First step to getting that fat girl out of my mind

I am going to second what minpinmom said as she said it perfectly and add in a *big hug* -
I do admit that those types of errors do drive me crazy as well however I guess I get used to stuff like that from chatting online with my best friend through Instant Messenger. She is incredibly smart however, she is also dyslexic so typo's and spelling mistakes are a given with her.

Julie, *hugs for you* and good for you for taking the steps you need to be truly happy. O2b, *hugs for you as well* I cannot believe what your soon to be exhusband said to you. It sounds like you too are doing the right thing. I admire both of your bravery and courage and with you the best of luck.

I agree, it's one thing to ask the parents if there is something specific the kid wants but to send out a Registry for Birthday's or Christmas or anything of the sort is ridiculous and embarrassing.

5 month plateau-Just needed to rant
Ang1982 replied to Megmarie21's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have 7cc's in what I am guessing is a 10cc band (actually no idea of the size because my doctors never really given me a straight answer on it - I have the MIDBand) and I haven't met a food that I cannot eat. Pizza, bread, muffins, no problem. Everything goes down and goes down fine, I think everyone is different. -
Knockouts - Six Month Progress Status
Ang1982 replied to HeatherO's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
RedTulips, that was a great post. Thank you very much for sharing that. For any of you who may follow my blog (perhaps none of you do and that's okay!) I have had a rough go of the past few months. I have read a lot of people who say it just "clicks" they change their lifestyle, their eating behavious and the weight just rolls right off of them. I am sad to say that my brain has not yet "clicked". While I am exercising (doing the couch to 5k) by running (jogging) every other morning and will say I am probably the fittest I have been in a long while weight wise, I am almost at a standstill. The past 10 weeks (yikes) I have spent losing and gaining the same 5'ish lbs for a total of approx 40lbs lost of which the majority was in the first two months after surgery. I have some restriction but not a huge amount (hopefully my next fill on the 15th will bring me to where I need to be). I can eat anything and only PB'd once when I ate too fast. I realize that I am the one to be held accountable for the lack of weight loss and that I cannot blame anyone except for myself and my actions. I have not modified my eating habits a lot at all, the only difference now is that I don't eat as much but regardless, I still a lot of the time (not all the time) eat foods that I shouldn't. I do not like to cook and that makes it all that much harder to prepare/eat sensibly. So despite the fact that I have been running every other day for 30 minutes (approx 2.5 k'ms) for the past 5 weeks the weight loss is VERY slow and I know it's due to my eating habits. I KNOW I need to change them and I WANT to yet despite that I am having a really hard time doing so. For me the first two months were great... the past 4 months not so much. -
Haha so true. I dont think I've ever weighed what my license says I do when I renewed it. Tee hee. And great NSV!! amazing

I keep thinking that this too wont work for me....
Ang1982 replied to Angel_P's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's not uncommon to have that fear, I still do every once and a while but you just have to remember that with the band and proper restriction you physically won't be able to eat large amounts. Some people lose faster than others but I think that the majority of people lose the weight. You said you've tried so many other diets and weren't successful, so I guess I have to ask - what do you have to lose by having the lapband? It obviously works for people and you will be one of them! Good luck and hang in there, it's a rocky journey but it's worth it! -
Rrrrrr . . . such confusion . . . do I need a fill?
Ang1982 replied to HeatherO's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow, I can't wait for that kind of restriction! Sorry that I can't offer any advice on this as I'm not there yet but just wanted to tell you that you are doing great and keep up the awesome work! And Turkey... how fun!! -
girl you are going to do it and it will be awesome and your hubby will be eating his stupid words!! you can do it!!! Keep up with the running, and definitely allow for some repeat weeks just in case. I think by the time all is said and done i will have done week 4 about 3 times haha.

Yah Starbucks is deceiving how bad the "fancy" drinks can be. White chocolate mocha, non fat, with whip, grande are my fav - but they are 420cals and 13g of fat... even without the whip they are 350 cals and 6g of fat So now if I want a treat I try to go for the Caramel Macchiato - grande non fat is only 190cals and 1g fat

Hmm, I'm not sure what to say. It specifically says that to get the fund money you do not have to devulge the medical information in order to receive that money (I don't think they can legally ask you). While I do not think she should be fired because of it I do think that she should not have LIED about the procedure. She should have said she prefers not to discuss it and leave it at that. She wasn't required to tell them what it was about so she shouldn't have. When she did open her mouth and lie, she was providing false information so... should she have been given the $1000 for her band related complications? Sure, if they have a program in place to assist medical related stuff. Should she have lied about it, most definitely not. Should she be fired for it? No, the person shouldn't have asked her what the medical problem was.

Ang1982 replied to leknigh's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's worth it trust me. It's frustrating and hard to handle sometimes but it's worth it. And if you find a way to shut up the voice inside your head - can you let me know because I'd like to give mine an earful! Good luck! The only thing that I can say - tied to this is - preop - try to avoid "last meal syndrome" as much as you can ... the "i'm going to eat lots of this this and this because I wont have it for a long time if ever again". I had a really bad case of that and gained like 15lbs. And guess what, almost 6months out I can eat everything I could before banding. My biggest piece of advice is that the "last meal syndrome" is not worth it and if I could redo it, I would do that much differently. Hindsight's 2020 -
Hey there, just wondered if you had heard any result of your x-rays etc and what the doctor had to say? Hope you are feeling better!
-
I'm no doctor but to me it can't be all that healthy to go months and months without your period?
-
Wow, I have to say I have been feeling the exact same way and your rubber band suggestion is... fantastic. I am going to go pillage the rubber bands at work tomorrow and that's a great idea. Thank you! Good luck to all of you *hugs*
