Fantastic! You look fabulous, and I LOVE that dress.

Hang in there! It's a battle but you can do it!!

Oh yah, I'm right there beside you in that boat (feel me rocking it? lol). I'm going for my 2nd fill this Friday and I HOPE HOPE HOPE that it does me some good because the first one didn't do a damned thing. Oh man *hug* that's not fun. At least you have some restriction though right? (trying to find the bright side of a slime). Haha, I know what you mean by the "pressurized" I had that happen once or twice on bites that I didn't chew very well and were too big (to be honest, I don't really need to pay attention to how much i chew/how big bites are right now as it all goes down) but had one time where it was uncomfortable! I felt it go through but was like o darn that's not so fun. Didn't hurt but didn't feel like a massage either lol.

Lol that's an interesting way to look at it, and in some cases that very well may be the case. I actually had a breast reduction about 6 years ago because at 19 I was HUGE. In Canada things are a bit different but medical paid for it because it was considered medically necessary with the strain to my body. Perhaps there may be something that your insurance would cover? Whether it be due to rashes, back strain, anything? Might not hurt investigating when the time comes...

Hehe, thanks. I agree I always go poking through the before and after thread and in separate monthly's threads to see progress pictures. They are such a great reminder and constant inspiration. :crying:

Unfortunately the Chilliwack one is a support group of just me.... hahaha, so far not really any response to wanting to have a get together.

Hmm, may I ask who referred you to her? I wasn't aware that there was anyone in Vancouver area (besides the two surgeons Dr. Leung and Dr.Woodhead) who have anything to do with the Band. Just curious :crying:

looking for something in Vancouver
Ang1982 replied to andreerichards1's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hmmm you might try Pennington's? They used to carry things similar to that. Really not sure if they do - otherwise you may try something like a Bridal store (or somewhere else) that sells Spanx SPANX - places like Champagne & Lace would sell spanx. Or Chantilly Bridal Chantilly Bridal Boutique - Vancouver, Canada -
Mamato3 - wow transformation! You're looking fantastic! Woo hooo.

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

I wondered that exact same thing... -
I hear what you are saying but I am not so sure I agree (and I don't know if this is the atheist in me speaking or not but...). If "God" is meant to heal and take care of people and "God" (whatever your religion/God may be) does exist then there would be no need for modern medicine or surgeons/doctors of any kind. Medicine and doctors exist for a REASON and to blatantly ignore that is no excuse. To watch your child die and say "no she's fine God's taking care of her" is negligence (sp) I don't care how you say it. If someone decided to start their own religion (don't tell me people dont try) and said that they whole heartedly believe it was okay to kill someone because their God said it's okay we'd either send them to a loonie bin or jail before you could say Bob's your uncle. Sure people have their faith and to each their own ... but in my opinion (and that's all this is) this is complete and total crap. They let their child die. You can't tell me that with all their familie's concerns being raised that they didn't think once hmmm maybe we ought to take her to the hospital. I think there is more to this than meets the eye. Am I saying send them to jail when they have other children to look after what about those kids and what's best of them? I don't know glad I wouldn't be the one to make that choice but... no matter how you paint it, they still killed a person with their actions.

Yah I really need to make a better effort that's for sure. I'm going to try to force myself to consciously sip, sip sip away.

My surgeon doesn't sew the ports in as that way its more easy to manuever around and if it does flip he can try to wiggle it back in place w/o having to do surgery. *shrug* whatever made sense to me. But I can feel it when I rub my belly and it'd be easy to tell if it flipped thats for sure.

Oooo those sound tasty!! I'll have to check out the grocery store this weekend...

Any good cottage cheese flavorings?
Ang1982 replied to foxboro jim's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm not a huge fan of cottage cheese and when I was on my post op diet mushies stage I ate A LOT of it. But I figured if I am only eating a 1/2 cup at a time I'm not eating the nasty fat free stuff - so I ate the regular stuff and loaded it with dill and pepper. Made it tolerable. Actually all I ate for lunch on mushies was cottage cheese and all I ate for dinner was refried beans, that's it. I found something I could stick with and rode it out the entire period lol -
Ahh okay I gotcha. Well under the circumstances girlie I wouldn't feel too bad about it. If they didn't put you on a strict "eat x y z" and then gave you something that has a side effect of weight gain then what do they expect! Good luck with everything and don't worry about the hijacking as long as there are no snakes on plane we're alright

Hey Southern Missy, I had a look at your post and just had a couple of questions (I did not have to do a 6 month preop diet thing)... 1) What is your 6 month preop that you have been on? On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being not so good) where would you say you are on it with how well you have been following the diet guidelines? 2) Is the medication that you have been taken known to cause weight gain as a side effect?

Hey Cowgirl, someone beat you to the punch by a day and started this thread yesterday... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f112/feedback-jan-08-bandsters-56632/ you will probably find a bit more info on how everyone's doing!
-
Thanks! I really try to not beat myself up, I swear I do. my most recent blog post was a big eye opener to my thought process and has helped me to figure out why I've been so frustrated lately. I still get frustrated thinking that I am not doing it right (I have no restriction and don't measure my food, but I am only consuming 1200'ish calories a day and going to Curves 4x a week). I am looking forward to my 2nd fill Apr 4 hopefully it brings me to some restriction. The hair cut looks kinda crazy (that's a pic after a work out hehe). Can't wait to see your pics when you post them (and everyone elses!)

Maybe I'm crazy but I thought that you couldn't donate blood within 6 months of having a surgery? -
*big hug* Im not sure if I understand right but are you trying to decide if you go to either and if so which? If you can afford to make the trip I personally would go to say good bye rather than to say hello, there will be plenty of other chances to meet the new baby. Sorry to hear about your mom.
