar to the vsg. Lisa

thanks everyone! My worst stall has to be right now. It's been 3 1/2 weeks since I've lost though I haven't been exercising since I had to have my gallbladder out 5 weeks ago. Hopefully now that I've been cleared to start exercising I can get back to weight loss. I have 3 lbs to go to the goal I picked in the beginning but I wouldn't mind another 10-15 from there. other than that, the other stalls I have had only last a week or so. You learn alot of Patience during this journey! thanks again--Lisa
