I took a drink of water at about 5:00 am this morning and my chest was hurting really bad. I guess I can't drink anything that early. The nurse told me to drink something warm like tea or coffee to get rid of the mucous from the night before. I am having to re-learn a lot of things now that I have a fill.
-
I was filled today and have the same pain. Never had it before the fill though. I think mine was the result of trying to drink thick protein drink (body for life).

Leatha, I really like your quote. We should all remember that "Nothing tastes as good as thinner feels" AMEN
-
Wow! That's great. What a beautiful spot to swim. Glad you got to see it and hope you will many more times.

I got my first fill this morning and they gave me 1.2 cc. The fill center made me drink a glass of water before I could go home and as I was drinking it, I felt like I had a bubble in my throat. I was going to get some of the fill removed but then the bubble went away. They said I should be okay. I had some egg drop soup for lunch and it went down just fine. I told the nurse that I have been having dizzy spells and she said I may be anemic (sp?) and I need to increase my protein intake. I tried to have a protein drink a few minutes ago and OMG I had a mini PB! The protein drink is a liquid and I thought I would be able to drink that. Now I have a pain in my chest. Is this normal. The fill center really didn't think I was overfilled. Could it just be swelling?

They did tell me 72 hours of liquids, but also said I could drink the protein drink. It just didn't go down and I had a little slim come up. Yuck! Thanks for your advice.

angiebell replied to pattyann's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Pattyann, You have lost an average of 2 lbs a week and that is great! I am on that same average and even though the scale has been stuck a while...I still know that I am on target. Be proud of what you have accomplised so far. -
I just prayed for both Rico and Chris. Please keep us posted on what the doctor says.

anyone else allergic to penicillin?
angiebell replied to Stacey1985's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am allergic to penicillin too and the doc perscribed Zythromax. It was very bitter and tasted horrible....but it only lasted for a couple of minutes. -
I agree, walking is the best thing to help the gas pass.

My husband goes for a fill today and the doctor told him nothing to eat for 4 hours before the fill.

Hey Mom, I had my surgery a couple of days before you and sometimes I get cramp pain in my left side. It is usually when I am over exerting myself. I have been stuck at the same weight for over a week now. The doctor told me it is time for a fill since the swelling has gone down on my stomach. I am going for a fill on June 1st. You may ask your doctor if he thinks it is time for you to get a fill. I'll let you know if this helps to get my weightloss back in the right direction.

Anyone have Dr. Robert Powell in Dallas
angiebell replied to a topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
My husband and I both used Dr. Powell. I was banded on April 27th and he on the 29th. We have both healed very well and have had no problems at all. Our 1st fills will be May 31st for him and June 1st for me. Dr. Powell is a trained heart surgeon who started doing the lap band procedure. I think he has done around 500 surgeries so far. My good friend had her surgery yesterday and she also used Dr. Powell. -
Right now I seem to be able to eat breakfast. When I was swollen after surgery, I had a hard time. I am going for my first fill June 1st. Do you think it will make it change back to like it was when my stomach was swollen?

Okay, this is a story about my 3 year old Grandaughter Valerie. She has recently come up with an imaginary friend. She says her name was Stella. Unusual becasue that is an older name. One day she was very upset and came to my daughter crying and said that Stella died. My daughter comforted her and assured her it would be okay. Then the next day they were driving down the street and Valerie said..."there goes Stella". My daughter said, "where is she going"? "To our house, she lives there". She told my daughter that Stella has 2 kids, a boy and a girl. Then my daughter knew that her imaginary friend was an older person. Last week she was getting ready for dress rehersal a dance recital and my daughter put her hair up in a bun and she said "oh! my hair looks like Stella's". My daughter asked "Does Stella have brown hair"? "No, she has white hair" . Then the day of the recital she said that Stella was coming to the recital and she was going to sit next to Grandma (Valerie's Great Grandmother). The thing that makes me believe that Stella is a ghost is that Valerie's Great Great Grandmother (Grandma's Mother) was named Stella. She had white hair and always wore in a bun. She had 2 children, a boy and a girl and she is deceased. She lived to be 95 so may daughter knew her well and admired her so much. Coincidence? Well maybe, it just seems so stange how everthing matches.

It was beautiful and I loved the beach theme and the colors were just so pretty too. The Japanese lanterns were such a nice touch.

My doctor put me on Zithomax suspension. You only have to take it once a day for 5 days. The only thing I noticed is that I would get dizzy when I laid down or got up fast.

First Appointment June 3!
angiebell replied to DaNieLLaBeLLa's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome to LBT. This is a great board. I am scheduled for my first fill on June 1st, although I am trying to change it to May 26th since I will be at the surgery center because my friend is having her lap-band surgery that day. Are you nervous about your fill? -
I hope your surgery went well and that you are recovering nicely. You will have lots of questions so keep us all posted.
-
Jenna, you can really see a big change in 7 weeks. You look great. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and he said my port scar is a little red on the outside and has put me on an antibiotic. He also said it was a bit swollen. I wrote this because Trish mentioned that her scars were red and our surgery dates are very close.

Banded April 29 and just regained my appetite
angiebell replied to BeckyinTexas's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Becky, Something that works to satisfy my hunger and is a great source of Protein is to eat 2 teaspoons of creamy Peanut Butter. It is so good. Eat it very slowly and you will be amazed at how your hunger pains are curbed. Good Luck!
