How long to recoup after surgery?

I so agree. I had 3 c-sections and a radical hysterectomy and the sleeve surgery was by far rougher. I had convinced myself it would be a breeze but I was so wrong. That being said, I am 2 months post-op, 42 pounds lost and if needed I would do it again in a heartbeat. No regrets at all, just wasn't prepared for the recovery. I took 3 weeks off work and was ready at that point to go back, just a little tired. Good luck.

    A question post menopause ladies!

I also have this problem. It is called vaginal atrophy. It is an effect of menopause. Lubricants do help some but there is still pain. Estrogen is not an option for me because of breast cancer issues. I had a hysterectomy 6 years ago at the age of 38, way too young to be facing these kinds of issues. lol The best lubricant I have found is made by Poise, it isn't greasy and gross and really does help. I have been thinking of asking my doc about Orphena. If it works it would be awesome. Good luck!

    Question

That tightness in you chest is an indicator that you are full. Once your diet progresses you will have that "full" feeling but for me if I wait until I feel full, I am usually miserable afterwards. Some people get strange indicators of being full, I've seen some start sneezing or their nose runs. For me I, when I feel a hot flash starting I know I can only tolerate one or two more bites and I better stop. It is funny how our bodies change. Good luck with your journey!

    Vitamin pills

At my 4 week follow up my doc told me I could quit crushing, liquids and chewables and could go to swallowing meds. She put me on prenatal vitamins which are huge and make me so nauseous.

    Cooking with bread crumbs...

Shredded cheddar cheese and egg makes a great binder. Look up Adkins Recipe for meatballs. Yummy!

No. I had UHC but my employer changed to BCBS as if January 1. So I have gone through approval with both insurance companies. UHC approved me but there was no OR time before the end if the year. So I had to be approved January from BCBS.

I am having surgery January 23, 2014. I am so excited. Dr. Needlman is doing mine. OSU is a great choice. My journey went very quick with my first appointment being October 31, 2013. At this stage in your journey the best advice I can give is to be proactive. I always followed up with every appointment and did everything I could to get the appointments done as quickly as possible. I even did a few with other providers due to scheduling constraints. It is an exciting journey, I just went today and made sure I had things for my post-op. Good Luck!!!
