Yah it is - it's nice to be able to search your foods from VARIOUS different brands on dailyplate and have them there - fitday you have to enter pretty much EVERYTHING. I am a former fitday user and when I found the dailyplate I jumped fitday ship like it was going down.

Heh, my pleasure. I knew a guy friend that did it for a few months and was quite successful and he didn't mind the taste however my fiance tried some of the (LOTS of) left over stuff I had after I quit (probably $150 worth) and he could barely get it down too. Eventually I just threw it out but yah, if someone does want to do Medifast I do HIGHLY recommend getting a sample pack first before investing a lot of $$ into it. Everyone's tastes are different but in my opinion... yeck lol

Hehe I don't have the tall issue as I am only 5'7" but I have hard that Curves doesn't work so good for the taller ladies. I don't mind the other people in a circle thing and actually the time that I go is after I get of work around 4:45pm so it's not super busy then but it's just ... I don't know what it is that I really don't like going to it. Aquafit = water aerobics yup, same thing. There are a couple of places here that offer it - one has a better schedule I could do it every day of the week if I so chose to.

Woo hoo! Keep up the great work You're doing fantastic.

I tried Medifast and didn't even make it through a month - that stuff is NASTY. Every time I had to eat I had to force myself, the taste, the smell... However, welcome back, and good luck with whichever route you go! You can do it. :wink2:

Grats to all you guys and your new NSV's how wonderful! Jtag - I only just got to read this now and I'm sorry that loser stood you up - better off without 'em in my opinion, truly his loss! Keep your head up girl!

Interesting, buffets are not very common up in the area that I live but it would be curious to know if they did do that. I can't justify paying $20+ a plate when I'm eating maybe $5 of that. But like I said, thankfully we don't have buffets here.

doctor said my port is too deep to reach to have a fill

Good luck Puddin! You can do this. How frustrating that must have been to hear that from the doctor. I found during my "non restriction" time without having a fill that was working for me that the best thing I could do was log/journal my food. Good luck! -
I was just going to ask what the obesity death rate was. *big hug* I can't say that I understand what you feel because surgery for some reason doesn't scare me (granted I've never had open heart surgery but I have had a couple surgeries prior to my band). Just go over and over in your mind why you are doing this and before you know it you will be waking up in recovery with a smile. Hang in there.

Just to comment on #1 and 3 - I actually didn't have a preop diet, I did some slimfast / sensible dinners - sort of for a couple weeks before my surgery and lost 5lbs but after surgery it took me days to actually have to poo and when I did I wasn't even backed up. TMI I know haha. And to # 3 - just hehehe maybe. Well I did my own preop smarter eating diet and lost 5 lbs BUT I had a bad case of the "last supper syndrome" and between knowing I'd be getting it for sure and waiting for surgery date I easily gained 15+ lbs. *sigh* so I'd be counted in that category of a poll lol. What you said about the empty stomach before surgery does makes sense ... although I've never had to have that (besides the no food/drink after midnite on day of surgery thing) with any of my surgeries, interesting to know though - thankfully I don't have anesthesia issues and it doesn't make me sick/diarrhea at all. Good to know for others though.

Fantastic! Girl you are looking great. 3 cheers for you!!!

I cannot for the life of me manage to drink the "64 oz a day" of water that we should be drinking. If I get in 18 oz's I'd be doing well. And it's not like I am chosing to drink other stuff over water I just chose to not drink anything at all really. It's 2:30pm here and so far I have drank about 8oz of water all day, other than that the only other thing I have had to drink is my protein shake for breakfast and one cup of coffee this morning. That's it. And that's how my days generall go (although I don't drink coffee everyday, just once in a while). And it doesn't seem to matter if I add Crystal Lite to it or not. It's more the aspect of drinking alllll day long as opposed to what I'm drinking. Grr.

Congrats on your success and your bandiversary! I don't know if I will celebrate my bandiversary per say as much as I plan to celebrate when I reach goal. (Along with small rewards along the way). Ultimately (depends on finances at the time) I would like to go to Las Vegas or something to celebrate my goal. I do plan at some point to reward myself with a new tattoo as well.

Just read the article and have to say wow she looks great and good on her for breaking into that industry that is all about very thin women. She looks fantastic.

I go for my second fill tomorrow and I tell ya this day has not come soon enough. I HOPE I get some restriction with this fill.
-
Mike, Congrats to you on making your decision to become healthier and happier despite the negative reactions from your family members. Good luck on your journey!

Yah sound the "WTF Horn" indeed. *shakes head in amazement*

OH MAN! Kat that made me giggle out loud and it takes something funny for me to read it and actually giggle outwardly. Tooooo funny.

I think this comment was meant for BiCoastal, and it's good advice

I had a "nice" little visit to the ER tonight

Eek that does sound pleasant at all. Glad you are okay now. Hope everything works out with your school and program. -
Way to go! Huge yay's for you

Woo hoo, fantastic! I'm slowly getting it but I don't think that's fully kicked me in the head yet though unfortunately :w00t: Oh hon, I had "last supper syndrome" some kind of bad and to some extent without having restriction in some ways I still do. The brain is a devious thing I tell you, a devious thing. Hang in there! I gained probably 10lbs of "last supper syndrome" prior to surgery and thought "well heck, what does it matter anyways I'm getting my band soon" well now that I'm banded I wish that I hadn't been such a tool at the time because I would be 10lbs less than I am now. Ah well, live and learn. :tt1: Good luck to both of you on your journeys! :biggrin2:

All I can tell you is to hang in there. I didn't get any restriction from my first fill either. Some people can take 3+ fills to find any restriction. My second fill appointment the soonest I could get it was 4 weeks after my first (this friday) and I hope that it brings me some restriction. *hug*

*big hug* Hang in there, just have to remember that it will all be worth it in the end. Just have to remember that it could be worse, some people have to wait 6months to get it done due to their insurance policies. You've already made the decision to get it done you are one step closer to a happier, healthier you. Maybe write out a list of why you want to have the lapband surgery and how it will affect you and your life. Then when you get down about the wait, reread your list and remember that it will all be worth it!
