To help get use to the seat, I rode the stationary bike until I was ready for the spin class. This helped me develop a nice solid form for riding a bike. I also purchased a seat cushion because that little seat hurts more in men... I'm looking forward to getting back into class in September (after my 6th week)...

I really recommend Dr. Nishi at Cedars-Sinai. I live in Orange County and found that I wasn't the only person that drove a great distance to be a part of the Center for Weight Loss Surgery... Very good service but a little slow with the calls from the Care Coordinators... The center at Orange Coast Memorial was to pushy and only did gasteric bypass.

I started walking prior to Surgery to get the blood flowing and continued after working my way up to 30 minutes a day... So I decided to wash my car one day and then it hit me... Light-Headed... I had to stop for a while and continue at a much slower pace. It took me 2 hours to complete the process... Why does this happen? I'm used to doing things and washing my car is a weekly chore that I had no problems with before surgery... Thanks, Nate 450+/423/393/280

Thanks for the 411... My blood pressure has been boderline high for years. My last visit after surgery it was 127/74, the lowest in years... My doc is thinking of removing me off the meds as I continue to lose more weight... But until then, I'll just take easy while washing the ride...

EAS also makes meal replacement shake that is just as good called Myoplex Carb Sense. Get the Chocolate and Vanilla... Post surgery, I would mix whey into my shake to keep my daily protein goal of 100 grams.

Having this surgery was the best move I made for myself ever!!! No regrets and I really like the outcome everyday... My initial weight was 450 lbs but had to get my BMI down to have Lap-Band... Lost that weight and my official pre-op weight was 423... Had surgery on 7/12/07 and now I weigh 393 (18 days) and I've lost 30 lbs... The air in my stomach was the only pain I had but walking right away helped... Now I walk at least 30 minutes a day... The key for me is making sure I have my 100 grams of protien on a liquid diet... The EAS shakes really help... No complaints at all... Looking forward to hitting the gym in a few weeks... Nate in Los Angeles, CA Dr. Nishi @ Cedars-Sinai / The best doctor in the land... I went through the same thing prior to getting my lap band... I had to lose 50 lbs to get my BMI under 50 before my insurance would cover this surgery... Well, knowing my past history of trying to lose weight it was a struggle... Many times of gaining and losing over a 5 month period. But the one thing that really helped me lose and keep losing was trying the post surgery diet. I ate only the foods allowed post surgery. Protein shakes, Low-Calorie intake, low sugar Jello, etc... Not only did this help me lose but it also helped me identify the foods that I will be having for the rest of my life... The Myoplex Carb Sense by EAS are my favorite things to have... chocolate and vanilla... I replaced most of meals with them. (Incorporated some of the philosophy of Body for Life). 3 shakes a day and one healthy meal. Lots of fruit and Water...
