    Scrapbooking/journaling your adventure?

I'm not scrapbooking it per say but I am blogging it (link below) of which I will likely print it out along with the pictures that I will be taking along the journey and maybe put them in a book but nothing fancy like scrapbooking.

    feedback from Jan '08 Bandsters

Well I have been bad, i still eat sweets I have always had a bad sweet tooth BUT I am logging everything I eat including my sweets and eating around 1200 calories a day. So, I'm okay with that for now. I figure, why deny myself - I'll just make myself crazy. Everything in moderation right.

    feedback from Jan '08 Bandsters

Well I have lost 28 lbs (and 5.5"s) total (including 5 preop diet) and have had one fill (I will be going for my second on Apr 4 - 4 weeks since last one) and I still have ZERO restriction. So I have recently started counting calories and aiming for 1200 a day. I still struggle to get enough Water in daily. But I'm hanging in there, I get discouraged some days at my loss but remember that the band is meant to work with restriction of which I have none and that I too will have my day. Not looking forward to first PB though that should be... not so fun
  6. YAY! I get to post my first "progress pics". This is the first time I've looked at them and now have realized that I do actually look different. Sorry you get me in my ugly clothes haha. And yah I know it's not a before and after exactly per say, I was just excited
  7. heck no! Chuck them out - but don't forget to keep one as a "reminder" of your journey. My fattest "fat" pants I have kept and I wrote across the ass in a big sharpie FAT PANTS

    This will make you chuckle!

Awww girlie, that gave me the warm fuzzies. How awesome and good on them. Oh man, I'd have needed convincing if that happened to me too to be able to go back. Some people really need to think before opening their traps.

Need a swift kick in the rear!!!!

You are looking fantastic! To maybe get back on track towards hitting your goal - have you been journaling your food? If not, why not start journaling until you get to where you want to be. That way you are accountable to everything that goes in your mouth! Use fitday or daily plate. It's easy to lose track of bad calories when you arent' consciously paying attention. You are doing fabulous and can do this! Dust off that saddle and get back on the horse! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! Maybe make a little chart and committ to doing some sort of exercise everyday even if its just going for a walk for 30-60 minutes. Print it off, put it on your fridge where you will see it and once you have completed the days exercise initial that you have done it. Now you are accountable to yourself too. You don't want to be staring at your chart realizing you are skipping days when you KNOW you are wanting to make that 100 lb goal. DO IT! Heh. Good luck, you know what they say- kick ass and chew bubble gum and well we aren't allowed to chew gum so you have some extra ass kicking to do!
  10. Just giving this a bump in case there is any new interest.
  11. Hey everyone, I am putting this out there to get some information on what those of you from Chilliwack (or the near vicinity) think about having a once a month get together? Let me know if you are interested and based on responses we'll see if we can get something organized. I know that they have a get together in Vancouver at the Lions Gate which I think is an awesome idea - but personally, I can never get up the umph to drive all the way into the city after a long days work. So perhaps something a bit more local is in order? Cheers, Angela

    Your Ah-ha Moment?

I'm not sure I had an exact "a ha" moment but one of the contributing moments would have been this past summer after a family get together for my grandparents 60th anniversary. Someone must have been taking pictures with my camera which I left laying around and in the random shots of someone else, I was in the background walking out a door. WOW. When I saw that picture it made me cry. I've been overweight my entire young life and I guess it just never really hit me how bad until that point. Not long after that in the fall I was researching my lapband options.

    fitday.com (?)

I have a question about Daily Plate now that I am there, is there an option or ability to enter your own food items to your plate without having to enter it through their database? I see the "enter calories manually" but that only lets you fill in the calorie column not fat, protein etc.

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

Oh my gosh this thread has me giggling. My fiance and I are very open, I pee in front of him but couldn't ever do #2 in front of him, he cant #1 in front of me though - stage fright. I have always been a bit on the gassy side and he has some stomach issues so he's VERY gassy so we're just like "meh whatever" if we fart, we fart. And yes, he does the bend over dry hump thing *rolls eyes* men.

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

Hahaha I am sitting here at work grinning and giggling like a school girl. Too funny and too crazy. Although I do not know much info on the DS weight loss surgery and up until today had no idea they had that issue but I do not understand why someone would opt for that surgery vs band or RNY. You may lose weight but eating high fat foods cannot be good for you in other ways. Crazyness.

    overeating/emotions

Hang in there, it sucks having no restriction even with the first fill, I am right there with you and having those same feeling like I'm not losing enough weight feelings but I remind myself that this is just the beginning and if I didn't have the band I wouldn't have lost the 28 lbs I've lost already. *hug*

    A 3-week post-op Cry for Help!

*hug* Hang in there, you can do it. The post healing to first fill stage is a b*tch believe me I know it hit me with a vengance. Maybe journaling your foods each day on fitday.com or dailyplate.com up until your fill will help?
  18. Ang1982

    fitday.com (?)

Well hmmm, I usually enter 98% of the things I eat manually into fitday (time consuming) and I did a search and found a few things I had to manually enter on fitday right away on daily plate. I am not a huge fan of the layout of daily plate but it does seem to be a bit friendlier for food searching. I may stick to my fitday program for weight/measurement tracking (I have the PC program) and use daily plate for calorie/food tracking.

    Knockouts March '08 chat!

I know and I mean 28 lbs in 2 months really is a good accomplishment especially since I didn't have a pre-op dr diet requirement (I did my own thing and lost 5 lbs). I realized yesterday that the reason I am so frustrated with it is - in the past year I gained approx 30lbs (actually technically about 47lbs - did Medifast and lost 17 lbs and then gained it and about 15 lbs of revenge back with a vengance and then ate out a lot and what not with a new relationship, etc etc blah blah blah and managed to gain another 15 or so) which put me at my weight before surgery of around 325lbs or so. Prior to the Medifast and then regain I weighed around 295lbs for a few years (lost 50lbs on Weight Watchers then continued to maintain for those years) and now after losing my 28 lbs I am basically right where I am used to being (the 295lbs) so it almost seems like I haven't done anything yet. If that makes sense. For some reason my brain thinks that I should be at like 270-something but if I hadn't lost/gained that weight over the past year or so I would be. Oh well, that will learn me and it's just a matter of time - I too will have my time. Plus I know I am probably not eating as well as I could with almost no restriction haha.

    Bulging and pain - Help!!

I'm not a doctor and unfortunately I don't even play one on TV but that doesn't sound good to my laymans brain. *big hug* I think you should call your doctor even if you think it's just paranoia. It's better to be safe than sorry hon.
  25. Personally I am not a morning person whatsoever and will stay in bed for as long as possible which means me making Breakfast is not going to happen on work days. So during the week I take a Protein shake for breakfast everyday - it's a good way to ensure I'm getting my protein and at least it means I'm eating something decent in the morning otherwise it would be like a thing of yogurt and might as well have the protein shake. I understand where they come from about saying its preferable to eat solid Proteins first before having something like a shake as it will keep you fuller longer but I think it all depends on your lifestyle as well. Getting up early to make eggs or whatever for me will just never happen so I deal with the shake in the morning and don't eat until lunch time and normally I don't start to feel hungry until after 11am but hold off on eating lunch until noon or so.
