Larry was on Nexium for a couple of years before he was banded and if he missed a day he would have severe heatburn. Since his surgery he has not had heartburn even once. I was not on a daily med but I did have bouts of heartburn now and then. So far I have not experienced it either. DesertMom it sounds like you might need to see your doctor about the pain you are experiencing. Is the outside pain you described in the stomach area or the esophagus?

Michelle, I am glad everything went well for you and that you are healing. That is great news!

I know that Dr. Powell has a group the meets in Richardson. Go to lapbandsolutions.com and it will have the information on when they meet. Maybe you need another fill. Are you eating more because you are depressed? I hope you feel better soon. Try not to get on the scales too often...if you see your weight going up and down it can be depressing.

I like Penni's idea too. I think you should keep your faith and everthing will work out. I too lost a very good job and was unemployed for 2 months. I used the time off to have my lap band surgery and now I have a new job at a great company. You will pull through this and be better off for it. I am so sorry you have to cancel the trip. Break out the coconuts girl! Congrats on 30 years! That is certainly something to celebrate.

Congratulations Keri and Nita. Welcome fellow bandsters!

I can't eat many things in the morning. Late in the day I can eat most things. Bread and flour tortillas don't go down no matter what time of day it is. Mine seems to be dependant on the time of day.
-
I got my band yesterday too but am not doing as well as Kerri

Take it easy when you can but walking will help the gas pain more than anything else. Sip, sip your water to stay hydrated. Hope you feel better really soon;) -
Oh....She is a cutie! I just love little girls. They are so innocent and sweet. My grandaughter just had her first dance recital too. I have a picture but I don't know how to post it.

My first fill was done under flouro and they filled my band and then had me drink some barium and as it was going down they began removing saline and stopped when the baruim went though the band. I guess everyone does it differently.:guess

Heather, Sorry about your job. The same thing happened to me at the beginning of April and I just started a new job last week. I did get back at my company by getting both mine and my husbands lap-band surgeries before my insurance expired on the last day of April. Eat ice cream, you deserve it!
-
Me and my husband both used Dr. Powell and he did an excellent job. No problems have arisen for either of us. His staff is very nice and will work with your insurance company to get fast approval.

Nope...I asked my doc and he said as long as you puree in your mouth, you can eat it. I haven't had any problems with lunch meat at all.
-
The doc told me thar puree means you can chew food into a liquid form. You should not have a problem with the turkey if you chew it really, really well.

I ate ice cream for dinner. HELP!!!

It's okay to fall off the wagon once in a while. Don't beat yourself up! We are human and the good thing is that you are aware of what you did and can learn from this. Just start back over. Tomorrow is a new day! Keep a positive attitude. -
I haven't had a really bad one yet. I can feel it starting to come and if I don't eat or drink anything else it goes away. I did get a little slime. I know the signs now to STOP when I feel it. The first one I had was on water the morning after my fill. It lasted about 30 minutes. Hopefully I can control things and never have a full fledge one.
-
I didn't read your last post. Guess you were overfilled. Glad you are feeling better.
-
Nykee, I am so sorry to hear about your pain. Did you call the doctor that filled you? Maybe you are overfilled. Hope you get better real soon girl.
-
Hi Charlie, I just love this board. The people are good, funny and have a wealth of information! Welcome to LBT. We are glad to have you as part of our band family.
-
I got a fill after 4 1/2 weeks and it really has helped me a lot. I have lost 2 lbs this week and I was stuck. That made me really happy! Good luck!
-
OH MY GOODNESS! I can't believe how bruised you are. You may want to keep an eye on it. My port area was a little red around the incision area and my doctor gave me an antibiotic just to be on the safe side. I hope you heal up and feel better soon.

What foods do you find difficult to eat?
angiebell replied to aileena's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ground meat and any kind of sausage. I can't chew them up well enough. Haven't even atttemped rice or pasta. I had a half a biscuit tonight and I did okay, although bread is really not my thing. -
Congratulations and I am glad you are beginning to feel better.

I'm going to have to be out. I am taking a friend of mine to the Rascal Flatts concert that night as a birthday present. Would still love to get together some other time.
