Any Pennsylvania Sleevers?
MtAirygirl replied to JordynsMom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi bandmomtb, My surgeon is Dr Bonanni and I can't say enough good things about him. The staff at the Warminster office is great. My stay at Abington was phenomenal. I don't regret choosing Abington at all. I have worked at several big teaching hospitals as nurse and I was impressed. My loved ones were pleased , they kept them informed and they were comfortable waiting. You are in good hands. Dr Noonan has a great bedside manner, she covered for Dr Bonanni the second post op day. -

Mtairygirl, how did your surgery go?! My surgery went well. I stayed an extra day in the hospital, my b/p was up. The first three days were rough but after that no pain or vomiting. I am having trouble getting the daily protein and fluids in, but I understand that's normal. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and New YOU. -

Nurses As Bariatric Patients
MtAirygirl replied to LynRN's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Aaliyanah, my surgery date is December 9, I'm excited and extremely nervous. But I am glad I found this website and as added plus so many nurses like me. I have very little support at home, so keep the positive energy coming. -
Hi everyone, I'm getting very nervous my surgery is December 9. I'm single, no children and live in the Philadelphia area. I Don't have a lot of support. Last year I tried to feel my friends and family out and most of them were against the surgery. So only one of my friends really know what is going on. Any suggestions and words of wisdom we be appreciated.

Nurses As Bariatric Patients
MtAirygirl replied to LynRN's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am also a nurse and agree with JanetPRN, Aaliyanah and the study. It has been difficult balance. For me the long busy days that are mostly on your feet makes it difficult to exercise before or after work. Especially with the plantar fasciitis I developed from work. Also at my job we cannot keep any food or drink at the workstation. Often times while on your break, you are interrupted and do not get to finish. I feel like I'm always eating on the run. I also feel the pressure of being a better example for my patients. How can I instruct a patient on diet and exercise? For the record, it took me a long time to decide to have this surgery. Most of my colleagues including myself do not want any type of surgery because you know too much. I am not having the surgery where I work because I wanted to maintain my privacy and also release control over to someone else. Whatever the reason, occupation, etc. I wish everyone well. -
Hi Philly here going to Abington Hospital December 9
