Pain in my left leg after surgery
Short N Sweet posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery last week on the 22nd and every since I've had this pain in my left leg. Its not my whole leg either just on the side of my thigh. I walk as much as I can and after about 15 to 20 minutes its starts, these spasms start happening. My mother had to drive me home one day because it was so bad! Now, I know everyone is going to tell me to go to the doctor, well the FNP at CCS told me she has never heard of this happening and to just keep walking. And my primary doctor's appointment isn't until the end of next month, I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this? Is this a side effect of the anesthesia? -
After Surgery Taste Issues

Yup! Artificial sweeteners taste horrible now and real sugar taste better. Premier protein tasted like crap but muscle milk taste great, weird. -
How much weight did you lose?
Short N Sweet replied to Kayla Monee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery May 22, I weighed 352 and today I weigh 318. -
First off, I am excited and nervous that its happening, I mean where did the time go? I am trying to pack everything I would need and leave the things I won't. My biggest worry is getting my water in and soreness. I have to be at the hospital by 730 am and my surgery is suppose to start at 930 am. I already had my gallbladder taken out but this feels like its on a whole other level. I just can't wait to see how this is going to change my life for the better!

So I had my surgery and got released today. It was as bad as I thought, the gas pain in my leg is awful! The doctor said he could only do the sleeve portion and couldn't do the reroute of the intestines, something about the instruments were bending. I had to spend two days in the hospital and I was going stir crazy. Right now i'm walking and I even showered today which felt great. So i'll see how everything goes.

Should I Start Juicing or Have Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
Short N Sweet posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So my mother and I had some concerns about the surgery but I have done so much research my head is starting to hurt. My mother suggested maybe I could try juicing to lose weight. I don't know if juicing will work. I don't know if the surgery will work. I just need something that will take this weight off for good. Can someone offer some advice? I know juicing is the new weight loss fad but I wonder if it really can work for me, I really struggle with will power. -

anyone hoping for an early summer surgery?
Short N Sweet replied to tiredmama's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I too want to have my surgery in June. Otherwise, I can't take the time off from work, I have spring break but that only gives me a week and I would need more time than that to recover. -
Hello everyone! I'm pretty new here but I've been lurking on the website since I found it, a few weeks ago. I'm in the beginner stages of getting the surgery. Last month I met with the doctor who would be my surgeon, he was really nice and concerned which made me feel at ease. But he said I have a dangerous stomach? I later found out what he was talking about(I gain most of my weight around my mid section). Then he recommended the duodenal switch since my BMI is over 60, I said no and that I felt more comfortable with the gastric sleeve. Then after that was all over my mother has now become dead set against it. She believes I can do this the old fashion natural way but I don't think I can. And then I haven't even started the diet i'm suppose to be doing for surgery(I think I will try the liquid diet to make It easier on myself). So now i'm at a cross roads with myself and my mother. I have way over 100lbs to lose and I think i'll end up failing if I do this naturally, I believe the sleeve can help me lose the weight and keep it off. I'm 29 years old if that helps and also in a few years I want to start a family. What are your thoughts on my predicament?

I've never had surgery before...Don't know what to expect?!
Short N Sweet posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've never been in any type of surgery and I'm kind of nervous as to what I might go through. I'm sorry if this was posted anywhere else but this is another issue that's been pressing on my mind. -

Thank you everyone for the support! Maybe I will convince her to come with me to a support group so she can learn more about the procedure. -
Should I have the surgery?
Short N Sweet replied to Short N Sweet's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, I forgot to mention that i'm paying for the surgery through my job insurance I have with Kaiser. My mother has met with my general doctor who I got the referral from but not my surgeon. Because he's in south Sacramento and we live in the central valley here in California, it might be ways for her to travel. Right now she's also unwilling to drive me from the hospital if I have the surgery done. I do have a co-worker that offer me transportation from the hospital if I have it done.
