You look fantastic girl! You give us slow losers hope.
-
Penni, I would certainly explore your options and keep them open. You just had some bad luck and hopefully you will not experience the same issues if you were re-banded.
-
Mary Ann, So sorry to hear about the loss of your band. You have a great attitude and I am sure you will continue to lose more weight. Keep smiling!

I would say you definately need to have your fills done under flouro. That way they can see your port, give you some barium to drink and see exactly how much fluid to give you for the proper restriction. Good Luck! I hope you can find a place to help you.

I wouldn't call fish mushy. That is considered a solid.

I stated in 16 & 14's. I am now in 12's and have recently bought several 10's. I still feel fat and I would like to be in an 8 or possibly 6. Clothes just run larger these days. I weighed 135 and wore a size 10. Now at 20lbs heavier I can wear the same size. So a 6 is probably really an 8.

I went to the fill center on Tuesday because I could not eat or drink. I was miserable. Good thing was that I has lost to 159lbs. Bad thing is that I was starving myself to death. Not to mention I was getting dehydrated. I begged the tech not to take out too much. I asked her to only take .1 and she tried but the baruim was still backing up. They tried having me stand to see if it would go down. that didn't work. They took .2 so now I am at 1.3 in my band. I am very frustrated with my fills and I expressed this to them. I am going to have an EGD on next Thursday to see what is going on with my band. I will be fine for about 1 to 1 1/2 months after a fill and then all of a sudden I am closed off completely. Possible cause they say could be a hiatal herniea (sp?). I guess I will know more on Thursday.

Thanks for your support. I do feel so much better since I had some of my fill removed. I will update after the endo and let you know how everything goes. When I had the unfill under fluro it appears that the band has not slipped. Thank God for that! :high5:

I had low BMI, started at 187 and now I weigh 158. My insurance company paid for my surgery because I had a family history of heart disease and diabetes. My doctor is in the US. My fills are covered by my insurance, I just have to cover the $20 co-pay.

Sorry I was out of town and did not have email access. I don't think it was any one thing specific that I ate. I did get swollen from excessive PBing. I still have pretty good restriction even with the unfill. I am having to watch what I eat and trying to make good decisions. My appetite is coming back. There for a while...nothing sounded good to me. I was living mostly on soup and a little tuna salad. I'll let you know what my endo says on Thursday. Hopefully there is not a hiatal hernia.

Try some Chicken broth with a little mashed potato stirred in. It will help you feel full faster. My fills usually kick in about 1-2 months after I get them. I am struggling with a fill I got in January. Have had a hard time eating over the past couple of weeks. My advice is to take it easy and DON't let your stomach swell. That is the pits. Then you are back on liquids. That's where I am now.

I had a hard time eating on Saturday, although Sunday I was able to eat just fine. Today had been okay...so far I have eaten 2 slices of turkey, pintos and cheese and 1/2 of a breakfast bar. The bar got a little stuck, but I do feel so much better. I really think I must have been swollen. Thanks for your support. It really helps to have you guys to turn to when I am scared. I was so worried that my band had slipped. -
I had a fill on Oct 5th and last week I started feel really, really restricted. I can hardly eat at all and can only drink coffee or something warm like broth. I keep trying though, thinking that something will stay down. Last weekend I ate some steak and potatos and it stayed down pretty well. I also ate half of a chicken breast and about 2 spoons of stove top. The stove top wasn't a good idea. I have tried Soup, it comes back up, chili, same thing. Even tuna came back up. It was grilled rare and was very soft. A fill could not wait for a month to kick in and make me overfilled right? I was fine with this fill for 4 weeks and then all of a sudden, PROBLEMS. Could I just be swollen from all of the PB's? Has this experience ever happened to anyone else? If so, what did you do? Go on liquids for a while? Even with not being able to eat I have only lost about 3 lbs. I tried Protein powder yesterday and took 2 sips and it started coming back up. I find it hard to believe that I am overfilled because I was ok for 4 weeks. I hope I can get the responses on this because I changed my email address and I also changed it in this system, but I never get emails letting me know I have a response. Any answers will be appreciated.

Okay, This is weird. Thanks for your answers by the way. I tried having soup for lunch and the first bite came right back up. I had some leftover turkey breast that was very moist. I thought I would take a bite and see what happens. Believe it or not...I was able to eat about 2 oz of turkey and it is staying down. How can this be. Liquid comes back up yet turkey stayed down? I am so confused:eek: Well, I know my nutritionist said that soup is not a band food but I was trying to give my band a rest and thought liquid was the way to go. Maybe not. I am still going to take it slow. I usually can't eat in the morning or at night lately. I really don't want and unfill but if it continues then I'll go get one. I have been at almost every fill level and thought 1.5 was my sweet spot. At 1.4 I was too loose. Thanks for your input, I do appreciate it! -

Once again I am in the same cycle. I got a fill in January and for the past 2 weeks I can hardly eat. The good part is that I am actually loosing weight. I have been on liquids for 3 days and just tried to eat a slim fast meal replacement bar and it got stuck. I DO NOT want to get another unfill because I am going through a vicious cycle of fills and unfills and not loosing weight. I am at 162 today and I had gotten up to 172 at my last fill appointment. Is anyone else having issues where you can eat just fine then all of a sudden you can't eat a thing. I can still drink coffee, but give me water and I am closed up tight as a drum! Maybe this is how it's supposed to be and those who are successful just live with it this way:noidea:. -
You shouldn't have to tell your boss a thing other than you need off for medical reason. That should be enough:speechles

Good Luck to you! I hope you get the right solution to your problem.

A Little Worried and Confused! PLEASE HELP!
angiebell replied to j_war06's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sounds like you are too tight. My nutritionist told me you have to eat between 1200-1500 calories to lose weight, otherwise your body goes into starvation mode and hangs on to the fat it has. Protein shakes are good and will help to keep your hair from falling out. I went through the exact same thing when I was too tight. You can get a very slight unfill and it will make all the difference. Don't forget to exercise too. That will jump start your weightloss. I'm glad you are going to your doctor. -
Out of the mouthes of babes. Wow you look great! Stay strong and encouraged. Sound like you have some great supporters in your home.

Congrats and Happy Bandiversery! :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: You've done a great job and I have enjoyed reading your posts over the past several months. Keep up the good work. You're awesome! -
I'm here too. 10 months and only 20lbs. I got down 25...then gained 5...then lost back 2. I have been exercising and hopefully I will start to lose again. My NSV last week was I got into a pair of size 10 jeans! I think they just ran big though. It made me feel good anyway!

Possible Clothing Swap for Texas LBTs...
angiebell replied to banded_for_life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Keri, Thanks for having me and Larry over. I got some cute dress and they fit perfectly! We appreciate your hospitality! It was great to meet more fellow bandsters. Sorry I missed out on the picture. -
I specifically asked the nutritionist at the fill center if Crystal light counts as water and she said YES!

I bought this over the weekend and I did the FUNdementals and the 25 minute workout so far. I love it! I am actually sore and I know it is working. I recommend it. It focuses on your mid section and that is where I need the most help.
