MtAirygirl got a reaction from thesmilos in Onederland New Year

I know what's going on - you are normal! I remember stressing about it, too. I think for me it was because I was just overly focused and time didn't move fast enough for me. I wanted to lose a lot, every day! In fact, I still do Just take a deep breath, keep doing what you are doing, and it will come off.

MtAirygirl reacted to Butterthebean in HOW TO GUIDE for Chewing and Spitting
It really doesn't seem like the OP wanted advice at all...at least not from us. He did ask that any medical professionals should weigh in if they choose....but I think it's safe to say that any competent medical professional is going to err on the side of decency, safety and healthy responsibility by not encouraging this horrible behavior in any way.
Yes it's true, many people here have done this. I did it a couple of times in my first 2 weeks. That doesn't make it ok nor should we promote a "safe" method of doing it. This OP is enabling a deadly eating disorder....nothing else.
This forum is about helping others and sharing ideas. And I know that's exactly what the OP was trying to do....but we have a responsibility not to help others go down a destructive path. And in my humble opinion, this entire thread will only give encouragement to someone who happens along looking to justify their destructive behavior.

MtAirygirl got a reaction from kw2walker in Any Pennsylvania Sleevers?
My surgery went well. I stayed an extra day in the hospital, my b/p was up. The first three days were rough but after that no pain or vomiting. I am having trouble getting the daily Protein and fluids in, but I understand that's normal. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and New YOU.

Hi all! I am new to this site- just started seriously considering VSG a few weeks ago. I live in the Philly suburbs. It looks like my insurance would probably approve Abington or Einstein and both are convenient for me- anyone want to weigh in on pros/cons of either program? Thanks!

MtAirygirl reacted to Bufflehead in Post-Op Tray Picture
I had Decaf coffee and tea, G2, Water, skim milk, a bottle with Protein Powder to make a shake, and sugar free Jello. They brought me new trays three times a day and I had a little chart that I had to mark off how many ounces I drank every fifteen minutes.

MtAirygirl reacted to MonisNatural in Yesterday (12/3) Was My Surgery Date......yaaaaaaaaay!
Yesterday was an awesome day, I was sleeved. I was a bit nervous but definitely more excited! Everything seemed to move so quick that I didn't time time to stay nervous. When I came to in the recovery room I felt like I'd been hit by a truck but that feeling went away quickly. There was, however, a girl next to me that screamed the whole time and that was pretty annoying. I started walking last night and have been walking periodically every chance I get. Overall I have some soreness and a bit of pain but feel great. I'm look forward to beginning my new life. Yay!!!!!!!

MtAirygirl got a reaction from AshleyMidwife in Nurses As Bariatric Patients
I am also a nurse and agree with JanetPRN, Aaliyanah and the study. It has been difficult balance. For me the long busy days that are mostly on your feet makes it difficult to exercise before or after work. Especially with the plantar fasciitis I developed from work. Also at my job we cannot keep any food or drink at the workstation. Often times while on your break, you are interrupted and do not get to finish. I feel like I'm always eating on the run. I also feel the pressure of being a better example for my patients. How can I instruct a patient on diet and exercise? For the record, it took me a long time to decide to have this surgery. Most of my colleagues including myself do not want any type of surgery because you know too much. I am not having the surgery where I work because I wanted to maintain my privacy and also release control over to someone else. Whatever the reason, occupation, etc. I wish everyone well.

MtAirygirl reacted to LilMissDiva Irene in The Official What You Will Need For Your Upcoming Weightloss Surgery Thread!
QUESTION:
"I'm having surgery soon, what will I need for my hospital stay or for shortly after???"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay, ladies and gentlemen, this question comes up here so much - I felt it would be a great idea to start up an official thread. My plan is once I think the list is great enough, I'm going to create a checklist for all the folks out there that will be sleeved shortly and have the above question. Then if you are around long enough and as much as I am, and someone has that question you can just lead them to this thread. Fair enough?
Sometimes it's just nice to have everything all in the same place, kinda following the Walmart rule of thumb. They are very successful, aren't they?
Anyway, please start with your suggestions and I'll get my MSWord fired up. I'll also start with the first suggestion:
Comfy Pajamas, underclothes, and slippers or warm cozy socks...
MtAirygirl got a reaction from Leepers in Nurses As Bariatric Patients
Aaliyanah, my surgery date is December 9, I'm excited and extremely nervous. But I am glad I found this website and as added plus so many nurses like me. I have very little support at home, so keep the positive energy coming.
I told very few people of my surgery oct 30. Did not want all the "eyes". I only told people who would be supportive. This is a good site. You will not feel alone
