    After Surgery Taste Issues

Yup! Artificial sweeteners taste horrible now and real sugar taste better. Premier protein tasted like crap but muscle milk taste great, weird.

How much weight did you lose?

    I had surgery May 22, I weighed 352 and today I weigh 318.
  3. I had surgery last week on the 22nd and every since I've had this pain in my left leg. Its not my whole leg either just on the side of my thigh. I walk as much as I can and after about 15 to 20 minutes its starts, these spasms start happening. My mother had to drive me home one day because it was so bad! Now, I know everyone is going to tell me to go to the doctor, well the FNP at CCS told me she has never heard of this happening and to just keep walking. And my primary doctor's appointment isn't until the end of next month, I just wanted to know if anyone has experienced this? Is this a side effect of the anesthesia?

    Surgery tomorrow!

So I had my surgery and got released today. It was as bad as I thought, the gas pain in my leg is awful! The doctor said he could only do the sleeve portion and couldn't do the reroute of the intestines, something about the instruments were bending. I had to spend two days in the hospital and I was going stir crazy. Right now i'm walking and I even showered today which felt great. So i'll see how everything goes.

    Surgery tomorrow!

First off, I am excited and nervous that its happening, I mean where did the time go? I am trying to pack everything I would need and leave the things I won't. My biggest worry is getting my water in and soreness. I have to be at the hospital by 730 am and my surgery is suppose to start at 930 am. I already had my gallbladder taken out but this feels like its on a whole other level. I just can't wait to see how this is going to change my life for the better!
  6. So my mother and I had some concerns about the surgery but I have done so much research my head is starting to hurt. My mother suggested maybe I could try juicing to lose weight. I don't know if juicing will work. I don't know if the surgery will work. I just need something that will take this weight off for good. Can someone offer some advice? I know juicing is the new weight loss fad but I wonder if it really can work for me, I really struggle with will power.
  7. You look totally different and younger! Congrats to you!
  8. I'm with Kaiser, I weighed in at 330 and they're requiring me to lose 25 pounds.

anyone hoping for an early summer surgery?

I too want to have my surgery in June. Otherwise, I can't take the time off from work, I have spring break but that only gives me a week and I would need more time than that to recover.
  10. I've never been in any type of surgery and I'm kind of nervous as to what I might go through. I'm sorry if this was posted anywhere else but this is another issue that's been pressing on my mind.
  11. I have made the decision to start my diet tomorrow. I'm going to do a liquid diet of protein shakes and clear liquids.

    Should I have the surgery?

Thank you everyone for the support! Maybe I will convince her to come with me to a support group so she can learn more about the procedure.
