I too have PCOS and it's a pain in the but, well I should say it was a pain in the butt!! I am a slow loser and with the IR trying to lose was hell, I decided to get the Lap Band and change my health once and for all, well here I am 10 months in and 50 lbs lighter!! I knew going into this that it wasn't going to be my "cure all" and I was going to have to work at this, and I have had my struggles, mostly with the head hunger and only eating when I am hungry and not bored, but it has worked, I have stopped taking my Metformin, and my periods have been normal for the past 4 months, I feel so much better and I would recommend the band to anyone. There is hope for women with PCOS, it is called the band.

I have a problem with eggs, they just don't go down well for me and also rice.. tried it once and that was all it took to let me know that I can't have that again!! the only other thing is broccoli.. not sure why but I just can't do it. I however can eat bread if I wanted to but I don't. I may have a piece of toast every now and again and it goes down fine.

I eat salad for lunch and dinner, usually with whatever meat I have made for my family... I don't have a problem with it at all. I do however, have a problem with rice, which is a good thing, cause before the band I could eat at least 2 bowls of rice then my meal, I call my band.. my will power! Thats how I look at it.. can't eat bread, can't eat rice, can't drink soda.. that's my will power.

Hi ladies, don't get down for "only" losing 20lbs, remember what it was like before the band, losing 20lbs would have taken me 6 months!! and that's if I didn't fall off the wagon 2 or 3 hundred times! You are doing a great job!! I have lost 22lbs myself and I cant wait for 22 more!! I just got my 2nd fill on thursday and I can feel the restriction for the first time and I also got to experience my first PB this weekend Keep up the good work and don't get down on yourself, we might be slow losers, but at least we are losers!!

I could really tell with fill number 2, on my first fill I was a little scared (not knowing what to expect) and only had 2.8cc's put in but I went last week and I now have 5.4 cc's in and oh what a change!! Had my first PB this weekend! That is okay though I have also lost 3lbs since Thursday!!:clap2:

I just wanted to tell all of my other Aug. Bandsters thank you.. because i have been feeling guilty for eating things that I really shouldn't...I am glad to see that I am not the only one who is still "adjusting" to our new life... You are all inspirations to me and we will get through this together.... today is a new day... how many of us would have just given up already when that scale stopped on any other diet??? We can't we have all made such progress.. just think a year from now when we are all skinny we will look back and giggle at how worried we were. Keep up the good work everyone, and remember that Faith makes things possible not easy!!:clap2:

okay this sounds funny, but I'm sure y'all have went through this.. my undies don't roll down when I bend over!!! Yipeee!! I also can run around the backyard with my kids, last week we played kickball almost everyday after homework.. I have never been able to do that... I feel great, not sleepy or run down, I actually have what they call "energy" I had heard about it for years, but never really had to deal with it, then one day it snuck up behind me and bit me in the butt... Hi everyone, first off I want to say good job!! I had my surgery on 8/2/07 the first two weeks I was on a liquid diet then 3rd week on soft foods, after that it was back to normal foods.. I just had my first fill of 2.8cc's yesterday, I was so scared to get the fill.. but it was nothing! I am happy to report that I am down 18 lbs!! My doc says that I should really see some weight loss now.. I can't wait:whoo: Just wanted to let all of you know, the first few weeks are the hardest.. but you can do it!!! Hey all, Has anyone had a fill yet?? I get mine tomorrow, I am a bit nervouse, just because of the unknown... I broke my little platau I was on so now I am down 16lbs... I can't tell you how much energy I have, I actually played outside with my kids yesterday. I can't tell you the last time that happened. Just wanted to tell everyone they are doing a great job!! It is nice that we have other people that we can talk to who are going through the same things, at the same times!! I will let you know how the fill goes. Just one last question, where is everyone's port, I have heard some have it in different places, mine is in my belly button..

Hey there everyone, I had my surgery on Aug. 2nd & didn't have any problems, wasn't even really sore.. I was really scared to eat regular food after not eating for 2 1/2 weeks, but I am doing fine, I have lost 12lbs so far, I thought it would be more, but I am totally happy with that, I have PCOS so I knew my weight loss would be slow... I just wanted to check in and say hi to everyone and congrats to those who are loosing, I also wanted to say I will be saying a prayer for all of those who are yet to get their surgery... You will all do fine.. just think a year from now....we will all be sharing our stories of how much we have lost.

Hi everyone, first off let me tell you that you all have been an inspiration to me so far, I read the posts everyday!! Way to go everyone!! I was banded on Aug. 2nd and have been on my liquid diet for the last two weeks, this thursday I will be able to have some soft foods, but I am afraid.. does that make sense??? I am afraid to eat food, believe me I want to, I think I am just scared because I haven't eaten in about 2 1/2 weeks (pre-op liquid diet)... Has anyone else felt this way?

I had 4, my doctor used 2 of my old ones from when I had my gallbladder removed.

Hey there, I am having mine done on August 2, 2007. I am a little nervous, I just keep thinking about the outcome, and it calms me down. I think I am more nervous about the bowel prep... ewwww :phanvan I wish you all good luck with your surgeries, and all the weight loss after! I am sure we will be talking again very soon!!
