On The Verge Of Mental Collapse
Chonk replied to MouseOnTheMile's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I'm off to San Diego for a couple days before heading to TJ for my surgery. So this was my last 'Weigh In' until I get back. See you on the other side! Mouse, see you there. BTW for those that were asking: chonk@chonk.net www.facebook.com/jeffyonker -

So get this. I actually GAINED a pound this morning. WTF? Is that even possible? I've been religious about the diet and haven't cheated once. I've been steadily loosing between 1-1.5 pounds a day and now this. I'm not freaking out because I've met my weight goal the nutritionist wanted me to be at, but I'm just confused on how this is even possible. -

Don't worry about it Mouse. My wife didn't hit her 'suggested' weight loss and neither did many of the others that we friended at the clinic that day. They won't turn you away. In fact, one girl in our group, freaked out out the day before (hotel and travel mixups) and had a bacon cheesburger at the TJ Mariott the night before and they still let her have the surgery. Do the best you can. It will make the procedure as well as the healing process go easier, but don't worry about them sending you home because you mised your mark. Remember, bottom line is YOU'RE the customer and you've got the MONEY they want. Does that help? -

Things I will NOT miss about being fat.
Chonk replied to unbesleevable1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Things I will NOT miss about being fat (AKA the main reason I'm doing this) 1. The high risk of a heart attack 2. The high risk of a stroke 3. Diabetes 4. High Cholesterol 5. The chance of not being around to see my kids grow up Everything else is just gravy. -

Yes we are. Wifey and I are spending a couple of days in San Diego before we go to OCC, then a couple of days after too. It's been cold and rainy here in Michigan so I'm looking forward to some sunshine. -

She is although not as much since her surgery. Her handle is KazooGirl. She's had phenominal results. She's down a total of almost 80 pounds and looking real good. You'll meet her. She's coming down with me. Yeah, I feel the anxiety a bit when I'm not doing anything. It's been pretty easy for me by just staying busy. The diet is ok, I'm not tired or anything but man I just want to CHEW something. And of course I suddenly see how EVERY commercial on TV is about food......ugh. Wife wife is now eating pretty much anything she wants. I can't wait to get to that stage. She eats slowly and in small amounts, but can pretty much eat whatever she wants - and she's still losing! Are you coming with someone? Bring your gear and you can ink me while we're down there -

Right there with ya. Literally. We have the same surgery date and doctor. See you on the 12th at the OCC! BTW, this is my 2nd time down. My wife had the surgery in May so I have been through all this with her. It's been great to have all that experience going into this. She knew all the shakes and Protein drinks that didn't taste bad, etc. Even though I've been through it and know what to expect, I'm still a little anxious.
