<HR style="COLOR: #d9d9d9; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d9d9d9" SIZE=1> I have had my band for 10 months, had 4 fills and have been doing very well. I have lost 55 pounds. The other day, though, I had some pain in my port area, and later went to eat lunch and no longer felt any restriction. I went to see my surgeon today and he said that there was no fluid left in my band. He told me that the tube may be detached from the port, or a faulty tube to the band occured, or a leak happened somewhere. He has only had three cases of it ever, and that It may be a simple fix, or a complete replacement of my band. I need to schedule surgery again, and he will not know what it is until he goes in there. Should I do a local area surgery checking the port and tubing, or go under to check it all? I can not get a date for over a month for the big surgery, so I am back to the beginning again. It is very depressing. Has anyone had this happen to them??? Tracy:confused2:

I hope it is the minimal port or tubing leakage. I think the problem is the port because I have discomfort sometimes, and feel that it moves around which may have caused the leak. I have scheduled for July 2nd. Did you go under, or was it local anesthesia?

Band Leakage at 4 1/2 months post-op I need help!!
Tracy W. replied to Banded091307's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm so glad to hear someone else had the same issues. I am so sad because trying to fit in another surgery into my schedule really is hard. I'm not sure if all the same restrictions apply. I have 4 kids and play softball during the summer so I don't want to go through all of that right now, but on the other hand, I am already eating more than I have in monthts and I do not want to gain back my weight. I hope my surgery goes well, and it is a simple fix. I can't imagine living without my band. How do I post a new thread? to hear from others? What did you mean about the heating pad? Are you talking about after surgery? How long? Thank you, Tracy -
Long Time Bandsters Experiencing Problems?
Tracy W. replied to starrgirrl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The doctor told me it could be a little knick in the tubing like you had. He said it could be from rubbing along the ribcage. I can't believe it happened after only 10 months. I love my band, and now have to try not to overeat. I can't get into surgery for 4 weeks because he is so booked up. Hopefully it will be the port or the tubing and not the land itself. I hate to go under anesthesia again but there is no other way. Thanks for your support. Tracy -
Thanks I will try that

Let me know how you make out. Tracy -
My month of being on band VACATION!
Tracy W. replied to waitingtiljan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was glad to read your post because I had my surgery a month ago and I am having my fill in two weeks. I can't wait for it because I have the hunger and can eat almost anything I want. I need that control. How many fills have you had?, what do you think the average number of cc is for the first fill, I want to go in with a number in my head. How are you doing now? Tracy -
Post-Op nastiness, ways to get through it?
Tracy W. replied to Ses's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Did you get banded on Aug 2 2007? Me Too! I had the burps for a day or so and phlegm that hurt to come up, I think it has to do with the breathing tube down the throat. My port site is very painful at times, and when I have gas pains, it is worse! Let's write and compare how were are doing. Tracy W. -
Sounds like you are doing great. i am new to this site. I have my surgery scheduled for thurs. Aug 2, and I am feeling very nervous and wondering if I should go through with it. Are you up and walking around yet? I have heard about so many failures, did you question your decision? Tracy W.
