Dallas mentor and/or buddies? Surgery: Jan 2014

I had my surgery October 17th at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Unfortunately, they don't have a support group so I'm looking to meet some folks in the DFW area to swap stories and encourage one other.

Who In Here Is Drinking Sodas

No sodas for me and I plan to keep it that way. I am really addicted to vitamin water zero!

    Anybody in the DFW area?

Thanks BADBOY! After I posted I noticed the long thread for Dallas. I'm actually looking for a local group, UT Southwestern's group is on hiatus.

    Oct 21-26

Sleeved on October 17th and things have been great, no nausea and very little pain post op. I'm still struggling to get my Protein shakes and Water in. I'm allowed to have 1 cup a day of soft food broken up into four 1/4 cup meals. I was told that I need to be taking in 1,000 calories a day which seems impossible. I do good to get 500-600 in. Any suggestions??

Actually, I didn't get to eat soft/puréed foods until 2 weeks post-op. I am curious about everyone's progress. I am down 19lbs since surgery, how about you?

Hello VSG community! I had my surgery on the17th. Recovery was better than expected, no nausea or vomiting thank goodness. I was doing so well they released me a day early from the hospital. Aside from really bad hunger pangs and hitting a brick wall on day 5 with the Protein shakes (too sweet), I was thrilled to move on to soft/puréed food. I have yet to get in all my protein and Water but I'm trying. Like everyone else, I really miss the act of eating and trying to identify that notorious "yellow light bite" has been hard. I have spent whole life eating so fast that knowing when to stop before your miserable is difficult to identify. I am so happy that I found this forum. I have really enjoyed reading everyone's experiences and look ford to getting feedback from all of you. Love from Texas! -Monya
