So I am almost 1 week post surgery. My doctor is not happy as my bowels have not restarted yet. Has anyone experience this and any suggestion?

Clear liquid diet is so hard. Tried Trade Joes Chicken Broth, yuck! Then Swansons beef broth, tolerable. Next old fashion Campbell's soup and took out the noodles, that was the best. At diner trying Unjury chicken broth, drinkable but still not that good. Thank goodness only 2 day!!!! I would never make it. I am hoping after surgery on the 10th, I can go back to drinking premium protein.

Shoot, I completely forgot to announce who #100 was....you were close...you came in at 101... Our 100th sleever is Smilingirl! So excited that all of us will have so much support going in to this major change in our lives.

Time to move me up on the list!!!! I am scheduled for Dec 10th!!!! So excited.

My turn to vent frustration. Went to my NUT pre-class last night. I was weighed in and met my 5lbs weight loss goal, I met with my coordinator as she had originally told me that if I met my goal she would sent the package to the surgery scheduler. She asks me if the surgery scheduler has contact me yet as she put the request in last week to have the surgery scheduled because she figured I would meet my goal. Of course I have heard nothing. So I attempt to contact the surgery scheduler this morning and was told she was busy and had a few other cases she was scheduling before she could get to mine. That I should expect a call back by the beginning of next week. Really???? They have already had the request since 10/30. I guess I just need to be pesky and make a phone call once a day till she gets on the phone with me. Feeling very frustrated because I have done my part, insurance was approved and now just waiting for the date.

So how much time from work is everyone taking off. I have a sedentary job and my doctor says she won't release me back to work for at least 3 week but she prefers 4 weeks.

Hi Everyone, I just joined to night and have read a lot of the postings and feel so grateful to have a support group. I just found out today that my insurances approved my surgery. I am so excited. I am working on my pre-surgery weight loss with the hope for a surgery date early December. All my testing is complete, next week a post op NUT class and then one more class for pre op thru recovery classes. I hope to get my surgery date on the calendar by next week if my weight loss is on track. Looking forward to going through this life changing event with everyone.
