Cheeseburger In A Blender, Travel Tips And Encouragement

Of course. I am so used to one thing at a time, that I didn't even think of combining that way. -
Cheeseburger In A Blender, Travel Tips And Encouragement
Fluffnomore replied to Fluffnomore's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Thanks. And here's another question: are scrambled eggs sliders? I am having no trouble with them, but it feels like a food I could eat a lot of. One egg doesn't feel like enough. Two is probably too much. But I was hoping that because it's real food, it would fill me up better than a Protein shake or soup. Just feeling my way through. -
Sleeved 10/24. For the most part I am doing okay but I am having trouble getting my sleep in sync. I seem to need to be in bed by 9:30, and I keep waking up at 4:45-5. I know, go to bed later…except that I literally CAN'T. My PA told me yesterday that when I get back to my exercise routine (CrossFit) the energy will come back and it will be easier to sleep. I hope so. I keep thinking I will just take a nap in the middle of the day but then I forget to. Oh well.

I Suffer From Chronic Loose Bowels Does Any One Else Have This Problem?
Fluffnomore replied to Chelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had this for 5 years after having the gallbladder removed. Since surgery (in October) my bowel movements have really firmed up. Too much, in my opinion. I never bothered with medications, but that's because by the time I figured out what I thought it might be, this surgery was scheduled and I figured I should see how/if it would change. And sure enough, it changed! Sorry you're going through it. It is a bit uncomfortable to deal with although after 5 years of it I certainly had my coping strategies. Besides, it usually only happened in the morning after Breakfast, so my theory was that it was because I shocked my system back into working after a long night. I'm obviously not a medical professional. Good luck! -
Bad Breath
Fluffnomore replied to New Lease On Life's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ha! Yes, I've noticed that the bathroom is a no-fly zone after I've visited it in the morning. It is a bit, erm, pungent. -
Our practice recommends waiting at least a year post-procedure to get pregnant. However they mention in the literature that unplanned pregnancies are very common, particularly among women who were having trouble conceiving. That ship has sailed for me, so this is only anecdotal. :-)

I wonder if part of that is that there's a fair amount of sarcasm and teasing that go on all around. I agree with you, Revs…there are some people who seem to have trouble keeping a civil tone. Then again, tone is so subjective. Sigh. I don't know. I am a-skeered to join a lot of conversations right now.

Hope To Be In Onederland Jan 1St. Want To Join The Challenge?
Fluffnomore replied to Tiki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sure, why the heck not? -
Okay, I don't want to start a new thread for this, but I have two observations from the doctors today. Despite my 5 day stall everyone is pleased with my progress. I get to go back to CrossFit in two weeks. Second, if you are planning to bring your wife into your physical to help remember various things, and they ask if you mind if a medical student comes in, and it turns out that you are needing a prostate check, AND your regular physician asks if you mind if "Megan" the medical student also cops a feel because it's so hard to find men who are willing to let female medical students check a prostate, you might want to believe your wife when she says, "I won't peek." I totally didn't, but I was shaking in embarrassed laughter for my poor DH.

In other enabling news (or not) this might win the internet. http://www.avclub.com/article/watch-the-excellent-toronto-mayor-rob-fordchris-fa-105796?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=SocialMarketing&utm_campaign=LinkPreview:1:Default What? I thought we were in the Trust Tree…in the nest...

Yay 9 Days Post And I Can Hold Down Liquids Again!
Fluffnomore replied to Branmuffin's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Great news! -
Right? I can see it now. "It's November in Chicago, WHY is that woman going into the medical office in a swim coverup and flip flops?" My fat brain also tried to convince me to weigh my shirts to see which was lighter. (I didn't, btw.) I shouldn't be let outside without a handler.

Stomach Pain...ulcer?

Do you still have your gallbladder? -
Have you talked to your doctor? You may need IV fluids at this point, and it might help with everything.

Okay, seriously? Every time I step away from the forum, a thread gets its wings. Just did the doctor visit with husband to see if we can dig up another comorbidity for him. I leave in about an hour for my 4 week follow up with the surgeon (and am trying hard to just be cool and not try to take off any more weight, or wear shorts, or anything like I used to with WW.) Let's everyone try to stay at least within the yellow zone while I'm gone, hm?

Not a vet, but I had a pic briefly and decided I didn't want it picked up in a screen shot for use on the Bariatic Pal app.

Dr. O'Brien says so, and he is the leading expert on this. Everyone KNOWS this and if you don't believe it, you are being noncompliant.

I also work at home and never got involved with my PTOs until recently. I am on the executive board of a local foundation and had a meeting with the incoming president (a man who is raising his children but used to be a big time executive) and our ED. He related a story about some of the competitiveness and cattiness of the women on his local PTO and then said, "I like you two because you act like men." Sad commentary. But I do live in a relatively well-off area, and the competition is crazy. Who drives the newest Escalade. Who has the best hair, best body, most sex, richest husband, brightest children. It is crazy-making as well. I get into trouble sometimes because I present my children as they are: good kids, bright but lazy, clocking in right in the median. Myself: yes, that's the same pair of jeans I usually wear and one of about 5 very similar black long-sleeved t-shirts. Yes, I live in a "small" house that has seen better days. So what? I don't pretend my life is perfect and try to keep it real. As far as competition with WLS? Bitched, please. I have a good friend who was sleeved in June. Started out 10-15 pounds heavier than me; has been in a horrible stall for a couple of months. I passed her on that stall at 2 weeks. I have not mentioned it. You know why? It has nothing, NOTHING to do with her and I know it would make her feel like crap. What I suppose I need to do is plug this into GG's formula for her, but I've been worried it will just confirm the stall. What I'm saying is how on earth can any person say they are doing it right and you are doing it wrong? With the exception of making stupid choices (and even those can be met with empathy and sympathy rather than censure), isn't the point of WLS putting ourselves in the control of the program and trusting our bodies to do the rest? No patience. Laura, you have been a huge help to me since I started lurking on the forum. Do not listen to the nabobs and ne'er-do-wells. Please.

How Many Days/nights In Hospital?
Fluffnomore replied to MindiJean's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had one night. In retrospect I probably could have gone home the same day, but my surgeon does the swallow test the next morning. Also, I had big love for the dilaudid and took full advantage. Most pleasant hospital stay I have ever had. Then again, my several hospital stays have taught me to take full advantage of all pain meds. Wonder of wonders, I think that really helped my recovery... -
No More Protein Shakes/smoothies?
Fluffnomore replied to susan6161's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My good friend who was sleeved in June and has been somewhat slow in weight loss got this same directive. She is to avoid all "sliding" Proteins as well as what we think of as regular sliders, so…no Protein shakes, no yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. Even though they are good protein sources, the thought is they are not filling her up the way harder proteins would. -
Where, where?? I swear, my nighttime habit of going to bed early really interferes with my enjoyment of reading crazy. ETA: Never mind. Found it. Siiiiigggghhh. So Butter's a liar now?

Well, I don't like that it's open but there are no red streaks leading away from it. Oh, and also? I'm not a doctor.
