Do you have to take liquid Tylenol or can you take it in pill form? I can't find it in liquid form in adult strenght.
-
Thanks, that makes me feel better because I thought that it might be scar tissue. I appreciate your quick response.

I have a question too. I feel something right where my port incision is located. It is hard and I thought it was the port. Some people on this forum said the port would not be where your incision is located. My doctor said it would be near my rib. I am going for my follow up today and I will ask him to show me where it is. Thought someone could give me feedback sooner though.

Anyone wear a medical id bracelet?
angiebell replied to piercedqt78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think the bracelet is a great idea. I did place my card directly behind my drivers license just in case they look at my id if I should be involved in an accident. -
I Have An Option-need Your Advice
angiebell replied to I'llsucceed's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Although I was only recently banded and my port incision is above and to the left of my belly button, if I wear shorts or pants that come to my waist it interferes with my port. I need to wear the pants that rise to just below my belly button to be comfortable. Sometimes I get a pain like runner cramp and it is in the lower left side of my abdomen, which could increase if your port was placed in that position. I go for my follow up today and I am going to ask my doctor exactly where my port is located because I can't feel it. I think it is just under my lower rib on the left side just above the port incision. The scar is about 1 1/2" long and I believe you will always be able to see it. The other 4 incision are very small and will most likely fade away. I hope that give you a little help. Good Luck on your surgery! -
Congratulations Christina! You will succeed! I know it has been a long battle and a big decision for you. Best of luck on your surgery and weightloss.

Two week followup and I feel great!
angiebell replied to BeckyinTexas's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Becky, I am so glad to hear that you are doing so well! I go to my post-op appointment on Tuesday. I ate very finely ground chicken salad (my first attempt at meat) and I had no issues with it. It was sooooo good. I ate about 2 tablespoons. Keep up the good work!! -
My pain was very limited other than the feeling of runners cramp that I experienced for a few days. I am 2 1/2 weeks out of surgery and I feel great! Don't worry, post op pain is not bad at all.

SlimmerSue, I had the exact pains you are describing and I went to the sporting goods store and bought a waist trimmer (it is a binder for your waist made out of neoprene). I wore it for a day and the pain in my side went away. Me and my husband both have the lump at the port incision. I think it is normal and will go away.

I had my two week post op appt yesterday!!
angiebell replied to tambonzjo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I ate refried beans yesterday and they did not set well with me. Felt like they were trying to come back up 3 hours after I ate them. I think they were too thick. Next time I try eating them I will have to thin them with some water. I love eating mashed potatoes even though I know they have lots of calories. It's been 2 weeks since my surgery and I actually tried mashed potatoes before I was supposed to. Had them last weekend. Didn't seem to have any issues with that. Great job on your weight loss! Good Luck on your fill. -
Happy Birthday Kathy (The best me)
angiebell replied to hagerteresa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kathy, I need to celebrate with you, it sounds like you had a great time. It's fun when you can make your birthday celebration last for several days. Turning 40, you deserve to make it last as long as possible:banana -
Oh.....I am so glad you said that because I have the same thing. It does seem to be getting smaller though. I go to the doctor on Tuesday for my follow up appointment. I'm glad you are okay!

I'm glad you made the decision to go with the band. My sister-in-law and uncle had gastric bypass and my husband and I opted for the band. Our recovery has been a breeze compared to theirs. Yes, we will have to work harder to lose the weight but when you weigh all the risks, it's worth it. Just remember that the band is a tool to help us to achieve the weight loss results we are looking for. We had our bands put on 2 weeks ago and we both feel great! Good luck with your surgery and welcome to LBT.

Help! This Liquid PreOp Diet is the Pits!
angiebell replied to Tuff Enuff's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Advant Edge & Body for Life drinks are both good and have 15 grams of protein. I'm having one right now and it is yummy. They aren't gritty like the protein powder. They are very satisfying to the appetite too. Also slim fast has a new drink called Optima that has half the sugar of regular slim fast. Also try sugar free pudding mixed in with the protein powder...it hides the taste of the protein powder. -
Today is the first day since my surgery that I feel really hungry. I don't want to overeat. I am beginning mushies but can't seem to get a full enough feeling. Is there a mushie food that keeps you satisified longer? HELP!

New and not much improved...yet
angiebell replied to cathyRN's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Cathy, Welcome to LBT. Your doctor gave you a great site for support. I have not had a fill yet because I am only out 2 weeks from my surgery date. I think now that you have made a commitment to get back on track...you will begin to see the scale going back in the right direction. Good luck with this next phase of your weight loss experience. -
Excellent job Teresa! You do have a lot to be proud of and look at the difference in your pictures. That speaks for itself. You look great. Happy Bandiversery!

Glad you made it through the surgery and the dry heaving. It gets easier every day. Way to go on the 21 lbs. That is an accomplishment to be proud of!

Dr. Powell with Lap band solutions in Richardson TX is very good. He did mine and my husbands surgeries. No problems so far. His staff will work with your insurance to get you approved.
